AC came out Fri. (4-25-06) I bought it and I think it is one of the coolest movies ever! If you have seen the english version please post your comments... domokun

This is going to be a rather short commentary on the movie, but anyway...
While at first I was skeptical that the English dub would be rather iffy, I actually found that they did an excellent job with it. Some of the voices made me cringe (namely Yazoo's, Sephiroth's and Aerith's), but the majority of them sounded excellent. Oh, and the only other things that made me cringe were:
a) Some of the lines they altered/"transliterated" sounded kinda odd.
b) Cid didn't swear at all - although that was a problem in both versions really.
That's it for now, but perhaps I'll do a longer one when I'm not so tired. sweatdrop

I really didn't like most of the English voices...Part of it is the fact that I saw it in Japanese so many times and got used to those voices, but part of it is also that the voice director made some really bad choices><
I liked Rude and Reno's voices, but I am a Crispen Freeman fangirl, so that biased me from the start^^'

my faorite character were reno and tifa cid was cool too
i really didn't like sephiroth's voice to much i pictured it different but it was still good

ooo. i love sitting in front of a movie for one and a half hours, waiting for my favorite character to come out, only to have him appear for two minutes.

Totally agree, Chaoslin. Lol, I love his voice....He's got one of them voices that just----makes you do exactly that lol.

I liked seeing the characters and voices and stuff. that was cool. but I did not like cloud in that game, I think that they made it too much like kingdom harst in a way. In the game cloud is not so emo as he is in the movie. aeris is not this holy figure that is calm and nice and quiet. she was more hyper than that.
Sephiroth was cool...but! I think they made him look to grey and older looking. I don't think they made him into a geezer but I thought he would be more silvery and ageless looking.
lastly the movie needed a chocobo. the motercylecs were cool but the should have had the gold chocobo people worked their butts off in the game to get! they could have at least had shown it at some point instead of just haveing a sign say chocobo farm this way -->

I've seen both the English and Japanese versions (subbed of course) and I love Sephiroth's voice in both. I really like Loz, he was funny. Kadaj reminded me of a young insane Seph. Yazhoo didn't get much air time or lines, but he still got more than Sephiroth. And that was what sucked about the movie. Sephiroth had no air time!! That, and isn't Aerith dead!!!??? How did she manage to come back and make healing rain fall? I mean, once you're absorbed back into the life stream, unless you have major will power like our Sephiroth, don't you stay dead? Are they trying to imply that Aerith's will is just as strong as Sephiroth's?
At least towards the end He "I will never become/be a memory." makes me hope that maybe we'll see him again. Perhaps in one of the many sequels that are coming out? (games)
P.S. - There is no way in hell that Cloud should have won that fight!! Jeez, why can't they ever, ever, ever let the bad guy win??!!

i have the japanese version and saw the english version in store but it was only for PSP. my brother has the english version on his computer and it freaks me out the translations were horrible and the voices weren't all that great why cant americans just keep it in japanese with english subtitles that definatley kick a**.

It would completly change the way we think. After all, "Good always triumphs over evil". It's a load of crap, but it's how things work *shrugs*
