I have some very confusing information. I went to a partner website to Live Freaky! Die Freaky! in order to find out information about buying tickets. It explained about this is the only showing and it said in parantheses "and get an extra sneek peak at the new Green Day MOVIE" now usually a collection of clips, music videos and all that would be called a video. Then, when I went looking for Tre's biography on Green Day Authority, it said " Tre hopes that if if the band does star in the American Idiot movie, at least he gets to dress in drag."
Can someone please slow my racing heart and answer this: Is there going to be an American Idiot movie? And is Green Day going to star in it?? Are they going to go to theaters with it, and attract more posers, and turn totally mainstream? I mean I think it'd be great, but shouldn't they at least wait maybe two years or something before even planning out a movie? They have families, and maybe they should give the media a chance to stop jumping up and down and take a breath. And their fans too.
So someone tell me if I'm just completely nuts and worked up over nothing, or if they have heard similar rumors.

bleeding_butterfly eek OMFG!!! That would be freakin awesome! I hope there is!!! xd I don't know if it would be. I mean it'd be really really cool, but I don't think so soon it would be. I think they should give it a year or two before starting that. And I certainly hope it wouldn't go to theaters- that would just be too mainstream...too..I can't explain it. It's just this stupid feeling I have. I still would love to see the movie though. But it would only be really great if they acted in it. I think Billie's a pretty good actor- in the Basket Case video the way he moves his eyes are exactly the way someone diagnosed with a level of craziness would act, and he always does a great job in videos.

Actually I think Joel was talking about Live Freaky! Die Freaky! since that's what he's in. I don't think Green Day would share with him what they plan to do with American Idiot as a movie.

When they came to montreal in november they gave an interview to MusiquePlus wich is the "french" Muchmusic and they talked about it a bit. They said they were thinking about making a movie but for the moment they just wanted to kick a** live, but as a joke Mike said he'd be played by Michael Jackson, Billie Joe said Jackie Chan and Tre said Kathleen Turner xd

I was listening to some top-forty count down with Ryan Seacrest (sp)a week or two ago, and Billie Joe wa talking through telephone or something or other. He said himself there's a movie in the works. They've hired a writer so far, but that's all that has happened.
