Top Ten Moments Of Heart-Stopping Drama
Ok so I haven't actually thought up 10 yet, I've only thought up 3 (and 1 of them only cos I was watching Earthshock last night) but the 10 part is not really important. I just wanted to know what other people thought of as the best moments of drama (or horror or action etc) in Doctor Who. This includes the Classic series and the New series - but it doesn't include moments of romance! This isn't anti-romance, I just thought I might start up a seperate thread for that (since it's become such a big part of the show now).
Anyway here are my moments so far:
* The First Doctor's death followed by the first ever regeneration. * The death of Adric (and arguably the death of the dinosaurs too - though I noticed no-one cried over them). * The first ever appearance of the Timelords.
Anyone else got any?

Those two are pretty good. I also want to add:
* The bit in the TV movie where the 8th Doctor is fighting the Master after the whole life-draining thing. * The re-appearance of the Emperor Dalek on the new series. I just remember hearing his voice on the episode before and it just made me go eek . I don't know why.

I'd have to say when, in Dalek (9), the Doctor thinks Rose is dead. That was such good acting...

i would have to say how no one know how the eight doctor died and regenerated...people thought he had dies in the time war, but the question is why dont they show part of the time war were the doctor regenerates?

My Top Ten moments in Doctor Who? Whew--that's tough!
I would have to say, possibly - and this iss a personal list, not necessarily listed in the order of importance:
1. The first time the Doctor regenerated, because it had never been seen before.
2. The first time the Doctor went back to Gallifrey
3. The Master being eaten by the TARDIS, and presumably gone for good.
4. The Master showing up on Gallifrey, burnt to a crisp.
5. The death of Adric
6. The return of the Doctor after long years of absence. (not exactly part of the story, butvery exciting for the fans)
7. The Doctor attacking one of his own companions.
8. The confrontation between the last Time Lord and the last Dalek.
9. Romana being beft behind in E-Space with no apparent way back.
10. The day Sarah Jane was sent home.

Die_cucco Roobarb The death of Adric (and arguably the death of the dinosaurs too - though I noticed no-one cried over them). I cried..... I like dinosaurs... crying You're right. I suppose that's because we all know that dinosaurs are extinct. It is certainly more interesting than killing them with a meteor or comet, which has still not been exactly proven, anyway, because there are a number of loopholes in the theory. I suppose we like nice, easy answers, and truth is rarely so simple.

TheFourthDoctor i would have to say how no one know how the eight doctor died and regenerated...people thought he had dies in the time war, but the question is why dont they show part of the time war were the doctor regenerates? Yes, I think it is a great tragedy that the 8th Doctor was denied a regeneration scene and was given only one story and a companion no one really liked that much. Everyone used to talk about how awful it was that the 6th Doctor was denied a regenration scene (I seem to remember that he was so angry about the way he'd been treated by JNT at the end that he didn't want to come back, not even to regenerate, but I couldn't swear to it.), but at least we had an explanation as to what happened to him. The 8th Doctor just vanishes, and an angry 9th Doctor lands in London. It is a very good, very believable explanation to suggest that he regenerated during the time war and was forced to flee, but that does leave us with the puzzler of why didn't the other Time Lords regenerate too? Surely someone else could regenerate and not simply die.
