The den that rested in the depression of two hills, overlooked by a large Acacia tree. This is where the grey maned wolf lived since his early ages. The wolf laid in the shade that the tree gave and the den was tempting. It was still mid-morning and the temperature felt like it could even cook Zazu, the royal steward of the Pride Land king. Most of the animals are resting or down at the watering hole, bathing themselves in the econmy's drinking water.
"How do these animals live like this!" he cried out in hysteria. It was blazing out that if the grass was ready to combust at any moment. Usu was in a depression between two large rolling hills. He was low to the ground and there was shade, he should be cool however that wasn't the case. Usu rolled around the dirt whining about the heat just like a little pup.
He took a deep breath and howled out in his alto voice.

Zingatia wandered slowly towards a hill he'd spotted a while ago, and he decided it looked like a good place to rest. He lifted his maw to the sky and sniffed the air, but smelt nothing, as he was upwind, and continued on his way towards the hill. The smoldering heat bearing down upon him was driving him crazy....er, and he was just about ready to explode. He gave a yelp of pain as he stepped with his full pad on an exceptionally hot area of sand and glued his long tail to his stomach, ears flattening. He looked behind him, then back to the hill, realising that he'd come considerably closer to it than he'd thought.

Usu's ears jerked up and upwind. What was that? A yelp? Frightened of what made that noise who caused it, Usu steadily walked into towards his den when a slow breeze fell into the depression.
Usu closed his eyes and calmed his body. The breeze vanished and Usu turned away from the den and to the hills to see what made the noise. Down before, coming at him, was a strangely colored wolf. Well....as strange as Tajwar's but strange nevertheless.
"Hello!" he shouted. " Hurry, before you get burned!" he called out to the black and orange furred wolf.

Zingatia looked up from the sand, to see another wolf, like himself, just not as strange. The other's words took him a second to register, but when he realised that it was an offer out off of the wretched sand, he raced towards the other, the safety and coolness of a den the only thing on his mind. "Thank you so much." He said, following the stranger into the den gratefully. He flopped down on the ground and tended to his burnt paw, licking it gently.

Usu looked at the wolf. His markings were of dark color, orange and black. This wolf was different, where did he come from?
"So what brings you here to my humble abov?" he asked the stranger. "Not many actually come here to this tree, y'know." he added looking up at the many leaves of the Acacia tree over his den as it leaned over on hill and it's shadow loomed over the other.

"I...wander." Zingatia said, curling up intoa ball in a corner of the den close to the entrance. He rested his head on his paws and watched the other, unsure of what he would do next. Maybe he'll get mad at me for laying down...Zingatia thought to himself, but...maybe he was nice. "Oh, my name's Zingatia, by the way. And thanks for the shelter, it's horribly hot outside." He said, giving the other a warm smile.

Usu smiled from ear to ear. This one was nice unlike another Maned Wolf he knew.
"You're welcome, Zing. My name's Usufii'moyo, Usu or Usufii on your prefence." he replied with a warm smile. "Not many come here because of me really. Some animals find me strange to be seen with, talked to or just well.....around." he said bluntly. He knew why though, but he didn't really care of what others think of him. He liked his life as it is and he had a lifetime friend just outside his house everyday and who goes nowhere.

"Well, look at me, you think I'm not strange?" Zingatia asked with a laugh. "I don't mind it at all. It was rather nice of you to offer me shelter." He said, and then he glanced over his shoulder, at the wall of the cave. It was a habit of his to peer over his shoulder every once in a while, even if it was at nothing. He closed his eyes for a moment and listened in on the conversation that was being held in his head. Of course I'll stay here for a while, he's offered me shelter, and you've seen it outside. I don't think we're in any danger here. Was his input to the other voices, and then he opened his eyes again, and grinned at Usu.

"Good point, then again I have seen other strange sights as well." he replied. "There was one that had mis-matched colors and another who looked like he was born from a zebra!" he chuckled softly knowing exactly who these two were.
"You're welcome to come here whenever you like, y'know. I don't mind having company now and again." he offered. It was not often that he gets to talk to a maned wolf that isn't an obnoxious jerk like Sesere or a motherly prying one like Tajwar, but he loved them both....secretly. Usu smiled

"I think I actually know who you're talking about. You mean Ses and Taj right?" Zingy asked, not sure if he was remembring correctly or not. But he was pretty sure there was only one maned wolf around here that looked like a zebra. Unless him and that female had...He pushed that thought away. Who cared about that stuff anyways right? "Yeah...I've met those two." He said again, feeling it almost necessary to reply. For some reason.

"Oh? How did you manage that? Ses wouldn't really appreciate another male around." he said, sitting at the den's entrance. "He sure doesn't like me, that's for sure." he added astaring into the sky.
"Tajwar on the other hand is much more tolerable, especially being tagged by the ol' wolf."

"Really? He was quite friendly with me. We had a bit of a hunt and everything." Zingy said, puzzled. "And the female. Well, I only briefly met hre, was introduced by Ses..." He finished, looking around a little. "It's nice and cool in here." He stated, laying down on the cool, damp ground. His tail waved casually behind him, and he watched Usu with much interest.

The heat was still getting to him, even through this shade and coolness of the den. His eyes grew heavy too. He was fallin' alseep.
Usu returned to the den and laid himself in the corner. "It's getting too hot out there....I'm gonna take a rest, come out when the cold night is out." he yawned, curled himself into ball, and yawned again.
"You're welcomed to stay as long as you want. I'm gonna get some rest and I suggest you do as well." he yawned and drifted himself to sleep.

Zingy decided that he didn't feel like resting, and he wandered out the den's entrance, looking around. The sand didn't feel so hot now that his paws had cooled from being inside the den. He flicked his ears and waved his tail, looking back into the den at Usu. "I think I'm going to take off. Thanks for the shelter, and I hope we meet again. You've been very hospitable." He said, not sure whether Usu was sleeping or not. But it didn't matter. He felt better at least by saying it, and he padded off, slowly at first, but then picked up pace and was running across the sands, making his way back towards his own little home in the rocks.
