I'm addicted to the Harry Potter books, the 4th was my favourite and the 5th was my least-favourite.
I would say Jean M. Auel, for 'The Clan of the Cave Bear', but it's sequals were wretched.
I liked the Golden Compass, the Subtle Knife, and the Amber Spyglass, by Philip Pullman, but they're the only books of his I've read...
I've read all 7 books of the 'Acorna' series, they were great, and were a joint effort by Anne McCaffrey and Elizabeth Ann Scarborough, I think they're pretty good authors. 3nodding
I don't read as much as I used to, I work nearly full time and seem to find so many other things I've got to get done, however if I do find a book I want to read (Harry Potter book 6 is due out 10 days after my birthday!) I'll read during every waking moment not already claimed by work and cleaning. xd

Hamilton but now her books are nothing but sex. Both series! I'm like "Can't you at least keep one of them decent and focused?" Anyway, I love Anne Bishop. And she's so nice too! She answers E-mails!

I am a total book worm. I am capable of reading several books in a day. A good percentage of my time is spent reading. I utterly love reading.
Favorite authors include Orson Scott Card, Ursula K. LeGuin, Anne Bishop, Robert Jordan, Kurt Vonnegut, Anne McCaffrey...and erm, I could go on and on 3nodding
I write. Mostly short stories and nonfiction peices, occasional (fairly bad) poetry, and a few attempts at novels I've never actually finished. I sort of want to be a writer, though I realize it's not too likely :/

Lisa Tucker The Song Reader If you're a music lover, I recommend everyone to read this... it's a fiction book but it goes into how music that you listen to can tell you about your problems to others and hold the solutions too. I've read this at least 5 times.

Oooh, I love reading!
The top of my pedistal is the 'Harry Potter' Series! (Gem, what a great birthday present! ^_^)
Nothing will ever take down HP off of that higher-than-the-gods-pedistal that I have for it. It is absolutely the best books ever!
Other than that I can just pick up a book and read it. I'll spend all day and all night just laying in bed reading. It's one of my favorite things to do. Lately I've mainly read manga but I detour from those on occasion to pick up a slightly less graphic novel! (haha)
I really like Wally Lamb. His first book 'Girl Undone' or 'Girl Comes Undone' (I cant remember off the top of my head) was fantastic. It's a must read.
I like Dean Koonce, Stephen King. Just about any mystery writter I'll like! Im easy to please!

My favorite book series is The Sympony of Ages by Elizabeth Haydon. There's 5 books out for it and the sixth one should be out soon. Rhapsody is the first and the series is simply the most amazing fantasy stories I have ever read. With the mixture of magic, music and romance it quickly became the novel closest to my heart.
Currently I am reading the second book in the Sevenwaters series by Juliet Marrillier (I think that's how it is spelled...) The first in the series is Daughter of the Forest a splendid novel that is definitely worth checking out.
Due to my cursed slow reading speed I find myself wanting to read several series at a time only to find another book that I have to read. So I do my best finishing a book every other week. I still have not read Harry Potter simply because I have the feeling that it is overrated. I do not doubt that it is a good series and all, but I think it has gotten far more attention than necessary where many other astounding novels are hardly even mentioned. I figure I'll read Harry Potter eventually, it's just not on the top of my list.

artemismanson My favorite authors are: Dean Koontz (He's my #1 fav) and Brian Lumley ^^ My mother has nearly all of Koontz's books I believe. She loves his writing. This is great. You all have given me an aweseome reading list for this summer. ^.^ Unfortunately, I don't have the time to read until then. Unless it's a text book or work manual. gonk
