"Yes, am I speaking to the guardian of Demare? You probably don't know me, but my kid came home crying yesterday after supposedly meeting with your child at the headquarters. May we schedule a meeting soon? Now? Alright, whose house? Yours? Let me get a sheet of paper to write down the address... Alright, see you soon."
Dropping the phone onto the reciever, Kimiko called out from the open door. "Mayu, hun? We're going to visit someone today, 'kay?"
"Alright, mom!" The Legend replied, drifting out into the hallway. The broken branch on her back had almost grown back to full size overnight, although it was still a few inches short.
Brandishing a dangerous-looking slip of paper, Kimiko waved for her daughter to follow her. They were going to visit a Ms. Neko today.

Neko picked up the phone after a couple of rings. It wasn't often they ever got any calls...
"Hello?" she asked, blinking a couple of times.
"Yes, am I speaking to the guardian of Demare?" came the voice from the other side.
"Er, yes... This is Neko. What can I do for you?"
"You probably don't know me, but my kid came home crying yesterday after supposedly meeting with your child at the headquarters. May we schedule a meeting soon?"
Neko's eyes twitched. That little...
"Yes, of course. We could meet now, if you'd like."
"Now? Alright, whose house?"
"If it's all right, I would like it to be my house. There's too many kids to leave unattended for too long."
"Yours? Let me get a sheet of paper to write down the address..."
Neko told her the address, her tail lashing about behind her as she surpressed her anger long enough to not start screaming too early.
"It shouldn't be too hard to find. We'll see you in a little bit."
"Alright, see you soon."
The demon hanyou waited to hear the click from the other line going dead before she gently set the phone down. She waited a moment, taking in a deep breath in an attempt to calm herself before taking a few slow steps to the stairs, stopping at the bottom.
She couldn't contain it anymore.
"DEMARE!!!!" she screamed at the top of her lungs up the stairs. "Get your butt down here, NOW!"
Demare almost tore the book he was reading in half. Geez, she was loud... Folding the book closed and setting it on the desk, the halfling got out of his chair and cautiously made his way to the door of his room, peering out into the hallway. She was downstairs...?? That made things even worse.
Walking out of his room and heading down the hallway, he stopped at the stairs and looked sheepishly to his guardian.
"Yes ma'am?" he asked softly, wondering what he'd done to make her so upset.
"Sit your a** down on the couch and don't move," she ordered, pointing to the living room sofa. "Company is on the way, and you've got some explaining to do."
Demare's wings folded tightly against his back, his neck shrinking into his shoulders a little bit. Oh dear... This didn't look good at all. After making his way down the stairs, he got himself over to the couch and sat down quietly, going through things in his head, wondering what had happened.

"Where are we going?" The Legend asked, hurrying after her guardian. It wasn't often that Kimiko would just drag her off on an unexpected trip, she was usually told of them beforehand so she could have time to prepare.
"You'll see," Kimiko replied, matching up the house number with the hasty scribbles she had made on the lined paper. "This should be it, I hope." She said, running up to the door and knocking furiously. In fact, if Mayu had not held her back, Kimiko's knuckles would have been bleeding.
Standing back, she waited for someone to open the door.

Neko was fairly quick to answer the door, only having been out of the room for a moment to get some tea ready. Tea usually helped people calm down, right? She knew she needed it, and the visitor might as well.
Upon opening the door, she was fairly surprised to see such a young girl that was angry, having expected to see someone at least a little older. A... child was raising another child?? She decided not to question it, as she'd seen odder things in her lifetime.
"I hope it wasn't too difficult to find the place," she said with a smile, trying to keep a calm demenor. Opening the door a little more, she stepped out of the way to let them through. "Please, come in and have a seat. Would you guys like some tea?"
As the door open, Demare frowned a little bit as he caught only a glimpse of silver hair before turning to look away. Mayu... So THAT'S why Neko was angry. Damn that Demian... It wasn't his fault what happened! A guilty look struck his features as the halfling sunk down into the couch, his eyes fixated on the floor. He wouldn't be able to look at them... How would he explain what happened? Would they even believe the truth?

"Thank you." Kimiko stepped in, shaking her head at the offering of tea. "Just ate. So, anyway..." She said, trying to think of a ... proper way to start the conversation. All she could think of was yelling!
Mayu shrunk back, standing behind her guardian. What was she here for? Couldn't Kimiko have let her stay home instead of dragging her to ... to the boy's house?! She didn't want another one of her branches yanked off!

Neko's gold eyes peered at the silver-haired child that seemed to hide behind her guardian. This was her Legend? She was interesting, and the branches made the demon hanyou curious, but she was more concerned with the fact that she looked scared.
"First of all, nothing is going to get done if we both simply start yelling," noticing the air around the black-haired girl. "Second, before I ask what happened, introductions are in order. My name is Neko, that is Demare as you already know. You two are...?"

"My name is Kimiko, and this is Mayu." Kimi gestured, ushering out the frightened girl from behind her back. Sighing, she sat down on an available seat, and looked to her daughter. She looked terrified, and was slightly shaking as she took a seat next to her guardian.
"So..." Kimiko murmured, trying to restrain herself from yelling. Biting her lip, she forced herself to remain calm. At least, until the actual conversation began.

Neko stood next to one of the chairs, but didn't sit down herself. Her tail flicked a little bit behind her, her ears folded back close to her skull.
"Now then..." she said, looking to Kimiko for a moment before turning to Mayu. "Mayu, what happened?"
Normally, she would have asked the guardian. However, she felt it necessary to have the Legends explain the stories themselves.

"Well," Mayu began, sighing. "Demare and I were outside and it was getting late. He looked like he was in pain for a sec, then calmed down and told me it was fine. And then he asks me if he can touch one of the branches so I said yes, and he yanks it off!"
If one looked closely, they would be able to see the branch growing slowly upon Mayu's back.

Neko couldn't help but smack a hand against her forehead, sighing heavily. Oh, Gods be damned...
"Demare, is that true?" she asked with a bit of annoyance.
Demare didn't lift his head.
"Y-yes, but..."
"What have I told you?" she asked, sitting down on the arm of the chair, turning to look at him. "I told you not to go out at night."
"I... I didn't mean..." Demare tried to explain, but there wasn't much he could say. After all, he knew the sun was setting, and he knew the dangers of staying around the girl. However, he'd simply let them pass because he wanted to stay there longer.
He finally looked up to Mayu with a sad expression on his face, his wings drooping down a little.
"I'm... I'm really sorry about what happened," he appologized. "I wanted to warn you... but I guess I was afraid you'd run away. M-my... my darker side took control of me last night. He got angry because I pushed him out of the body... and he took that anger out on you. S-so... I'm really sorry... I never wanted any of that to happen..."

"Darker side?" Mayu asked, a bit skeptical. She peered at him with pink eyes, trying to figure out whether or not he was lying. Well, his apology sounded sincere. She wanted to hear what he had to back up his side of the story.

Demare looked to the floor again after noticing Neko's nod to him, as if saying it was okay to explain. His wings finally stretched and flexed themselves a little bit as he sat upright, taking in a deep breath and exhaling it slowly.
"I'm a bit different from what most people would think," he started, looking once again to Mayu. "My body, as you can see, isn't exactly... normal. This body harbors two souls; one of a demon's, and one of an angel's. The boy you first met last night when you went to the headquarters was the same boy that took control of me and snapped one of your branches. He is the demon, Demian..."
He lifted a hand and placed it against his chest. "I am the angel, Clare."

Mayu nodded slowly as she absorbed all of this new information, matching it up to the past night's events. She was relieved to know that the kind boy last night had not broken her branch, and even smiled.
"Ah, okay. Apology accepted," she chirped, happy that she knew the full story now. Besides, she wasn't one to harbor a grudge.
"Well, I'm glad that's settled!" Kimiko blurted out, anger turning to laughter. "Another second, and I would have started yelling my head off."

Demare managed a weak smile, glad to know he was forgiven.
"If you would like, you may call me Clare," he said with a nod. "When Demian's in the body, he can't hear that name being called for some reason... That way you'll know if it's me or not."
"I'm sorry to put you through that," Neko said, standing up from where she was again. "Demian can be a little troublesome sometimes, but this is the first time I've heard of something like this happening."

"Alright," Mayu nodded. "I'll keep that in mind."
She stood up and stretched, throwing a glance over at the boy. "Well, now what?"
"It's okay," Kimiko nodded, "The important thing is that Mayu forgives him." She stood up as well, looking about.
