The Land of the Stone. When Númenór fell, the sons of Elendil took five ships and fled the ruin. They landed south of the great Elven-kingdoms of the north, and here built the great cities and towers of Gondor, which would long be remembered. Minas Anor and Minas Ithil, both great towers nigh unassailable, would be the homes of Isildur and Anárion, but their capitol would be the great city of Osgilliath, the Fortress of Stars, along the Anduin. The Dúnedain of the South were much more scattered than their northern kinsmen, making homes in the lands of Ithilien, Anórien, Calenardhon, and the southern fiefs; some even amongst the Elves of Belfalas.

Minas Ithil - Courtyard

Anárion, son of Tar-Elendil, rides up the long stone path towards the great fortress of Minas Ithil. Constructed at the base of the soaring Ephel Dúath, the Tower of the Rising Moon stands guard against the evil of Mordor. Rain falls heavily on the narrow dirt road as the party from Osgiliath approaches the city gate. He raises his hand and signals to the gate guards to open the massive gates of the fortress. The rain has soaked right through the Prince's clothes and he is eager to settle down indoors. The guard, recognizing the Prince by his silver armor and noble attire, signals to his comrades to open the doors. Anárion and his party thunder through the massive gateway and into the large courtyard area of the city where the Prince dismounts and signals to a messenger who has come running out of the Citadel.

Take me to the Prince and Lord Gil-galad, he shouts at the messenger through the loud rain. Tell them Prince Anárion and the Princesses Isilien and Kareswen have arrived!

Minas Ithil - Courtyard

Isilien follows Anárion into the fortress, squinting through the heavy rain at the towering walls of the fortress as they pass under the large gateway into the city. Raindrops slap against stone and she finds she has to strain to hear what her husband is saying to the messenger as she hops off her horse. A stable boy runs out into the down pour to grab hold of the reins of Isilien's horse and the elven prciness thanks him graciously. She moves to stand close to Anárion, taking hold of both sides of her cloak and folding them over her shivering form. She, like everyone else, is anxious to see Isildur and most especially, her Father.

Minas Ithil - Courtyard

Kareswen follows Anarion and Isilien into the fortress, the hood of her cloak covering her face from any rain hitting her face directly. Once inside, she dismounts her horse, and walks over to Isilien. While waiting Kareswen begins to feel the cold rain and wind, she pulls her cloak tighter around herself to keep warm.
However, no amount of rain or wind will keep her away, and she waits anxiously to see her husband and the ones who helped in his rescue.

Minas Ithil - Courtyard to Houses of Healing

The rain pours down on Minas Ithil. Thunder rumbles in the distance and every once in awhile, a bright flash illuminates the sky. The messenger Anárion addresses fidgets nervously and awkwardly bows again.

M-My Lord, King Gil-galad and Prince Isildur have been taken to the Houses of Healing. Both were gravely injured...

Anárion frowns and looks back to the two women beside him, his expression worried. He reaches out and takes Isilien's hand into his own trembling hand and with the other, clasps Kareswen's shoulder. He pauses for a moment offering comfort and support, and then without a word, turns and hurries off towards the great house of the healers. Striding towards the house, Anárion's expression remains blank while a whirlwind of emotions rages within: worry and concern for his brother and Father-in-law, fear....and hatred towards the Dark Lord.

The Warden of the Houses of Healing greets the party at the doors of the House and ushers them in to dry off before warm fires. The Warden is a kindly middle-aged man who sets the house staff to work, preparing clean clothes and a warm meal for the travellers. Anárion thanks the man for his kindness but insists he take them to his charges.

Prince Isildur, and King Gil-galad, please.

The Warden, who is named Meridan, hesitates and then nods in silence before turning to lead the group up a flight of stairs and down a long dim hallway. Meridan does not say a word about the condition of his charges and Anárion worries. As they near the door at the end of the hall, the Prince feels his stomach tighten in anticipation. The plain oak door is slightly ajar and soft light peeks out into the dimly lit hall. Meridan knocks ce before pushing the door open. Once inside, he steps aside and allows the others to enter. Anárion takes a deep breath and steps into the room, prepared for the worst.

Minas Ithil- Houses of Healing

Isilien's breath stops short at the messenger's words and she begins to shake even more. Anárion's comforting hand is the only thing that keeps her from retreating into her mind to confront all the what-ifs that threaten to break her down. Her Father injured? And Isildur? Before she has time to hink any more, her husband is striding away towards the Houses of Healing. Isilien takes Kareswen's hand and leads her sister-in-law to follow Anárion to the House. She does not allow Kareswen the time to think about what the messenger has said, knowing all too well the implications can be devastating.

Entering the House behind Anárion, Isilien smiles weakly to the generous Warden and, still holding on to Kareswen's hand, follows the Warden and her husband up the stairs and down the hallway. Her cloak is sopping wet and heavy, her body chilled to the bone, but Isilien cares not. She silently prays to the Valar for her loved ones' health as she enters the large room at the end of the hall.

Minas Ithil - House of Healing

Kareswen hears the messenger’s words, but does not have time to think about them because her thoughts are interrupted by Anarion’s hand upon her shoulder, before he heads for the House of Healing. As soon as Anarion heads for the healing houses, Kareswen feels Isilien take her hand and lead her, again interrupting her thoughts. However she is thankful, she has no desire to think about what the Dark Lord has done to her husband and what state he will be in when she sees him.

Entering the house just behind Isilien, as she is still holding onto her hand, Kareswen give a small smile to the Warden as he leads the three up the stairs and down a hallway. All thought of her wet attire forgotten, she sighs, preparing for the worst, but praying for the best as she enters the room that holds her husband and other loved ones.

Minas Ithil :: Houses of Healing
Ereinion Gil-galad

Quickly, Ioreth drew Gil-galad back to his bed, so that he could more quickly be healed of his wounds, but she did so gently, so as to not further harm him. She carefully drew the sheets and quilts over him, for his wound was draining the very strength of the king, and he was beginning to shudder, though ever so slightly. And thus it was that Gil-galad found some rest, at least, and his pains were alleviated.

He was in a deep slumber for several hours, and it was a blissful sleep, for already the athelas drew the Black Breath from his body. It was while he slept that the Eagles departed, save Gwaihir, he remained nested upon the Ephel Dúath, awaiting the awakening of Isildur and Gil-galad. And while he waited, clouds out of the east arose, and the heavens let loose their rains.

Eventually, Gil-galad awoke, and already his injuries were greatly lessened. But it was not long before Ioreth reappeared. "My lord Gil-galad, " she softly said, with a caring smile upon her elderly face, as she was delighted he was awake, "you have guests who would wish to see you. I would assume you would desire to look upon your daughter’s face?"

Gil-galad smiled. "Yes. I would like that."

Thus, Isilien and her family entered the Houses of Healing, and found Gil-galad seated upon his bed, wearing a wonderful smile, for he loved his family.

Minas Ithil - Outside the House of Healing

Glorfirith saw family members of the injured pass her and go into the House of Healing. She remained outside just watching. She figured this would be the best thing to do because she would only manage to get kicked out knowing her luck if she went inside. Waiting outside isn't all that bad. She enjoyed watching the people. She didn't know them all that well as she spent the majority of her time with Elves. Other than her friend Illoras, she rarely spent time with any. So waiting outside was no loss, merely another form of entertainment.

Indis awoke so suddenly, she bolted upright. All she saw was a darkness. She was swept with a wave of fear, and for a moment she thought she had been taken captive by Gorthaur. But this place certainly did not smell like Mordor, and just the fact that she was on such a soft bed told her that she was no longer in Mordor. She breathed a little easier, but she still worried about her eye sight. She tried to lift her hand to see if she could see it in front of her face, but most of her body felt numb and lifeless. She could move a bit, but not much.

She had to get out of here. Something was wrong with her. What had happened? Her memory was hazy. She some effort, she swung her legs over the side of the bed. Could she walk? She had to try. By now her eyesight had improved to a dark blur, with bloches of light here and there. Windows maybe? She set her feet on the floor, testing how much they could hold, finding only that she could barely feel the floor, her feet were so numb. Trying to stand, her legs gave out and she collapsed to the floor. She heard a pot break and few feet away, sending it's contents over the floor. She groped around for something, anything. She prayed no one found her in such weakness.

Minas Ithil~House of Healing

After being reassured by various nurses that he is not seeing a vision manipulated by Sauron, Isildur silently thanks the Valar that he has been brought to safety. He is curious about the details of his rescue, and he hopes that all of his rescuers escaped Mordor, but he can get no information, only orders to rest. Despite his frustration, the smell of athelas in the room causes Isildur to drift back to sleep, and it is a much more restful sleep than when he was unconcious before. Now, nightmares about eyes shining with malice do not haunt him, though whenever he shifts in sleep his many wounds trouble him.

When Isildur awakens several hours later, it is to the Warden knocking on the door. As the door opens, and Isildur's family enters, the Prince of Gondor grins with pure joy. It is a promising sign, given the severity of his injuries.

Minas Ithil- Houses of Healing

Nadorhuan walks towards the Houses of Healing wondering when he will get a chance to go to mordor and attack his enemies. As he walks inside he sees that most of the people here are recovering and others that are resting.
((I know this isn't the best but this is my first RP entry. As I spend more time here hopefully I will get better.))

Minas Ithil :: Houses of Healing
Ereinion Gil-galad

Gil-galad as getting quite anxious. It had been at least twelve minutes since that fair maid Ioreth had informed the Elven-king of fair Isilien and her husband Anárion's arrvial, and yet even still the room was bare, and none entered. Even the Elven-king, who was known for his patience and understanding, was getting to be quite irritated.

But we was confined to his bed, and so he could do little to amuse himself, save sing. And thus he sang, and his words captured the ears of all Dúnedain, for the song he chose was a memory of tragic events that were still but all too near.

"Ilu Ilúvatar en kárë eldain a fírimoin
ar antaróta mannar Valion: númessier.
Toi aina, mána, meldielto - enga morion:
talantië. Melko Mardello lendë: márië.
En kárielto eldain Isil, hildin Úr-anar.
Toi írimar. Ilyain antalto annar lestanen
Ilúvatáren. Ilu vanya, fanya, eari,
i-mar, ar ilqa ímen. Írima ye Númenor.
Nan úye sérë indo-ninya símen, ullumë;
ten sí ye tyelma, yéva tyel ar i narqelion,
íre ilqa yéva nótina, hostainiéva, yallumë:
ananta úva táre fárea, ufárea!
Man táre antáva nin Ilúvatar, Ilúvatar
enyárë tar i tyel, írë Anarinya qeluva?
"

And Gil-galad glanced about the Houses of Healing, and all who had dwelt upon Númenór had fixed their eyes upon him, for they were Faithful, and they knew that poem well, for it was they who had sang it.

Minas Ithil - Houses of Healing

Isilien hears her Father's song before even entering the room and her heart is gladdened. Following Anárion and the Warden into the room, Isilien spies her Father sitting in bed and rushes to his side. She kneels before him and listens, gazing up at the King of the Noldor in wonder. Overjoyed that her Father seems to be alright, she sits in silence, not having the heart to interrupt his sad song.

Minas Ithil - Houses of Healing

Anárion enters the room to find his older brother grinning. The younger Prince of Gondor strides over to his brother's bed and holds out his hand to Isildur, grinning himself. His brother's safe return has lifted the stress that lay heavily on his heart. He can feel himself breathe again.

Brother! Glad to have you back.

Turning to Gil-galad who lies in the bed close by, Anárion drops to one knee with head bowed.

My Lord Gil-galad, Gondor is forever in your debt for returning her Prince.
