I really wanted to write something, and then I was wondering what would happen if Yami and Yugi seperated and one of them died. So I wrote it out, and then I wanted to share. So, here it is, read it if you want. It's called Yugi's Love. Rated for slight Shonen-ai! Don't read if you can't stand it, but there is only a mention of it, nothing has ever happened! Nothing! Anyway, here it is^^.

Disclaimer: I do not own any yugioh characters in this story. Yugioh characters are copyrighted! (and a claimer) But Dawson is my creation, and will be used in future stories. Don't take him, please. Or Officer Michaels.

Yugi's Love, Chapter One: Enter A New Enemy, Inspector Dawson!

I don't really remember how it started, except that it was storming horribly while we were fighting. What were we fighting about? I can't even remember.
--
Yami really loved him, it wasn't like they fought all the time. No, don't say 'I didn't mean that--', I know what you were thinking. It wasn't like that at all.
--
What do you mean there was unexplained bruises on him? Are you going to arrest Yami?! Shut the--
Stop it, Joey!
Don't tell me what to do Kaiba!
He's not worth it; Yugi wouldn't want you to fight again.
(A sigh is heard on the recording)Fine.

The police officer turned off the recording and swiveled in his chair to face Inspector Dawson. "The whole thing's like that. Are you sure this boy Yami is abusive? It seems that ever since they met two years ago--." He was interrupted.
"Don't give me that sappy love story all over again. I don't want to hear it, it was all over the news.
"Two years ago, shortly after the defeat of the large monster that was invading from the air, the King of Games met the beautiful Yami. He then proceeded to give up his title, now defended by Seto Kaiba, and spend his time quietly with his friends. Sometimes, he would give interviews, but only when the building of the new Duelist Academy with KaibaCorp was involved. Other then that, the public stopped seeing him, and hearing from him.
"At the age of 16, Yugi Motou was the second richest teenager in Japan due to publicity. He had hated all that money and nothing to do with it, so he began building the Academy for children who couldn't easily learn Dueling Monsters on their own. Blah blah blah blah blah, I know the story."
"Then you should know that they loved each other very much."
"I don't care about the feelings of two homosexual men! I'm here to solve the questions of unexplainable bruises on the body of one of the richest men in the country." Inspector Dawson frowned and stood up rudely, slamming his hands down on the table. The police officer followed him as he left.
"Don't arrest the boy!" he pleaded. "Yugi Motou died in a car crash, they could have come from that."
"I will determine who gets arrested, Officer." the inspector said pointedly and left the room while putting on his hat and slamming the door behind him. The officer sighed and sat at his desk, remembering how just a few weeks ago the happy couple had said hello to him.

Yugi smiled and waved at Yami as his love finally appeared. "It was so lonely without you," he complained and threw his arms around the other's neck.
"I was only gone for a few hours, and isn't the park fun enough to keep you busy?"
"Not today!"
"Why is today so special?"
"Oh, I can't believe you forgot," Yugi faked pouting and turned away. Officer Michaels, standing nearby, couldn't help laughing.
"What's so funny, Officer?" Yami asked with a twinkle in his eye as he turned to face him, his body moving to be behind Yugi.
"It's just that you two," the officer waved his hand in the air, "aw, never mind."
"Tell us?" Yugi pleaded with the cutest puppy dog eyes. Yami nodded his consent and stared pointedly at the officer.
"Tell us."
"Every day, Yami gets off work at the same exact time. Yugi gets off three hours earlier to go to a meeting with KaibaCorp about this new school, am I right?" He barely waited for their nods. "Well after the meeting's done, he runs all the way over here, hoping he doesn't make it after you do, and still has to wait half an hour. Every weekday the cycle continues, and every day you say the exact same thing to each other, except not today."
Yami and Yugi stared at each other for a while. "Wow," Yugi said finally, "he's right."
"So what makes today so special?"
Yami and Yugi turned to him and answered together, as if planed. "It's our anniversary!"

And then, not seven hours later, that youthful smiling face was gone and Yami Atemu was collapsing in his arms after the news. He couldn't believe that a reaction like that, that those dead eyes as Yami stood, could be faked. No matter how much proof they lay before him.

Yami lay listlessly on the couch, his legs covered by a blanket and his head trying to drown out the loud pounding at his door. Usually Yugi would answer the door.
He started crying again at that, and cursed himself inside. Then he sat up and turned off the television with the remote, rubbing his eyes with the other hand. As he opened the door, he noticed with a surprise that it wasn't one of the gang but an intimidating man taller then Kaiba by a good inch.
"What do you want?" he asked listlessly and moved into the kitchen for a glass of water. Inspector Dawson waited until Yami turned of the faucet and began taking a sip.
"I want to arrest you."
Yami choked on his water as his eyes widened as he dropped the glass. The inspector apathetically watch it fall and shatter before pulling out his gun and pointing it at Yami's forehead. "What are you doing?"
"I don't have a warrant yet," the Inspector warned him with cold eyes, "but be warned. I despise homosexuals, but even more then that I hate men who take advantage of little children. I'm going to arrest you someday, and someday soon."
"What proof do you have?"
"Nothing but your name. The darkness feeds on the light, Mr. Atemu. Even if you didn't kill him, you certainly were constantly draining his energy. Did you think that someone as innocent and pure as Yugi Motou could actually live inside your darkness forever. You killed him, you forced his death." Yami winced, and his heart began to pound.
The kitchen door slammed open suddenly, and there was Joey, Tea, and--Kaiba?
"You leave him alone!" Joey shouted in his powerful accent. "Or I'll have you arrested for police brutality."
"Fine," the inspector put his gun away. "My card." He flicked it at Kaiba, who caught it, surprised. Then he pushed through the small crowd and headed for the door.
As soon as the door clicked back into place, Yami collapsed onto his hands and knees, tears streaming unchecked down his cheeks. His hands began bleeding from the glass on the floor, and he was breathing heavily as Joey turned him over and sat him in his lap.
"You okay, pal?"
"The air," Yami closed his eyes and leaned against Joey. "The air was so heavy! I thought I was going to die."
"You will if we don't clean your hands," Tea exclaimed as she lifted them. "Kaiba, can you get the first aid kit out of the bathroom?" As Kaiba left, he handed Joey the card the man had given him.
"Take a look at this." Joey blinked, then read the card out loud.
"'Inspector Andrew Dawson, Tokyo Police Headquarters, Japan.' Yikes, this guy is heavy. He's got more degrees then I've ever seen before. And in all sorts of things too. Science, math, law, business... he's real heavy."
Tea sighed as she began to pull pieces of glass out of Yami's hands. Yami had already fallen asleep. "You know," she said softly. "The pharaoh can't deal with this right now. Not another police officer. Not after Yugi died on their anniversary."
"I know, Tea, which is why we've got to stand by him, no matter what proof this hot-shot inspector has."
"Exactly." Kaiba entered the room and crouched down by Tea. "But first we need to clean his hands up." Suddenly, the doorbell rang, and Seto stood up. "I'll get it, it's probably Mokuba and Tristan." He put the kit down and walked down to the door.
