Well, of course there's not much here so I decided to make this small thread about Hirameki Inetrnational. A company that translates interactive visual novels. So, what is a visual novel? Visual Novels are Basically a type of RPG. It's not like there's usually an RPG level up system, but you do make choices throughout the game that drives the storyline. Although some games with this same system, plus the combat of a normal RPG. For example: Nippon Ichi's/Xuse's Eien no Aseria, and Xuse's Spirit's Expedition in the Phantasmagoria. Plus Hirameki is releasing Peace of wonder this summer, which also features a battle system. Anyway, visual novels are usually heavily romantic in storyline and a huge number of them are ero (hentai) games. So far everything Hirameki has translated has been non-ero or edited by a port company. Besides that though, they're not all necissarilly romantic and their genres spread across the board. They're not as cool looking as anime, but the art is generally better, and I like them. Besides, there's plenty of anime based off of them. Hirameki Games List (ones marked with a * I can give detailed information on): Phantom of Inferno* (has an OVA that has been liscensed) Hourglass of Summer* (Has an OVA) Ishika and Honori* Day of Love* Tea Society of a Witch* Ever17: Out of the Infinity* (part of the infinity series, the only of which has been translated, works well as a stand-alone) Amusement Park* Exodus Guilty* (3 part series) Dragonia* Ai Yori Aoshi (Based off the anime series) Animamundi: Dark Alchemist* (this one you CAN be gay if you want to be. Inthe beginning it asks you if you could be immortal and pick one person to stay with you forever, what gender would it be. You have three answers: A man, a woman, or either.)Peice of Wonder Yo-Jin-Bo Hirameki HP: http://www.hirameki-int.com/Hirameki has a survey on their online community you might want to take if you like visual novels: http://community.hirameki-int.com/modules/enqeute2/index.php?id=1By the way, some of their games are 17+ so watch out if you don't want to be surprised. Not adult, just a bit suggestive sometimes, I wouldn't worry about that rating too much. As far as 15+ games go... I have no idea of whay Hourglass of Summer is 15+ considering it's completely clean. Maybe it also deals with age group appeal? Trailers on You Tube: Phantom: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=30Vlbrq4r7o&search=phantom of infernoAnimamundi: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KPFB9dkJUN4&search=animamundiEver 17: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IpG1s6zHyD0&search=ever17Tea Society of a Witch: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7gmDNmlE55s&search=tea society of a witchOkay so not much of an update, but Hirameki will be attending AX this year. To no surprise. You might want to check out their website they have a $5 off coupohn page. That nets for all the games you buy. So if you buy .... lets say... 12 then you'd be saving $60... Alkthough I dunno if they'll have Piece of Wonder out by then... or Yo-Jin-Bo so there might only be 11 total.

For games that have a pretty high probability of being translated you may want to check the Digiturbo site: http://www.digiturbo.co.jp/ You might want to use one you recognise in the survey in the first post.
Another site with "clean" games for PS2 would be Princess Soft (Hourglass of Summer, W-wish, Final Approach, Finalist): http://www.oaks-soft.co.jp/princess-soft/princess-soft.html
KID (Ever17, Memories Off series) is another source: http://www.kid-game.co.jp/index_1.html
Other companies that I will not give the HP due to 18+ are: Project Navel (Shuffle!, Soul Link) Age Soft (Kimi ga Nozomu Eien) Alice Soft ACTRESS (Day of Love) Nitro+ (Phantom of Inferno) GIGA (does a lot of non-visual novels too. Some well known ones are Variable Geo, and Baldr Force,) Neko Neko Soft (Lamune, Mizuiro) August Soft (Hani Hani Operation Sanctuary) Groover Circus (Da Capo series) http://circus.nandemo.gr.jp/common/game/index.html (this is Circus' non-ero branch. [!they have a Mai-Hime game!]) Xuse (Eien on Aseria) Caramel Box (has one game being turned into an anime, but I can't say the name since I can't read kanji) Type Moon (Tsukihime, Fate/Stay Night) Orbit Soft Moon Stone Purple Software Project Lime (Navel spinoff, still in progress on their first game) Ivory Key (Kanon, Air) F&C (Canvas) Leaf/Aqua Plus (two separte groups as far as I know, but they work together. More well known titles are To Heart, and Comic Party.) Tama Soft Minori (Wind - A Breath of heart - [They have Makoto Shinkai as their movie direct for their games! O.O]) Candy Soft (Tsuyo Kiss) INTERHEART CROWD KLEIN 130cm By the way... There's a lot more I'm not listing.
This list may change and expand with time.

.//Im addicted to Dating Sims/Visual Novel games <3 Hirameki International pwns my soul for translating and releasing these. Most people that I try to talk about these games to freak out because they think all of them are Hentai-related (hm, well, a lot of mine are.. but still) and think thats just weird. I dont see the problem with it, personally, but I suppose a lot of people prefer real people compaired to these.
(Off those lists) That have been translated I own: Phantom of Inferno Hourglass of Summer Day of Love Tea Society of a Witch Amusement Park Exodus Guilty (first one) Animatmundi: Dark Alchemist (Only in japanese neutral Im getting the english one soon though)
Not translated, but Ive played: (I hope they get translated soon.. Ive read though guides that translate them though) Project Navel (I want to get Lime though) Fate Stay/Night <3

Ero-novels aren't bad. Well, most of them. I've played about ten or so by now. Although I don't think legally. I heard Jast is a translator of ero-games. I know they did a couple of the one's I've played. I think there the ones that translated X-Change... Maybe no though... Tokimeki Check In was MADE by the same group. Another pretty good one is Brave Soul, which is an RPG, with a good portion of humor. The AI's not bad either. Another one I've played is Let's Meow Meow, but that one's easy as hell. It basically asks you which character you want to end with. xp Hm... I'll definately need to buy Jast's stuff when I'm older. Oh and I can give a site that's making a English Patch for Shuffle! so you can buy the game and then play it in English. My brother also knows of a British Kanon patch. When I say British,I mean, British... You know... with some terms I wouldn't get if i didn't know what the hell they were talking about. Damn... I need to learn Japanese...

Yup... I'm goiung to be attached to Jast when I get older... Although their games aren't very long... Too bad... I like the 20 hour ones opposed to the 5 hour ones. Yeah I doubt they'll ever take KgNE, Air, or something on... too bad.

.//Haha, Im attatched to Jast products now xD
Ive played some games illegally too, I think everyone does that, lawlz.
X-change is the spiff, I love sims like that. X-Change and X-Change Ying-Yang are the spiff, I think they would have to be two of my favorites at the moment (that arent way too H). Its not as good as pure Yuri (they need more yuri games), but at some points the storys are spiff.
Ive heard of Brave Soul, but havnt looked into it too much, but it sounds like a pretty good rpg from what I have heard.
I havent played Lets Meow Meow, but it sounds interesting xD And easy isnt neccisarily bad, Ive had some games (usually not H though) that I couldnt get the endings I wanted until I read the help book.
=D Shuffle! <3 Id love a link to that ^^ Im gonna be cosplaying one of their characters this summer.
Im not old enough to buy Jast stuff myself, but I get others to buy it for me - so it all works out.
Long story plots are good, when they are done right. Some uber long ones get a little boring after a couple of hours, expecially when you dont get to a special event x_x;;
Hm, did they make a more h-rated version of Ishika & Honori or am I thinking of another game that looks like it?

I don't know about the Ishika and Honori since I haven't looked into that lately, but uh... The Shuffe! traslation is in she Shii website link. It's in editing stage, but uh... it hasn't nearly been fully coded, so they only have the first two days.
