EWW!!KSTU and I were talking on AIM, and I told her my terrible news. I was making sugar cookies last night, and I noticed the flour expired in February. So I thought it would still be okay because that's not too bad, right? Well, I looked in the bottom of the container that the flour was stored in and there were tiny bugs! gonk KSTU told me that she thought bugs lay eggs in flour and that when it expires, it means the bugs are probably hatching. eek So I looked it up, and it's true! Quote: Flour bugs are, well, bugs that live in flour. Bug eggs make it through all the sifting, sorting, and filtering because they are about the same size as the flour particles. In coarsely ground flour, they have an easier time of it. After a while, they hatch and then bugs go through a life cycle in your cupboards. The only thing you can do about them is 1, keep your flour in a sealed container and 2, use it faster than the bugs cycle. So, so, so... We all have probably eaten a ton of bug eggs during our lifetimes. WTF EWW!!And I couldn't make cookies, which I was really looking forward to. Stupid bugs. mad

And did you know that during our lifetime wev'e also eaten a bunch of cows, pigs, sheep, fish things that are found hundreds of feet below sea level like shrimp and squid, slimy things like snails, some kinds of reptiles, predators like the shark, some people even eat cats and dogs.
If the bug eggs are that small and you eat them and there immediately dissolved by your stomach's acid, does it make that much difference as to what you eat? You eat other creatures all the time. Is it that much different? Now, if it's like a live bug in your damned milk, that's obviously another story.

XD It's not such a big deal... it's just weird knowing there's something living in that flour all cozy like and just when you're gonna make cookies BAM it's born. surprised razz I've known about it for quite some time and it doesn't bother me. One time, Lizz and I were trying to make cookies or cupcakes or something with icing on them... <_< We found icing sugar... There were a whole bunch of wiggly black bugs in it xD We found like bits of legs and wings and stuff~ I wanted to use it anyways, but she was like, "Uhh, no." xD Soo. My dad was also like, "Uhh, no." :B
