While entering the large doors to the Gymnasium, as that was the only door still open in the school, Ryuichi was still gripping the book in his arms. It was THE book, atleast in his mind. He didn't know what the deal was with this book, he only knew what he saw. And, he saw his little sister, Tatsuko, her four friends, and his friend get sucked into it in a multi colored flash of light. The same light that had appeared afterwards in rings.

Ryuichi had read the book after they had all mysteriously vanished, trying to figure out what the hell was going on. His first impression was that he was imagining things. However, as he read it, he noticed that half the pages in the book were empty, and were writing themselves. That, he knew, was not normal. So, after figuring out where everybody had ended up, which was relatively easy considering a few of them mentioned their names in the book, when the colored rings appeared, he dropped their bags into the light. Afterall, they probably needed them, and it would seem odd for him to just walk out of the National Library carrying seven packs.

And now, he was here after hopping a train and riding back. He was lucky. Being that basketball practice was still going on, he could get into the school. Walking up to the basketball coach, a Mr. Sukunami, he tapped him on the shoulder. He would know if the Ancient History teacher was still here, hopefully. Or, if Mrs. Kajiwara was there. He had seen her name in the book... the old Priestess of Seiryuu, he thought it was. "Excuse me, but do you know if Mr. Yuuki Keisuke is still here? I need to speak with him." He knew it was an odd request, asking the boys basketball coach if another teacher was there, but he didn't really have the guts to go up to the girls basketball coach.

Taka turned around when he felt the tap on his shoulder. "Keisuke? I don't know, I haven't seen him..." he ran a hand through his mess, salt and pepper hair, and even though he was 50, the only sign of his age was the graying hair. He shrugged, he didn't know this student, but something struck him as a bit odd. He was clutching a book... No... Taka thought to himself, He's got THE book. "Son,' he said in a hushed, concerned tone, "That book is dangerous, very dangerous. You shouldn't be playing with it." Especially around girls... He thought back to his past life memories, when he was Tamahome, and his friends, who were probably all gone. He wanted to look at the book. "May I see it, I can tell by your face something has happened... and I know as much as Keisuke. Well, not the theoretical stuff mind you, but the practical stuff." He really wanted to look in it...

Ryuichi was about to leave when Mr. Sukunami mentioned he wanted to see the book. He was reluctant the hand it to him, since his sister was still inside of it. However, he was a teacher, and he said he knew about the book. So, he hesitantly offered it to Taka. "I'm not playing with it. My sister... she... gah... you wouldn't believe me if I told you." He didn't even believe it himself. How could he? His little sister got sucked into a BOOK. "The Universe of the Four Gods... what do you know about it?"

Taka opened it and looked at the pages, reading through a bit. "Oh no..." He closed the book and looked at him. "I know quite a bit actually. I need you to tell me what's happened. and don't worry, I won't think you're crazy... I've been in this book too." He turned to the basketball team and left instructions with the assisstant couch, then took Ryuichi into his office. "Can you tell me exactly what happened?"

With a puzzled look, Ryuichi nodded. The basketball coach had been in the book? He stayed quiet until they reached the office, where he found a chair to sit in. "Well... I can't believe I'm saying this... but my little sister, Tatsuko, and her four female friends got sucked into the book, along with my friend Toshiro. They had gone into the restricted section, since Tatsuko was looking for a book for Mr. Yuuki's class. I guess she found a referance for that book, and opened it. I had been coming up the stairs when I saw all six of them disappear in a multi colored light. It was crazy." He shook his head, chuckling a little from embaressment. It sounded absolutely crazy, not to mention physically impossible. There was no way a group of six people could disappear into a book.

"Afterwards, I started reading it. I think I know where they are, but I'm not sure. There's five different stories to follow, and they are hard to keep track of." Looking down a little, Ryuichi felt like kicking himself. He was supposed to take care of Tatsuko, and now she was in a book. If he had kept a closer eye on her, it wouldn't have happened. "Tatsuko is in Kutou, I've been reading the most about her. Ayame, one of her friends, is in Konan. Shinsei is in some placed called Ounen. I think Noriko is in Sairou, and Midori would be in the other place... Hokkan, I think is what it said. Toshiro is with Shinsei in Ounen." Putting his hand to his head, he sighed, shaking it. "I... don't know what else to tell you."

He nodded, taking the book up and looking through it. "Well, it seems the place has changed since I was in there. There was no Ounen, only Konan, Kutou, Hokkan and Sairou." He was reading over some of the book for a moment and his brow furrowed. "Well, you are now part of a small group of people that know what this book really is. It's magical, obviously, and girls from this world travel into the world of the book. Once there, they become Priestesses, and she must gather her Celestial Warriors, who's fate it is to protect her, and bring her power. We thought the book's story was over after the Priestesses of Suzaku and Seiryuu came, that was when my wife was 15. But after that, the book calls in priestesses when it needs help. I'm guessing something is terribly wrong for it to pull 5 priestesses in." He rubbed his chin, reading through a bit more to try and figure out what was going on. Then he saw the two warriors that saved the Priestess of Suzaku from bandits. His eyebrows went up in surprise, "This seems to be a whole new set of warriors." He got a sad look on his face and closed the book, "Genro, Hojun..." it seemed that his old friends were dead.

Taka took a deep breath and looked at the boy with an intense gaze. "You mustn't tell anyone about this. And I'm going to tell you about how Mr. Yuuki even came to be interested in Ancient Civilazations. I am the reincarnation of one of the characters in this book. I have all of his memories, I am Tamahome, but I was born in this world so I could stay with my Priestess. Miaka Yuuki, my wife, came in to this book," he pointed down at it, "Along with her best friend Yui Hongo. Miaka was the Priestess of Suzaku, and Yui the Priestess of Seiryuu. Keisuke is Miaka's brother, and he ended up where you are sitting, watching his sister go through the trials of a priestess, and unable to really do much. We went through so much, and eventually Miaka and I fell in love, inside the book, but before I was born outside of the book, Warriors and Priestesses were only fated to be seperated." He ran a hand through his hair, "But I thought, after the last time I went in the book, right after Miaka and I had been married, that the world was fine, and no one would get sucked in again." He looked down at the book, "And they aren't going to want to come back. Once inside, a deep bond happens between the Warriors and the Priestess, making the warriors want to protect her, but also making the priestess want to stay to help her friends. I'm afriad there isn't much to do but read the book and try to help if we can. There is away to speak with them, if we have something that exists in both worlds, then they will be able to here us. Like... something they are wearing, part of their uniforms, or what they are wearing."

Blinking, Ryuichi ran his hand through his hair, trying to get a grasp on the situation. Not only had this happened before, but apparently repeatedly. And now he was talking to the reincarnation of one of the warriors. It was too much for him to take in at the moment. "Let me see if I've got this straight. My little sister and her crazy friends, and my friend, got sucked into a book. And, I wasn't hallucinating? So, now the girls are supposed Priestesses and are supposed to gather up a group of warriors? And to top it all off, this has happened before and you were one of them?"

Shaking his head, his hand still on his forehead, Ryuichi was having a hard time. His hands were shaking a little. How could this have happened? He was supposed to take care of her, since his father never paid much attention to either one of them, and now Tatsuko was in a book. "Something that exists there and here..." He paused, one of his hands dropping to the cellphone in his pocket. His sister had gone to the summer festival a year ago and had won a handful of cellphone charms. They were simple, an intricate red knot with a spinner bead in the center. It had two kanji on it, one that said Friend, and the other Forever. He remembered Tatsuko giving them to each one of them. "Well... there is this," he said pulling it out and showing Taka the charm. "Other than that... nothing."

Taka nodded, "Yes, it seems that it's been happening since the book was written, translated from an old scroll found in the Taishou era." He looked at the charm, "It will work as long as she has one like it on her person. All you have to do is open the book to where her story is being written and talk. She should be able to hear you." Taka couldn't believe this was happening again, and this time it had sucked up 5 girls and a boy? He thought it would be a good idea to get everyone together. He picked up his cell phone and called Keisuke first, leaving him a message. Then he called Tetsuya, Miaka and Yui.

He looked back at him, "I know this is hard, but I'm sure your sister will be fine, at least for the moment." I'll tell him about the whole sacrifice, devouring thing when he can talk to Miaka and Yui. Since they had both summoned one of the Beast Gods, he was sure they could explain it in a better way, so the boy didn't freak out.

Miaka smiled as she mounted the steps of Yotsubodai High, her alma mater. She carried a obento box in her hands, a pretty red box with golden sparkles in the plastic. Taka had been so busy with the basketball team, he'd been late the last few days. Miaka had been forced to eat dinner by herself, and of course, by the time Taka got home, not a grain of rice remained. So today she decided to bring dinner to him, so they could eat together. She'd kept her promise all those years ago, that if she got to stay with Tamahome, that she's actually learn to cook. Well, he's not exactly Tamahome... Even after 30 years of marriage that still gave her a bit of a headache. The pleasently round Miaka made it to the gym, her brown hair hadn't shown gray yet, but she'd never tell the reason was a wonderful woman named Loreal Hair Dye. She was quite fond of the chesnut woman on the front of that box.

"Taka?" she called, then one of his students came out of the locker room. "Oh Mrs. Sukunami? Couch is in his office talking to a student." Miaka resisted the pressure to grin at the mention of Mrs. Sukunami, still happy to be called that." Thanks!" She said with an upbeat grin. "Mrs. Sukunami, when are you would to send more of those cookies?" She grinned wider, "I'll make some and send them with Taka on Monday, alright!" He nodded and ran back to the locker room. Miaka started toward the office and knocked lightly, then opened the door. "Taka, I brought dinner!" She came in and looked at the student, not recognizing him as a basketball player. Then her bright eyes widened as her eyes fell on the book. "Um... Taka? What's going on? Why do you have the book?" She sat the obento box down and looked at it, "Has something happened again?"

Taka looked up and blinked, "Miaka! It's like you knew I was thinking about you!" He stood up and came over to his wife, giving her a soft kiss. "Yeah, there seems to be a big problem. The book created new warriors... all new warriors, and a new provience! And five girls have been sucked in to be new priestesses." He lead her over to sit down and showed her the book. He told Miaka everything that had been told to him, then said... "Chichiri and Tasuki are gone Miaka. I haven't found out how, or how long..." He had a sad look on his face.

Miaka looked up to Taka and bit her lip, "Tasuki... Chichiri... they are gone, they are all gone Taka." She ran her hand over the book, remembering all her friends. She sighed and looked to the boy. "My name was Miaka Yuuki when I was in this book. I was the Priestess of Suzaku, and I summoned the Beast God to have my wishes granted. We will try to help you anyway we can." She took Taka's hand and squeezed it.

Shaking his head again, Ryuichi looked down. This was crazy... it was impossible. There was no way for them to have gone into the book. It's phyisically impossible for that to happen. This was one time, if Ryuichi drank, he could go for something strong to calm his nerves a little. "She has one... I think each of her friends have one as well." His hands were still shaking, from the frustration of it all.

His head glanced upwards as he saw an older woman enter the room. She didn't look as old as the coach, but if she was his wife, she must be close to it. "My name is Ryuichi Yamazaki. My sister, Tatsuko, is... I guess... the new Priestess of Seiryuu..."

Miaka nodded, "I know this is really hard to believe, but there is a powerful magic that is contained in that book. The main question is, has she found any of her warriors? Have you been reading what's going on?" She opened the book and took a deep breath, scanning over the pages. "The Priestesses should be alright as long as they have at least a warrior with them." She looked at the phone charm then down at the book, "If there is something tying them to this world, if the will is strong enough and a priestess has her warriors, then she can come out of the book."
PostPosted: Mon May 22, 2006 10:41 pm

"Hard to believe is an understatement," he said, running his hand through his hair once more. He was trying to keep himself focused. Normally, Ryuichi didn't get so worried, but then again... he got to keep an eye on his sister. With her in the book, he could do nothing but watch. He couldn't help her.

He sighed a little, as he opened his bag. Ryuichi was looking for something, anything to calm his nerves. As he opened it, he found a can of coffee, with a rubber band around it. There was a note, from Tatsuko. Ryuichi had a test today, and she was wishing him good luck. He chuckled a little, popping open the can. "I have been reading. I think, last I saw, she had found Suboshi and Amiboshi. I believe those were the names." He hadn't read about the fight. The last he had read was after Koori had dropped into the carriage. "What should be done... while she and her friends are still in the book? What should I tell their parents?"

"Well, Keisuke just made excuses for me, but you have to remember that time flows differently in the book then out here. I was in there for months as I percieved it, and in this world, it was only a few days. Exams are comng up, right? Maybe, if they aren't gone to long, they can just day they are staying over at eachothers houses on different nights?" She opened the last pages that were filling in and saw what was happening in Kutou. She had to admit, this Suboshi seemed to want to protect Tatsuko with the same zeal the Suboshi she'd known wanted to protect Yui. "Well, they had their frist fight it seems, and Tatsuko got out of it uninjured." She wondered what was happening in that universe to make such strange things happen.
