"Is he asleep yet, Momma?" Vidya queried, peering over her seated guardian's shoulder to view the small baby the woman held.

"No...not yet, 'Dia..." Enoh sighed, lightly bouncing the still awake, but dozy infant in her arms. "Not yet...but close." She reassured her blue-skinned daughter, who seemed genuinely worried about the infant. Aurion had never been a fussy baby...until recently. He'd been up most of the night, and the only way to calm him down was to take him for a walk, to make him fall asleep before bringing him back home to his crib.

Infact, it was Aurion that brought them to the park in the first place. Vidya had trailed after Enoh and her small brother out of boredom, and she'd eventually found herself swinging on the swings or hanging off of the monkey bars while her mother sat on the bench, trying to lure the infant to sleep. Night outings were fun, anyway!

"Well...alright. But if you need me, just ask!" The girl offered, then went back to her post at the swings. The offer was a good one; Aurion liked to stare at her forehead gem since it omitted a soft glow at night, in the dark, and also under water...not to mention the fact her headwings seemed to amuse the cabbit-eared infant to no end.

Enoh glance sidelong as her unusual daughter...maybe she would take her up on that offer...

"Thank you daddy!" squeeled Khalindra as she bounded from her father's car and took off over one of the park's hills, her blue dress fluttering around her. She'd been wearing it for two days now and while Aiden ahd vowed to get her more clothes...They just hadn't had the time.

The only problem was...Khalindra still wasn't quite used to her legs yet and they ended up buckling beneath her, sending her rolling down the hill. It didn't hurt her. Quite the opposite, Khali was squealing in pure joy.

But it sent terror through the new father's heart.

"KHALINDRA?!" he called, racing after her and gathering the giggling girl up in his arms, "Ahh, Khali are you okay?!"

"Fine daddy, FINE!" she giggled gleefully, pushing away from him in an attempt to make him set her down again.

The small tale seemed to be much more energetic and night, and a lot less cranky.

It was quiet...until the happy voice of a young girl split the air. Normally, the sounds of a happy child thoroughly delighted the shapeshifter...but not tonight. In fact, she would have given anything to keep it silent. Why? Because between the happy girl's squees and the male's frightened yell...Aurion was wide awake, and announcing his discomfort to the rest of Gaia...in a rather loud fashion, one might add.

Enoh let out a groan of dismay...and he was so close to dropping off, too! The shifter looked up towards the swingset, now finally deciding to turn Aurion over to Vidya (it was her fault for offering)...but alas, she saw no one. "...Smart girl..." Enoh grumbled, naturally mistaking Vidya's sudden and silent disappearance for not wanting to deal with a crying infant.

Of course, Enoh was wrong to assume that. The second the happy girl started squeeing, Vidya had left her swing and followed the noise, hoping to do both of two things; one, meet someone who was obviously in a good mood (they were her favourite people, after all!), and to ask them politely to quiet down a bit. Alas, Aurion's crying would probably be heard and heeded long before she even found them. Too bad.

"Oh, wait~!" Vidya breathed out to herself, catching a glance of a blonde-headed girl nearby. That must have been her! Grinning now (and cringing internally for her mother's sake), the lightfooted girl scooted down the hill and headed towards the duo.

"Heya!" Vidya called out good naturedly with an eyeless smile, one hand behind her back and the other waving slightly. "You two are out late~!" She continued on with a thin giggle. Funny...it was almost as if Aurion's cries weren't heavy on the air.

Khalindra's head snapped to look at the blue child which was heading towards her and successfully untangled herself from her father, bouncing over to Vidya with a smile plastered to her face.

The baby's cries didn't seem to bother the princess too incredibly much. Nothing could really annoy her when she was out in her element. It made her feel peaceful and giddy inside.

"Hello," she said, giving a low courtsey to the girl. Even if she was the princess, it was okay to be polite and courtsey to a girl, right? Well, even if it wasn't, she said it was so she won.

Aiden looked exhasperated, "Yeah, Khalindra's a bit of a night owl, unfortunately. Because I'm quite the day time person.

Khalindra made a slight face, "The sun hurts me."

Vidya's next comment would have been to ask them to quiet down but...it seemed her Momma had already gotten Aurion to relax, since the cries eventually died down into silence. "Oh good, he quieted down..." She breathed out in relief, a thin sigh escaping her lips afterwords.

"Oh, wow~ Like a princess!" Vidya commented again, staring down with slightly wide white eyes at the younger girl. The only people she knew who courtsied to her were Princesses...well, actually just one Princess-ish type. Pressing her lips together, the blue-skinned girl looked down at her own clothing; black pants, a yellow-lined orange top, a dark haori and zori shoes...not much to courtsey back with. Instead, she shrugged and bowed. "Just this once, I'll play the Prince, okay?" She giggled heartilly, then crouched to be more at level with the blonde one. When the man commented, the tale glanced up at him.

"Night owl? Oh, I get it...Aurion's turning into a night owl too...Momma brings him out here to quiet him down and to get him to sleep." That must have been what these two were doing out here as well! To her, it made sense.

"Aww...the sun hurts you...? Thats too bad..." The tale sounded genuinely sorry for the girl. "Maybe a lot of sunscreen and an umbrella would help...?" Vidya leaned her head to the side a bit. She was forgetting something...but what was it...? Oh, yeah!

"Oh, my name's Vidya by the way! You can call me Viddy or Dia or any combination of sounds from 'Vidya' you want...actually, you can call me almost anything, even if it isn't my name. I won't mind." She rambled for a moment, then closed her only good eye, staring down at Khalindra with her pupilless left eye. "You've got very pretty hair, and you're a nice girl! Your aura tells me so...though I knew that from the beginning, anyway!" Yay for using new talents! After reopening both eyes, she smiled up at the guardian. "Oh, and my Momma's just over that hill on the bench if you wanna meet her." She offered, since most adults liked to hang out with fellow adults.

Khalindra nodded her head, silver eyes beaming, "I am a princess! Daddy says so," she giggled slightly as Vidya bowed, tilting her head to the side, "I don't have a prince, so of course you can play the prince!"

She paused, however, when her author spoke and shifted her eyes over to him, "Hoot," she answered cheekily before offering her hand to the blue-skinned girl. She looked like fun, and she wanted to play!

"Don't work, tried," she nodded sagely as she took Vidya's hand and started to pull her, without asking, towards the play ground. Aiden groaned.

"I'm Khalindra but you can call me Khali..." she looked back at the girl, "You gots pretty hair too. And skin. I never saw a blue skinned girl before! Come to think of it, I've never seen blue skin..." she looked confused for a moment before stopping by the monkey bars.

"I've met someone who looked like a giant plushie 'n' someone with shiny black and orange colored hair. They were both very nice! And now I've met you! Three new friends in three days!"

Khalindra certainly seemed to be lucky.

Aiden, on the other hand, seemed dead tired. Perhaps he'd take the girl up on the offer of meeting her mother.

The blonde brushed stray hair from his blue eyes as he walked over the hill to where Vidya had said Enoh was. He smiled seeing the infant, moving to sit down beside her, quietly.

It was only polite not to make too much noise when there was an infant trying to sleep.

"Well, Princess! I admit you're the second Princess I've ever met...but the first Princess I've been the Prince to." Vidya giggled out happily, bowing once more to her 'Princess'. In the back of her mind, she wondered what Lance would say to all this...he'd probably hate it...a 'maiden' playing a prince...haha. Oh well!

"Wow, you're sensitive...guess Sunscreen doesn't work either, eh?" The tale mused as she was tugged, acting as though this wasn't out of the ordinary. Well...aside from the fact that it was usually herself doing the tugging...this was normal, relatively. Vidya did, however, seem happy to have her own hair and skin complimented...even if that small bit of attention gained a thin purple blush. Well, blue skin certainly was a form of oddity, even on Gaia. "Thank you, Khali! You've got a pretty name too, perfect for a Princess!"" Wow, Elena sure did have some competition now!

"...Monkey bars! I LOVE MONKEY BARS!" Vidya cheered out, throwing her arms above her head happily. "I wanna hang upside down offa them!" She seemed all ready to do just that...but wait, didn't Khali say something about a giant plushie and shiney hair? "That sounds an awful lot like Syl and 'Melly..." Vidya mused outloud. Sylvester was the only tale she'd met who looked like a giant plush, and that hair colour combination really only meant Armel. But this was gaia, and she was probably very wrong.

"Anyway! Khali-hime, do you need any assistance?" Vidya, though grinning, spoke regally and eloquently, bowing with her offer as any good prince should.

Enoh, holding her baby close in the cooling air, glanced up once she saw someone who was not her daughter wander over the hill. Her kitsune ears twitched a bit in curiousity...and following his lead, she said nothing at first. She did, however, extend a smile of welcome. A few minutes of silence passed, and a soft test bob of her arms proved that her baby had, at last, fallen asleep.

"...I'm assuming our daughters latched onto eachother." She didn't know if this man was really the man she'd heard earlier, but...considering the evidence, he had to be. "I'm Enoh, by the way...! I'd shake your hand, but..." The shifter trailed off, glancing down at her sleeping cabbit baby.

"Then I feel special!" Khali answered, giving a courtsey once more to her 'Prince'. It was awfully fun to have a prince! She had a Knight in Shining Armor, and now she had a prince!

Shaking her head at Vidya's question, Khali jutted out a lower lip, "Nuh huh. Daddy says it'll get better when I get older, but Iunno. Old people like to think things like that."

When they finally arrived at the metal contraption, Khalindra giggled, "Thank you, Daddy says so too. And I like 'em too, they look fun. Never been--" she paused as the names were mentioned, "Armel and Sylvester! Sylvester bought me a pretty book!"

The girl bounced a few times, excited that this blue girl knew of her only other friends, and she beamed as bright as a night star, golden hair bouncing along with her, "Could you help me up?"

Aiden, smiling slightly at Vidya's mother, nodded his head, "Oh yes. Very much so. I'm Aiden, and don't worry, my hand's been shaken enough with Khalindra hanging onto it. It's nice to meet you."

Well, Khali SHOULD feel special, since Khali was still only a toddler and she already has a prince-figure. The closest things Vidya had to princely figures both happened to be pirates.

"Well, I don't envy you." Vidya stated absently, considering Khali's apparent intolerance for the daytime. She liked her daytime, thank you very much. "I only met Syl once! But Armel's my cousin! Kind of...sort of...our parents adopted eachother as siblings? So we're really-but-not-really cousins." She giggled, nodding happily.

Kneeling down on knee and foot infront of the younger girl, Vidya offered her knee as a stepping post for now, and her hand for stability. "Here! Hold my hand an' stand on my leg...then uh...reach up with your other hand and grab onto that lower bar, okay?" The older tale pointed up at the nearest bar, which happened to be the lowest one. Surely Khali could grab that with her help!

"Oh good, then we have nothing to worry about!" The shapeshifter said with a small chuckle, adjusting the sleeping infant in her arms. "Nice to meet you, Aiden...How's Fatherhood treating you so far?" Enoh just couldn't resist asking that question...it was always fun for her to hear the varied responses.

"Sylvester is nice," she agreed with a nod, "And Armel is shiny! I mean, REALLY shiny. I like his hair, a lot, and he's really nice and and...You're REALLY his cousin? You're lucky!"

Khalindra's hand moved to grab hold of Vidya's, following her directions carefully. It was at the last second that she completely chickened out and stepped down.

"Nuh...I don't know I can," she said sullenly, "Maybe the slide instead?" the monkey bars were so high up! "Or you could do the monkey bars and I'll watch!"

That would work too.

"Fatherhood? Well, it's definitely a new experience," Aiden responded with a laugh, "A very long experience. But nice."

"I'm really lucky, Yeah! Not only because of Armel though. I have a lot of neat and fun friends. I'm lucky to have them." Vidya said rather thoughtfully. WHen Khali stepped down, the blue-skinned girl sighed. "Aww, thats too bad! I could always stay underneath you if you want, so I could catch you." She offered, but she still accepted Khali's offer of playing on the bars anyway.

"But here, it's not that hard, Watch!" With a little jump, Vidya grabbed the nearest bar, dangling from it for a moment before scooting along the bars, a couple bars forwards before going back again. "See? Its really easy." With a grin, she tightened her grip on the bar and swung her legs up, wrapping them sturdily around the bars. After releasing the bar she had been holding, she hung upside down from the play set, her long braid curling on the ground. "Still don't wanna try?" She prodded, holding one hand down to Khali.

"Well, if anyone said Parenting was easy, they were lying." Enoh said with a small chuckle, absently picking at some loose hairs on Aurion's ears. "But you seem to be doing all right so far, so have fun with it while you can." She advised.
