'For some, autumn comes early, stays late through life where October follows September and November touches October and then instead of December and Christ's birth, there is no Bethlehem Star, no rejoicing, but September comes again and old October and so on down the years with no winter, spring, or revivifying summer. For these beings, fall is the ever normal season, the only weather, there be no choice beyond. Where do they come from? The dust. Where do they go? The grave. Does blood stir their veins? No: the night wind. What ticks in their head? The worm. What speaks from their mouth? The toad. What sees from their eye? The snake. What hears with their ear? The abyss between the stars. They sift the human storm for souls, eat flesh of reason, fill tombs with sinners. They frenzy forth. In gusts they beetle-scurry, creep, thread, filter, motion, make all moons sullen, and surely cloud all clear-run waters. The spider-web hears them, trembles - breaks. Such are the autumn people. Beware of them.'
A proficy
How does the excerpt affect the pair?: Bran and Abyss are Autumn people fighting against their nature. Bran ignores the call of sinners and weak people and the dark, black nature inherent to the Autumn people, holding the urges at bay with politeness and manners. Abyss shows more of her nature in both action and appearance, often playing those pranks and being mean-spirited about things. The tattoo markings are the only physical evidence to his being one of the Autumn people.
As they grow older, the struggle to suppress this nature will become more difficult. They subconsciously seek out 'sinners' and given the chance, incentive, and any moment of weakness in mind or soul, they will off the fear of others that they cause - or worse.
What does it reveal about..
Powers, talents, special traits?: Bran has the power to 'scent' out people with ill intent, those who could be considered 'sinners' as well as being able to tempt and urdge them into doing more of the same evil behaviour that first drew him. He derives a guilty sort of pleasure from finding these people.
I realize this could come dangerously close to godmodding but I have thought that out. If I intend to actually have him use his powers I'd contact the one I'm RPing with and ask permission for the suggestion to take affect. Also, since the others will know his power, they can freely chose when a casual phrase of his may carry some 'magical' weight and will cause them to act on it. It's just a nice opportunity for roleplay. Say he mentions something about taking a cookie before lunch, the RPer can chose if their FeeDee will be influenced or not.
Abyss can create illusions on herself, such as the one where she appears to change when you are not looking directly at her. It's nothing more showy than a trick of the light. She often uses this power to frighten people, her own guilty pleasure. She also tries to resist the urge to do such things, though isn't quite as good as resisting as Bran is. It's what he wants, though, and she tries her best.

What does it reveal about..
- .. their past?: It holds more as a warning to what they were, what they will become, should they fail to successfully resist the urges brought on by their nature.
.. how they are now that they are "reborn" as a Forgotten? Being reborn and in a new place with new people they have the chance to resist and fight against having a fate such as that. They believe they can walk their own path and are determined to never look back, to keep their eyes forward on the new days to be better people.
.. their future?: It stands as an ill Omen, a challenge for them to overcome. As they age the temptations only become stronger, it's up to them to keep the will to avoid the same fate.
