What kind of RP? For any good RP, you need to make sure it has a plot and that the story will flow pretty steadily. Make sure there are not too many RP'ers playing 'cause that just clutters things.

Just make sure there's like a background story for people to follow up on. Make a conflict even so that there would be action for RP'ers to go through.

Here's a tip. Proccess your work through Microsoft office or a related program, as long as it has spell and grammar check. It helps you organize things and your RP looks a lot more serious when everything is proper.
Also, you could use the technique that I and some others in this guild use. Make a table of contents as your first post, then write in the ToC how everything is going to work. For example:
1. ToC 2. Rules 3. Story so far... 4. Premades (((If any))) 5. Updates 6. Etc.

Use paragraphs. They make it easiar for you and everyone else to read. Or at least thats what >>I<< think.
>Good example: She walked through the forest with big eyes, wondering about the mysteries that this place held.
"What are you doing here?" Someone asked her from behind.
She jumped and scanned nervously for the speaker. They were no where to be found.
>Bad example: She walked through the forest with big eyes, wondering about the mysteries that this place held. "What are you doing here?" Some one asked from behind. She jumped and scanned nervously for the speaker. They were no where to be found.
>>These may or may not be good examples but I think they get my point across. I also think puncuation is helpful. Then after that all you have to do is write like your favorite author. Oh and give each of your characters a different color. It makes it easiar to find your posts then. And it makes them more fun!!!! 3nodding
*Sorry for my awfull spelling. I honestly do try. (I don't use spell check because it takes along time and my pc can't do two things at once. Its practicly a mirical that it can go on the internet. Sorry!!! sweatdrop )

If you would like an example of rules go and look in one of my rps on the first page, scroll until you find the rules I think their pretty good examples, and then just copy and paste them into your rp, I don't mind.
Also for a totally brand new story, make things original, make things clever people like that. Romance is a good plot element just don't make it so that 2 Pre-Made Characters are forced to end up together, no one likes that and they won't play if you do that.
Also remember, the basis of all conflict, is drama and vice versa, use drama and conflict in your plot and your Pre-Made Characters to make things more intresting.
