Jamaa lounged around the Mpinzani Pack lands with his mate, watching the many pups running around. He watched as Temari disciplined the little ones the best she could and yet they still continued with their games. However watching them brought up thoughts. Though he put on his mask to avoid any trouble, the two have gone through enough. Dhati and his mate went somewhere so it was just the Guardian, the Puppy-sitter, and the pups. However there was another wild dog here in the Mpinzani pack....wonder where she went?
Jamaa got to his feet and walked over to Temari, nuzzled her. "Hey Tem, Jamaa is going to go get a drink, Jamaa'll return soon." he he gave a lick and started off to the nearby watering hole as some pups began to follow but rushed back when he growled at them.

Lo and behold the missing dog was sitting at the edge and flicking her paw across the shimmering surface. It was a clear blue, the same gorgeous blue that her eyes reflected and she heard another dog coming. Her ears perked back as she looked up, over the last few days she had changed quite a bit. No longer was she utterly oblivious, nor did she stutter when she spoke, merely she didn't say much at all.

Jamaa's eyes looked down at the canine laying by the water's edge. This wild dog he hasn't seen in a very long time. Yakuti was one of two wild dogs he first met. Wonder where she's been.
"Hey, kid-" he paused. This wild dog had the same name as the little hyena he knew, confusing... "Hey, Yuka." he used her shortened, more perfered name. "How are you?" he asked, taking a seat next to her.

"Jamaa." she whispered. Her muzzle lifted and her calm eyes searched him, as if wondering why it'd been such a long time since they'd spoken. They were in the same pack, and even though he was obviously close to Temari, Temari was her best friend, so that presented some meager contact neh? Yet there had been none and now there was and Yakuti had no words for it really. She didn't have words for much anymore, but that didn't mean her happiness was hindered. There was a shimmering in her eyes as if she'd been thinking good things and she turned away and looked at the water again. A shrug served as her reply and a word as her question: "You?"

"Been going through tough times with Temari, y'know? You must've heard from Dhati or another one of the pack members." he replied, also staring into the crystalline water. "Though, I haven't been around lately. Coming and going, you know, right?" he stretched himself out. Forepaws pressed forward as his rear end pointed upwards, stretching his back. He finished quickly and laid himself down with his other feminine friend.
"Sorry Jamaa hasn't spoken to you lately. I've been going to and from the Pride Lands to gather my thoughts." he said bluntly. There was nothing to hide from this female, nor any other. Usually when he tried to hide something it was obvious. Jamaa smiled, "I sort of missed you, y'know?"

Yakuti had layed her head into her paws and she didn't feel like moving. Her ears perked up as she listened to his voice, in a way it was like a memory she couldn't recall. Her tail curled around her back leg as she looked across the water's surface, trailing to his reflection. The poor cloud colored female felt as if she was being confessed to or being told exscuses but of course she didn't mind, she merely whined in acknowledgement.
Eventually the female felt it was her job to answer her friend, "I know." It was all she could say, and she felt the trend of 'y'knows' would never end. It was like a bad video game (excluding the fact that in the African enviornment, and the fact that Yuka is a dog, there were no video games).

Jamaa's ears went flat. "So....did you hear about Kizaki?" he asked quietly. It still wasn't easy for him to say her name knowing that she's not there with them. Though now he can only recall his happy memories, the ones he really needed to get by. He smiled.
"Oh, nevermind, best not ask such a question now." he digressed. "Have you met anyone yet?" he asked bluntly, almost teasingly if he worked his voice tone correctly, which he could not. He smiled, not one of concern but of childish nature.

"Yes. I heard." she said quietly as well, as if pained to know that her best friend's pup was gone. In fact, she was pained, her best friend was so depressed about it when she'd come back that Yuka had felt so useless to her.
And at Jamaa's next question her ears perked up, wondering if she'd heard him correctly, "Mate?" Her words were chosen carefully, she didn't feel comfortable talking in long setences too much after she'd seen Temari. The only one she'd talk with was really Kiji, but that's because he was fun and not depressed like all the others here were now.

"Yeah, well. Jamaa hasn't seen you in so long, Jamaa thought you might've met someone or just talked to now and then." he said, smiling. Strange, talking to Yakuti was something he needed to cheer up. Wonder why?
"Jamaa met a few wild dogs in the past couple of days. They seemed nice, (with the exception of Dafina of course)." Okay, now he was prying into another's love life and their affairs. Jamaa knew though and really didn't care about the consquences were. Somehow, this Yakuti felt like a sister as the hyena Yakuti felt like a son.

Yakuti's paws covered her muzzle as she thought it over, there was Kiji, and he was really nice, but she wasn't sure if you'd think of him as her mate. Yuka liked him, this was true enough, but they were friends. Of course, the dog didn't think it could hurt to say it, "Kiji. He's nice. My friend." Again her words were short.

"Kiji?" he thought for a moment. The name sounded really familiar to him. "Kiji....vu?" he asked. Then it hit him. Kijivu was the Wild Dog he met when he was taking Yakuti back to the Elephant Graveyard so long ago. Since then he hasn't seen or heard of him.
"Jamaa knows him!" he shouted. He was glad otherwise he'd have to go into a series of questions. Much like a parent would with their growing young. "Know him long?" or maybe he was.

Yakuti was suprised at Jamaa's outburst and she shivered, whimpering. She uncovered her muzzle and shook her head, "Not long. But I like him. He's nice." She felt like she was repeating herself.

"Oh? So you don't know much about him? When and where did you meet?" his curiousity got the best of him as his questions flooded from him. "Is he nice like he was when I met him?"
Jamaa smiled. "I am happy for you, y'know?"

Too many questions that Yuka was fine with answering. Even talking about Kiji made her sentences longer (and he was the only who could do that). "I know enough. Met when it was raining... we played games in the rain..." A toothy smile appeared on her maw as she remembered that day, and it was a bit embaressing that she was still slightly awake when he whispered that he thought he loved her. She wouldn't tell that to Jamaa though she she fidgeted, making it obvious she was slightly embaressed. "Thanks?"

Jamaa smiled, this was probably the first time he has seen her do it too.
"Jamaa thinks you found yourself a nice mate, Yuka." he said with a sly toothy grin. "Maybe Jamaa should have a chat with him." it almost sound threatening and at the same time a joke and a tease. Jamaa's tail swung side to side as his rear eand was in the air and his front low to the ground, as if he was gonna pounce.
"Should Jamaa?"
