Okay, so this is an entertainment forum, ne? Well I, being the bookworm that I am, have decided to create a book discussion. You can discuss favorite books, authors, genres, etc. Oh, and graphic novels, if you feel so inclined.
Hmm, I'll post a few of my favorites.
The Redwall series, Brian Jacques The Historian, Elizabeth Kostova His Dark Materials trilogy, Phillip Pullman C. S. Lewis J. R. R. Tolkien The Blue Sword and The Hero and the Crown, by Robin McKinley Interview With the Vampire, by Anne Rice Fahrenheit 451, by Ray Bradbury And some graphic novels...
Chrno Crusade, by Daisuke Moriyama Fullmetal Alchemist, by Hiromu Arakawa Hellsing, by Kouta Hirano And many, many others...
I think I'll stop here, because reading long lists of books is boring.

Ah yes. Books.
I like books that help me solve my problems. Like when I can't figure out a puzzle in a game, I turn to a strategy guide. Or I don't know what to make Eric for supper, so I lean to a cookbook. Sometimes, I don't know how to work with my mental problems, so I consult a good mental health book. 3nodding
For entertainment, I like to read stuff like Artemis Fowl or Harry Potter. I know I'm 20 and those are written for a younger audience, but as intellegent as I might come across to you guys, I can't read and remember a lot of big books that are ment for adults. Seriously, I am a 12 year old trapped in a 20 year old body. I also love plays by Samuel Beckett, because the man was a genious.
More often than not, though, I find myself reading manga. My favorites are Rurouni Kenshin, Ai Yori Aoshi, Full Metal Alchemist, and plenty of Final Fantasy doujinshi.

Fahrenheit 451 by Mr. Bradbury is amazing!!!!!
I read it for school! It kinda makes you think, doesn't it???
Well, some of my fav reads are: The Sight Firebringer The Alchemists of Barbal, all by David Clement-Davies.
Another is The Bartimaeus Trilogy by Jonathan Stroud
And, I just finished The DaVinci Code by Dan Brown.

Oh God, why'd I have to see this thread? Books are my life! I think it would be easier for me to list my fave authors, if that's okay.
Piers Anthony
J. R. R. Tolkien
Orson Scott Card
Edgar Allen Poe
C. S. Lewis
Brian Jacques
Charles Beaumont
Ray Bradbury
That's all that come to mind right now. Oh, and Shakespeare. People think it's strange that I can actually understand Shakespeare.
Yeah, I'm a literature freak xp .

Don't worry, I'm a literature freak too. Actually, I won an honerable mention in the Heart of America Shakespeare Poster and Sonnet contest for a poster I submitted. whee
Ah, The DaVinci Code. I've wanted to read that for soooo long! It's always checked out at our local library, though. Another one I've wanted to read is The Templar Legacy, but my mom has it checked out right now. This doesn't happen very often, because usually my mom reads... romance novels... Bleargh. I don't really like romance novels, or teenie-bop books like The Clique series. gonk Never in a million years will I read that.

Honestly, I dispise the DaVinci Code and the book almost just like it called Angels and Demons. I am not a fan of Dan Brown, because he writes for stupid people, IMHO.

There has been a lot of controversey over the book's content. Is saw a news report yesterday about the movie, and the reviewers are bashing it.

Heh, that's not surprising. There will always be people dead set against some things just because it goes against their beliefs. They have their opinions; I have mine. I leave it at that.
We could go deep into a discussion about religion, censorship, and etcetera, but this is a book discussion. Let's try not to get carried away? sweatdrop
More favorite graphic novels:
Aquarion Age: Juvenile Orion Anything by CLAMP Trigun Nausicaa of the Valley of Wind

Ah, so you are a CLAMP fan! Nothing wrong with that.
My favorites by CLAMP have to be either CardCaptor Sakura or Wish. Chobits, however, is annoying.

Mmmm, CLAMP. Yup, Cardcaptor Sakura, Magic Knight Rayearth, and RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE Tsubasa are probably my favorites. Oh, and Legal Drug. And xxxHolic. Sigh, the list goes on and on. I like a bunch of them. Yeah. I've really wanted to read X1999 and Clover, but I can't really find them... or afford new manga at this point in time.

Two very popular and very good manga, Sora. 3nodding
Plus, in the anime, Greg Ayres is Satoshi in DNAngel! whee Eeeee! Also, Dark is played by Vic Mignona, which I personally think is soooo perfect, even though I wouldn't have thought of that! But this is a book discussion, so the seiyuu fangirlyness must go somewhere else. sweatdrop
Another one of my favorite authors: Christopher Paolini. His books are awesome, because they make me feel geeky happy inside, and he's a really cool guy in person. I actually have a signed copy of both Eragon and Eldest. Oh yeah, there's the movie coming out sometime remotely soon, too. Plus, since I have the hardcover versions, they're not exactly small books and perfect for slugging muggers over the head with! blaugh

That's what I'd use the unabridged oxford dictionary for.
I mean, two unbelievably thick books in which you need a magnifying glass to see the words written in that TINY little font!
