 - Location - North of the Durem Reclaimation Facility, the Durem Caves are considered off limits by Durem officials, but it is very laxed in enforcement. The cave has no signifigance to most people. - People - There are no people that regular here as for the common knowledge. The occasional teenager will make the occasional dare to the occasional friend. One generally would have no reason to go here, other than curiosity. Half of Durem is unaware it exists. - Resources - There are no special resources here of any kind, not even minerals or animals. - Rumors - There is a rumored secret lab deep under the cave's opening, but it currently remains unconfirmed.

A man would be standing there, at the enterance, in silence. His hands gripped and released quietly in his white cotton gloves. Above him, a direbat circled overhead, the arm of some poor little boy caught in it's talons, the shoulder onward missing. "...Where are they?"
Vidunder the Beast stood quietly.

((Sounds like fun, I'll bite))
Two black Ford Explorers, up armored models specialy modified for the transport of VIP, pulled up the entrance of the Durem cave. The vehicles were unmarked. Two men in black trench coats, overalls, and black dress hats exited the vehicle. Each of the kept two silenced 9mm beratas under their coats, along with a set of documents and a portable communications device. They said nothing as they shuffled their equipment out of the back of the vehicles and walked toward the entrance of the cave, noticing an unexpected guest. They looked at one another, nodded, and then approached.
In Durem, a small convoy of black trucks waited in an old garage. Overhead, two watchers surveyed the area.
((Eek, if I stepped in something I shouldn't have, feel free to consider this posts either before or after your events. Or if you really wants, I can erase it and use it later.))

((Mr. Yaits, a pleasure. I do hope my other character might just get up to meet around yours.))
Vidunder turned, looking to the large SUVs as they pull up. Naturally, the man would stand out, his highly pale skin almost lumonescent. He was in, of all things, a tuxedo, and appeared entirely unarmed.
"Are you the gentlemen I hired?" He seemed to be honest enough in his question, not a note of patronization or sarcasm on his lips.
((Oh no, actually, it's all open invite. Not setting anything up, yet. There will be some activity around here eventually.))

They were not the men that were hired, but they couldn't just abandon their assignment because of an unexpected character. They needed to find out what was happening first.
"What exactly would you want us to do?" asked the man to the right as he shifted his hat and examined the stranger carefully, his name was Carl, phrasing his words carefully. The other man stood calmly, his arms over his waist, waiting to see how the situation played out. He glimpsed up at the direbat with the human arm in it's claws, then looked calmly at the ground. Backup was just around the corner, but it would be unwise to make a scene, even in a place like this.

Vidunder would waste no time, because if they weren't the men hired, then they might not make it back anyways, if he was right, so what in god's name did he care? "Well, Gentlemen, I simply need you to head down into those caves and begin a search. I did, after all, hire Barton's best, did I not?"
Now, as typical with most worlds, the best, and then those who claim to be the best are two different things, but he was going with the advertised articles, at the moment.
"The cave's top floor has been more or less mapped, but otherwise, it's uncharted. You've no doubt heard the rumors, so God only knows what to expect."

"A search?" Carl said knowingly, he didn't bother asking for a name that would most likely be made up. "I'm sorry sir, but we are representatives of Yaits City and Durem law enforcement, here to conduct a government investigation into some recent disapearances."
It was a good lie, and excellent cover, and they had the papers to back it up. What they were really after was most likely the same thing there little unexpected friend was after.
"We're going to have to ask you to leave," the other man, Bill, said calmly, but with distinct authorities. "You can continue your work here at a later time."

Vidunder seemed horribly unhappy with this result, but sighed all the same. He was conducting some illegal activity. "Ah, yes, very well. You didn't look much like adventurers at anyrate anyways. Much more like desk workers." He shrugged and nodded, walking off in the direction of the D.R.F.
The direbat was heard above, skreeing to follow it's master, dropping the arm, which landed at Bill's feet with a sickly thud.
((I'll remain close by, don't worry.))

Bill stared at the arm thoughtfully, shivering slightly as Carl picked up his communication device and whispered into it.
"White Male, possible lich, pale glowing skin, wearing a tuxedo with white gloves. Last known heading from Durem Cave in the direction of Durem Reclamation Facility. Follow suspect and report all findings back to headquaters."
With that out of the way, they entered the cave. As soon as they were in, three armed gaurds in police uniform took posts at the entrance of the cave.
Meanwhile, headquaters was already keeping tabs, a small watcher flew above Vidunder silently, without even as much noise as an insect would ussually make.

Vidunder would only make it to the Reclamation Facility when he felt the sensation of eyes on him, which was made confirmed by the direbat. "...Garr... capture me that object, would you? Ards, help him."
The direbat turned and quickly flew at the watcher, because as long as it was solid, the bat's echolocation would catch it. Furthermore, Ards was refering to something that slithered from the pool of the Facility. It was no more than a pile of chains, it seemed, eventually standing to life at the size of a human male, it's height and weight hard to determine. Furthermore, one might recognize it as the chain snakes that once made up the A.R.D.S. in Old Leviathan. This being looked into the sky and saw Garr, and shot into the sky after it.
Neither creature made a sound. Vidunder would continue on, uninterested.

Once the watcher knew it was detected, it cremated itself, leaving not even ash, just a puff of black vapor. It was small, underdeveloped, and not ready for any sort fight. Even if it had a slug, releasing it would be unwise, as they couldn't be easily controled, and this was a time for recon, not combat. However, it looked like this one would be up to the human resources.
The other watcher would blend in to the top of Bill's black hat. It would be the guiding darkness for the two men who were entering. Who knows, an old lab may hold some exciting discoveries.
Unfortunately, Yaits External Security was a fledgling organization. The forces keeping an eye on him consisted of two, two man teams, each with a black Ford Explorer, silenced pistols, night vision binoculars, and a comunications device conected to the rest of the team and to Yaits corporate headquaters. These men were hired from a hodge podge of agencies, armies, and security organizations, hastily trained, and put into duty specifically for this operation.
One team was hunched behind a hedge a few hundred meters from the south side of the DRF. The other had set up camp behind a rocky outcroping to the north, about 34 meters away, and they remained on the ground, their binoculars focused on the target of their recon. Any suspicious activity would be reported back to headquaters, including the rise of the chain beast from the waters.

Vidunder sighed as Garr landed on his shoulder and Ards fell to his side. "...Hrm. Perhaps you had best get to that cave. Do you know if there is some kind of pipeline in the caves?"
Ards simply nodded, the low rustle of steel going through it's body. It looked up to Vidunder, it's only 'eye', a red chain snake, glowing at the master.
"I see. Try and get in there. I want to know everything they know." Which was all that was needed for Ards to jump backwards into the water. Ards did not seem to doubt Vidunder's control in the least. "Garr, we've got to get home..." And Vidunder burst into a flurry of bats, flying off in the direction of Barton.
Slithering through the pipes, Ards would be quickly climbing through to the pipelines of the Facility, which dump into a resevour(sp?) which is considered a natural source, all perfectly devoid of bacteria. Ards would slide free and plop into said pool, and slither to the land, more or less the same color as the surrounding rocks. It wasn't actually on the normal path, as one can usually tell as 'beaten'.

Last known heading was due east, toward Barton. In the cave, Bill consulted the map with the aid of a pocket flashlight. "According to headquaters, this should take us directly to the target, if it even exists."The GPS in their communication devices would map the cavern as they went along, preventing them from getting lost. So they went deeper into the base. As an added precaution, a man in brown camoflauge laid down a wire to retrace their steps. Following the wire would prove a quick way to extract whatever goodies they could find down here.
