Not the most inventive topic, I know, but I'm just back from physio and in oodles of pain.
Personally, I love cats and I have an underlying fear of many dogs owing to several bad experiences with them as a small child - big and small dogs. Plus, I'm used to the companionship of cats rather than the more demanding attentions of canines. As such, I'm unnerved by the attention dogs pay to me and my shoes*.
However, I'm fascinated by wolves and I love most husky dogs as a rule. I also like Golden retrievers (there was a pair of nice ones on my road when I was small, one of whom was named Niko owned by family friends, the other of which belonged to the girlfriend of the family's eldest son) and Shiba inus for no apparent reason blaugh
What does everyone else think and why? I'm curious as most people I know online are dog people, but most people I know in real life - aside from the farmer's children who tend to be mixed - are cat people.
Bizarre, no?

*Although, the animal who was most interested in my shoe laces was my rabbit for some weird reason....s/he loved feet in any form, actually.....

It's interesting, because I'm totally a dog person (hence my love of wolves!) but cats seem to like me more!
Whenever I'm at a friend's house, the cats are all over me. It's happened more than once where I'll visit a friend, make a comment on the cat, and my friend will say something like, "Oh, she doesn't like people." Then the cat jumps on my lap and goes to town with the purring and forcing me to pet it! I swear, I could make feral cats tame. 3nodding
But right now my parents own a small dog and a cat. And for once I like the cat better. I'm not too much into small dogs, and this one is no exception. She an attention monger and I swear she's mentally scarred from something and is using it against us (they got her from the shelter). I miss my big dog Sophie! My parents took her to the pound without letting me know and I never got to give her a proper goodbye!
I just realized I'm going off subject and into my own little tangent. I'll save that for another topic! But yes, dogs are my choice, but I guess I'm involuntarily a cat person. blaugh

There's only one small dog I have ever liked and he was named Pip - he was the sweetest dog ever, a cross between a pomeranian and Welsh cardigan corgi. I love tangents. They're usually way more interesting than the actual debate\subject\thinger. ((As a side note, have you been getting my PMs\messages?))

im such a cat person!!! i mean im gunna be the one who has 9999999999999999999999999999999999999999 cats to feed and 2492935745894365932652903659243 cats of my owen ( and a parrot) and ill raise money for the animal shelters and ill probebly have a career related to cats. my sister only wants a dog but we already have 3 cats but i dont want another pet i have my putties!!! i also heard from one of my friends that her my other friends mom and dad want to get rid of their cat because they want to get a dog!!! how cruel is that?!?!?! i mean sure lets kill an animal that we used to love and get a new one!!! i mean ugugugugugugug!!! its soooo frusterating!!! scream scream scream scream scream
