I have had people PM me about how to RP. Here is a quick guide to help you.
Newer Roleplays
Asterisks- They are used mainly to show action. You can create them by pressing shift+8. They should look like this '*'
Example: *sits on a log staring into space- suddenly startled.* What? Oh, hi there
Older Roleplay style
The way these pan out are like story type writing. Some people find them easier to RP depending on what they usually do.
Example: She sat on a log staring out into space. She turned her head and became startled. "What? Oh, Hi there..."
God-Modding
This is when you basically take over someone else's character. It is usually ALWAYS frowned upon. It's a good idea if you want to do something to someone else's character to PM them and ask.
Example:
Post1- I WIN! YAY! *dances*
Post2- *strangles and kills post one's RP character*
RPING in general
It's a way to free yourself from reality. Usually enjoyable, you can be anything and everything depending on what you do. You create a character to stick with and post. If you are in a RP and people don't pay attention just calmly post again. Please post nothing like "OMG U GUYZ SUX!" because someone was hanging onto a branch for dear life and you came in to say "Hi!" after a bit you can repost to see if someone will answer.

For asterisks, you can also use the number key pad on the far right side of your keyboard. Top row, 3rd button from the right. 3nodding
