MitosisK622 THREE WHOLE OCTAVES?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!? eek three octaves on a flute is not thtahard. All flute players in our band have to be able to play three octaves. And ALso 7th and 8th graders trying to get in to special bands must be able to play three octaves.

lol. You should hear me play the piccolo. ;3 I'm so excited! I'm first chair, I get to check out the piccolo, I'm going to band camp, and I have flute earrings! Wewt.
Edit:
Band camp at UTA and I might go to Flute Fire.. But, I might go to Baylor next year 'cause my director teaches saxes there. =]
Edit/Edit:
My range (on flute) is from B below the staff to D way, way above the staff. You know, thumb-3-1-2-and the low C and C# keys.

Maybe it's just because I suck, but... isn't trying to play three octaves on an oboe like playing around with an atomic bomb?

yeah, we kinda just sign up, and are accepted. It's no real competition, since hardly nayone joins, and most of the people who do could care less about band. crying NOT ME! IT'S MY LIFE

I think our seventh grade flutes can play three octaves yeah =D they can...it would be traumatizing if rebecca karen or annie couldn't o_O and yes, yey for the clarinets wide range reminds me... because i'm such an idiot and haven't properly been taught efficient practicing until only two months ago, I can't remember my high G fingering -_- and just about everyone in the first two rows can do their chromatic up to G except me...i gotta practice it D= tomorrow i shall whee
