I do. Of course, I'm talking about the Nintendo Revolution. I want it to be a trully revolutionary machine. I want Nintendo to go back to being the foremost gaming console. People will once again think Nintendo before any other company. The glory days of the SNES and the N64 shall return! That's what I want to happen with the Revolution. What do you think? Will Nintendo go back to being the #1 system? What does Nintendo have to do to appeal to everyone again? Even though GameCube boasts the best graphics, and some of the best games, people still think it's a little kid machine. What will it take?

Let me just put it this way. If I really wanted a PS3, would I be in this guild? sweatdrop

What Nintendo needs on their console is:
-Online play! <--A must. While I'm not particulary fond of online, seeing XBox Live's success, free online would be awesome. Actually, I think they already confirmed it whee
-DVD/CD Player: Not too necessary, but some of those n00bs choose PS2 because of the DVD playing ability.
-NEW FRANCHISES!
-Wireless controllers will appeal to a crowd easier than wired controllers. Although I don't care.
-Better graphics (I don't care), again same with N00bs.
-Backwards compatibility, with GCN. Maybe.
What we don't need is:
-The ability to bring it around. I mean, isn't there a reason we have the DS/GBA/GBASP/BSP? (I hope you know what BSP means)
Um... I can't think of much!

So, that's just me.

So, that's just me.

Let me tackle each of these. Because I love doing that.

1. Online: Yes, it is a must. This is one of the reasons people odn't like the Gamecube, because they can't bring it online...well they can, but there is only what...2 games? And they are both PSO. Fun fun fun. Online would be a great addiction to the Revolution.

2.CD/DVD Player: I feel this feature would be a big asset to the Revolution also. There is a reason why I have my PS2 in my room, and that is because it has a DVD player. I'm really not going to spend 50 bucks on a crappy DVD player if I can get it right in my gaming system. Convenience is in man. I'd much rather have one box that does everything then a whole bunch that do different things.

3. Knowing Nintendo, we will be seeing mostly the franchises they rely on. But seeing some new ones would beb nice. Especially games like Giest, that are more mature then thier main series like Mario.

4. Eh...Gamecube has wireless controllers. WAY to expensive. Wire controllers are fine for me. sweatdrop

5. Better graphics are a must. I mean seriously, in order to compete with the XBox 2 and PS3, graphics are a must. If it dose'nt get better graphics, people will look down on it.

6. Nintendo has already announced that the Revolution will be backwards compatible with Gamecube games.

Of course, I take this in the casual gamers perspective, that being what the average gamer wants. This usually being online, good gaphics, etc. I, don't care if it has good graphics or not, and I know many of you don't either. But please, jsut for one second, realize what Nintendo NEEDS to make the Revolution successful. If it dose'nt have some of these things, Nintendo's fanbase won't grow at all. And it's getting smaller as the years go on.

Whoa, hold on there. Glory days of the N64? Excuse me, but in my opinion, the N64 was the worst Nintendo console ever. I can think of less than 10 games that are worth owning on the N64.

[quote="ShempyWhoa, hold on there. Glory days of the N64? Excuse me, but in my opinion, the N64 was the worst Nintendo console ever. I can think of less than 10 games that are worth owning on the ******** back up, people.

1. Online. No s**t, people. Even the PS2 has some form of crappy online play, the GameCube was appauling. It has less online games than the ZinclairX8 (in the non-literal sense).

2. Stay the Hell away from a CD/DVD player, Nintendo. Don't give into those creeps. Peer pressure is NOT your friend. Stick with the Goddamn roots of your business. The DVD player on the PS2 was less than shitty, I bought a DVD player for £30 which was better than that of a PS2, and with GameCube being cheap, I got a DECENT DVD player, as well as a far better console (IMO) for the same price.

3. Third party support. I may be skeptical on the DVD/CD player situation, but you NEED third-party support. However much I like the fact that your 'kiddy image' (suck it) has remained and you stood as still as stone when the others made fun of you, it's about time you let other games onto your console. I mean, c'mon. You're being out-done, and it isn't right.

4. Meh. I don't care. As long as they're functional and have vibration ability, whatever.

5. Graphics. Do you really have to be stupid to not understand this one? Of course you need better graphics. With each console out, you've either beaten, or justified yourself when placed next to the others, so this will be no different. Sure, get some traditional games in there, but you will be screwed if XBox 2 beats you.

6. Backwards compatibility > You.

If anyone else has any points, give 'em in.

Insert big pics here.

Most of those are just concept art, I saw two of those in a thread, and they confirmed they were fakes.

Nothing wrong with concepts. The finished project may have some elements of these concept pictures...and heck, they were ideas...its always cool to see peoples ideas.

But wait....I have a picture of one of them made...(second two pictures)Ill just go uplaod it to photobucket and post it here.

Oh dear God.

Is it going to become another PC type piece of equipment? We've already had enough of the XBox, haven't we?

I agree. I don't care about playing online. I never have and never will. But like you said, it's popular and that is one of the reasons the other consoles have had more success.

I disagree. I have DVD players on both of my computers, and I have two other ones hooked up to TVs. I don't want to spend an extra x amount of money for another DVD player. Besides, look at the box and the PS2. Their DVDs players were crappy at best.

Quote:
-NEW FRANCHISES!

Yo, I love Zelda and Samus and Mario just as much as the next guy, but you're absolutely right. We need more people making games for Nintendo. I'm tired of seeing these good-looking games go to PS2 only, or PS2 and box, but not Cube. What I want to see is more great games that are for Nintendo exclusively.

I have two Wavebirds, and I love them. I don't really care about the rumble feature, but some people do. I think they should let you choose wireless or wireful, just like they've done with GC.

I'm sure it will have better graphics. Keeping the same graphics as the Cube would not be productive. I don't care about graphics either. I'm more about gameplay, but you're right. Noobs.

Not just maybe. A must. I think this is a really really really big issue.

What we don't need is a stupid internal hard drive. We want a console, not a PC. I think the internal hard drive was one of the stupidest ideas box came out with. I enjoy my memory cards. Let's keep it that way.
