The day was nearing twilight and many of the animals have retreated to their shelters as the nocturnal have come out to play. The sky was clear to reveal the scattered stars and the moon was soon to arrive. African Savannah's winds whirled softly about shifting the turning-silver grass. One of those who still lingered about was the mud colored dog, Jamaa.

Jamaa once again snuck off from his pack lands and this time for good reason. He has heard rumors of a mischievious jackal around and he descided to investigate. However, that was not the only reason he was here in the Pridelands. The adolescent dog recently lost his step-daughter and it has impacted greatly on the little one's family. His mate has begged him not to seek her out and he was bound by his word not to.....but he couldn't resist trying to at least know where she was.

Jamaa laid sprawled in the grass, exhausted by the day's heat and running about.

"Maybe Jamaa should go back, Temari must be worried about Jamaa."

From the same pack came Kadogo, on the trail of the same troublesome creature. Well, more like walking in the direction he'd heard the jackle that gone. He was too young to properly track.

While foolish, the little pup was brave, and was stalking through the grass of the Pridelands despite being undersized and far from home. ...that was a point. Which way was home? He stopped and sat down, looking around with puzzled brown eyes. The youngster did not panic, refused to. Just whined a few times and tried to plan.

Even now Jamaa can hear Kizaki's whines... his eyes shot open. "Kizaki?" he cried out. "Kizaki are you there?" his eyes scanned around, but no Kizaki. His ears flattened. His heart was so high then that is just fell to the bottom. Again the pain returned to him, building up ever second until he let out a loud mournful howl into the dusk sky.

Kizaki? The pup who'd gone? Large pale ears flicked towards the voice that called a familular name. The howl that followed sounded like one of his own kind, and Kaddy's heart soared. Perhaps here was his ticket out of here.

"Hello?!" He reared back on his back paws, trying to see above the silvery grass that was taller than he was, where he was standing. Then he howled a puppy's howl and hoped.

The older dog's ears perked and swung to the sound. It was a pup's howl...but not his. Still, he was curious of who it was. The brown dog stayed low into the grass to stay out of sight. However, like this he could not see what is in front of him but his sense of smell could guide him...to an extent.

Jamaa sniffed around the tall grass seeking out this pup howl he heard. THe sent was growing stronger but from what direction? He turned his head to the left, nope. He turned it straight ahead, nope. THen he shifted to the right, it was there but not as strong. With no other hints he took the right turn and immediately hit something.

"Ow."

"Ow"

The sound was echoed by the younger male who'd just walked straight into elder wild dog. He paused, mildly recognising him, and unsure of the proper action. He ended up decideding to be submissive-agressive, wagging his tail and covering his face with a paw, offering up his alligence to Jamaa. The mud coloured dog was older and stronger.

But a fearful little growl started too. Don'tyoudareattackmeI'mDhati's.

Judging by the pup's scent he was a male, but who was he's? He looks familiar but....a name can't be placed. Jamaa reached up to his nose, rubbing it.

"Who are you?" he asked, "It's not very safe to out wandering after dark, y'know."

This little one....Jamaa has seen him everday, but where? THis was more confusing than trying to figure out a Jackal's riddles.

"It became night fast - I'm Kadogo, son of Dhati and Mataka." He stopped with the show of submission, to try to sniff noses with him. Kaddy was sure he knew him, was certain, but no name...wait. He smelt of Temari, and he was going to say so.

"You scent a little like our denmother, Temari. We are pack?"

"Kadogo? Jamaa knew you look familiar. Temari is the denmother of our pack and she is also Jamaa's mate. Of course Jamaa scent would smell similar to her's." he nudged him. Lately he's been running to all sorts of pups and cubs.

His brow furrowed. "Does Dhati know your out here?" he asked. If not then he would have to take the pup back and drop his other objectives.

"Jamaa? I know that name, knew I knew you from somewhere." He reached up to lick his shoulder in a friendly manner, in return for the nudge. They were pack. Kadogo wondered if he smelt of his family, but he doubted it. The runt was fast becoming a little seen member of the pack.

"No, my father doesn't...but I came after the evil jackal, wanted to find him so I could bring the pack after him."

Goma.... he thought. The mischievious jackal that rocked his relationship with his beloved. What has he gotten himself into messing with the Mpinzani pack? He wanted to speak with the jackal in private first but lately he wasn't able to get to him.

Jamaa digressed. "Are you ever planning to return to the pack soon? Dhati may get made if you do not return. (More so at Jamaa for not taking you back now....)" he said as he laid down to the pup.

"Don't think papa would notice I was gone, and I heard the bad jackal hurt you and Tam lots. Wanted to help."

Kadogo laid down and stilled his tail, which had been wagging non-stop since the fellow Mpinzani dog turned up. He'd meant well. He'd thought it'd be brave and helpful and good.

Jamaa shook his head. "Jamaa's Problem Jamaa solves." he smiled. It was nice of him to help but rather not get the rest of the pack involved his with own problems whilst they have their own. "Jamaa will take care of that little rat of a Jackal." he laughed.

Nudging the little pup, "Maybe we should get you home...." he paused for a moment thinking about everything. "Unless you want to come with Jamaa to find Goma."

"I could come, I could help....didn't mean to take your problem, just wished to help pack." He offered a smile as he stood up. Kadogo really had meant well. And if he could get out of going home, he would.

"Goma his name?"
