I play DDRMAX for the PS2 and I just unlocked this unbelivably hard song, Gradiusic Cyber by Big O feat. TAKA, any tips.
P.S. I can beat it, but only with a C

Lessee....I think I only have an A in that still, but here's what I'd try:
First of all, get comfy with sixteenth strings. -SandStorm (HVY), MAX 300 (STD/HVY), and a lot of other 8-footers work well for that.
Other than that, training mode and lots of practice. sweatdrop

Unbelievably hard? Don't think so. I can almost pass it with a AA, but keep getting too many Greats.
Wait 'till you unlock MaxX Unlimited, then.

MaxX Unlimited is DDRMAX2, and Max 300 is unlocked long before Gradius Cyber. Besides, Gradius Cyber was a hard song for me before, and I'm sure you probably had some trouble with it too at one point.

I don't even play the song because I don't have DDR Max... Only Max 2, Extreme, Extreme 2, and not to mention Konamix. But from what I hear it is a 9 footer?

I thought it was an 8-footer. xp You people really should consider that not everyone is as good as you, and try to be helpful instead of hurtful. -I know, that sounds really pansy and all, but you really shouldn't waste your time and others' time simply mocking people.

That's not called mockery. The discussion is about the song, he mentioned his grade, I mentioned mine. :/ I have every right to call it an insanely easy song, just as he has every right to call it hard.

Jeez, you guys are terrible.
Firstly, I'd like to say that the statement "Nothing in DDR is hard" is completely subjective, so it's impossible to argue it either way. So just stop.
And secondly, if I'm not mistaken, the thread poster simply asked for tips on how to get a better score for a certain song.
Nowhere in there does it say "Hey everybody! Post about how better you are than me! Yaaaayyy~!". We all know half of you can AA anything you damn well please, so there's no need to repeat it in every thread.
But anyway. I'm going to actually try to offer some helpful advice to the poster now. rolleyes
So, I'm guessing you're talking about Graduistic Cyber (AMD G5 Mix), and if not... then nevermind everything I'm about to say. XD
From what I can remember, GC has a lot of chaos (random 16th notes and such), so you have to visually read it moreso than listening to the beat. Just watch carefully to see what kind of stream is coming at you, and move appropriately.
You could practice it in Practice Mode, with the hand-clap and metronome enabled. That should help you learn the basic pattern of steps in it, and how to time each step you do. Turn down the speed if needed.
Other than that, just keep practicing. Try practicing other songs with a lot of chaos and random steps, that may help you.

Bleh, once again something I say gets taken the wrong way. First of all, to an ITG player, it's pretty much impossible to call DDR songs hard (except you, L'amour et la liberte. You're an 11 foot, get over it.). Yes, I know he was asking for tips. Yes, I know I wasn't giving him any. By mentioning my AAA, I was trying to show him that it's not as unbelievably hard as it looks. Do I need to remind everyone of HexaDakota? THAT is called being "terrible". I was trying to be encouraging. -.-
