Hey there. Ive got a question or two to be asking about gaming consoles.
A little background information: nearly every console bought in my family was for the boys and I wasnt allowed to play it (by their fathers orders), my mom has gotten rid of a good number of my consoles (because I lacked a social life, no joke) or my younger siblings have destroyed and then never replaced a few consoles I bought myself. This is an eighteen year span, Im talking about everything from my Super Nintendo to the PS2.
With all the hype about the X-Box360, PS2, Nintendo Wii, and everything else as of late.. Im sitting here wandering if I should wait to buy or go ahead and buy my own PS2 with my next paycheck.*
*Yes, I do not own a PS2. The "family" PS2 was my little brothers and I rarely got to play it. Ive missed a lot of games for this reason alone.
Any suggestions?

As hard as it may be, I'd save the money and wait until later this year when the PS3 comes out. But that's just a suggestion. If you really want to get the PS2, I will stand by you.

I don't like the way your family works with consoles. I say wait. The PS2 is an excellent system. I own one. Wait until the next gen consoles show up.

I really dont want to miss the older games but Im not one of those gamers that has to buy something when it first comes out either.
Its a waste of money, unless you're hardcore. They always re-release a system. >.> And Im definitely not rich!

I think you should go for the PS2. If you're feeling seriously deprived of gaming, and you're just starving, the PS2 has a big number of games. But also...the prices are probably gonna go way down once the PS3 comes out. If you can wait.

A used PS2 is like 100 bucks. You can get a pretty good library going for under 300 bucks.
I say get it and wait for the PS3 to drop in price. The Wii will probably be the system to get at launch, mostly just for the downloads of older games

We were discussing it in the chatroom last night and to a few peoples surprise, the releases are starting to look like this:
Wii > PS3 > 360
A friend and I were joking about the target audience for the Wii being gamers who've stopped playing or those who never gamed to begin with.

On topic, Im looking at picking up a PS2 after I get home Monday, depending on how sucky this next paycheck is. Five days off to go to a wedding. >.> Ugh.
Then its a trip out for games! Im definitely wanting to pick up more Castlevania.

Whatever you do, don't get a PS3 when it just comes out; it'll be very expensive and minor flaws aren't taken care of yet sweatdrop
plus there aren't a lot of games on that moment.

Wow your dad just wouldent let you play the consoles eek !!
Anywho, if you can wait get the PS3 when the price drops or if you can't wait get the PS2. All the good game are on it anyway!

Whee, been out of state. ^^;
Im definitely looking into the PS2 for myself but a friend of mine is looking at getting the Wii so Ill be able to play that without having to buy it. So awesome.
At one point, I wanted to collect all of the gaming consoles I could get my hands on. I wonder if Ill be able to do that someday..

I would save up and wait for the PS3. Then you would be able to play PS1 and 2 games while also being able to play 3 games. Then you won't feel the need to get the PS3 and regret waiting for it to come out so you could buy it.
