Bright Eyes definitely holds its own as being one of the most original emo bands, and Connor Oberst is excellent when it comes to being emotional.
My favorite, however, would have to be a local band called A Seperate Skyline. They have a LOT of talent for being a bunch of teenagers.

Oh man, Conor Oberst was in EVERY magazine. I have Bright Eyes downloaded but I haven't listened to it yet.
I'm not much of an emo junkie, but I'm willing to listen.

I definitely don't want to be counted as an emo junkie. I have very small limits as to how much emo I can stand, and Bright Eyes seems to push that limit very easily.
As does A Seperate Skyline... and Refused, but I'm not so sure they're emo.

Eh, i don't like screamo.
Although it's a a sub-genre or emo, i just can't really relate to screaming.
I tend to approach thing a bit more laid back.

Is Weezer really emo? I never considered them as such.
Heh, how do you think this guild will be perceived if I make a Dashboard Confessional banner? Now that is emo....

Weezer practically gave birth to emo.
Bright Eyes is good, and awesome in concert. However I still like Oberst's Desaparacidos better, despite them only release one short album. Also they aren't emo.
I haven't been doing the emo thing too much lately, but when I did almost anything off of Saddle Creek records was a gold mine. Dashboard confessionals annoys me because of their lyrics of every song are basically saying the same thing, but they do make some hella catchy music.

My Chemical Romance and Kill Hannah are my two favorite emo bands, but I like a lot more. I've never listened to Bright Eyes, but I will download them and add them to my launch cast.
