alright.....with toran hibernating and budehuc just getting its feet under it i think we need to invent some new rps to get this place rollin again

Heheh, I think this guild's "rollin'" pretty fine - we don't really need an RPG. Maybe we need to change the guild picture to V *coughcough* instead of IV..but yeah, those LJ Suikoden RPs usually don't have many people in them, or even having nobody RPing in them at all. They've all stayed on a lame hiatus or have been left there to die.

lets do these in order.....


this guild has had some pretty humourous rps and has a fun crowd of rpers around


the last time we tried a contest there where only two entrys
in the art contest with three possible winners kenton won with his extremly good mod group shot
and kethean (before your time) won the 'suggestion for the guild' contest with "make the guild better"
so no i dont think a contest will be happening soon unless random members will be sponsoring sweatdrop

art? we dont have that many good artists who have anounced themselves abd even then the onees i do know of are swamped until the school season comes to an end
and what would we commision anyway?
and to use your logic: how would that help if where not an art guild? wink

this guild used to be much more active...i mean MUCH more
no offense to you guys but none of you where around when we have had art and banners filling in and dozens of newbies coming here with there little gaming questions and banners covering the place and so on and so on.....
and the only diffrence i could figure out (just my theory) is how back then we had the rps and kethean and other silly (at least one said insanly demented) personalitys around


we changed to a suikoden 4 picture only a few months ago theres realy no need to get a sui5 picture quite yet until more people get the chance to play through and somebody draws a nice enough front banner

Well, no one said it had to be art. Personally, I think the number of contestants in any kind of conest has to do with the reward.

I think what we really need, are more dedicated members. Sure, there's a few people that always post and you always see. If you've ever been to the Suikosource, SARS, or Their Star forums; now there are some dedicated people. Everyone there are genuine Suikoden fans, and something, anything, is being contributed.

You see, Suikoden isn't mainstream, so any kind of forum or chat would never be as active as, say, a Final Fantasy or Mario one would be. The only time a lot of people were talking about Suikoden was when the third one came out. And that only came out once. So... yeah.

I think the best bet we have now is to just invite new members and make more contrversial, interesting topics (Oh... I have one in mind). Anything could help really.

Of course, for the love of God, please do not try to advertise Suikoden and make it mainstream.

Because then it would be Suckoden.

No, Suikoden is not mainsteam. Just because it has great charatcers and stuff, that's sadly not what it takes to make a game popular like FF and KH. Suikoden has a cult following, and trust me, those who follow it should know that it's not mainstream. FF and KH however, have a rabid following and way too many fans for their own damn good.

Suikoden would be mainstream, if it was advertised like FF. Suikoden 2, which is on caliber with FF7, failed in the market simply because of a bad release time and poor marketing. And, because SI failed to make mainstream, none of the other ones did.

It is a sad, sad fact.

Just because it is superior in many ways does not make it mainsteam.

Hell, if it had graphics like FFXIII (you read that right) did, it still probably wouldn't make it into the major mainstream. And hell, Radiata Stories, which had the same great charcter development and even more characters than Suikoden, isn't mainstream. No matter how great a game is, if it isn't marketed properly or supported, it won't get mainstream'd.

Suikoden has a cult following. Obviously, you are not a part of them, because if you were, you would not deny the true and simple fact.
