Mayu bounded up the stairs to the headquarters, turning to make a face at her exasperated guardian. She twirled in a circle, and sang in a sing-song vioce, "I beat you! I beat you!"
"I let you!" Kimiko shot back, following the pink child before her into the large building. Although delighted to see her child grow up in the blink of an eye, the black-haired one was a bit weary from the girl's playful nature.
Mayu was delighted to be back in the building as a child, able to run about on her own without her mother's watchful eye! She skipped over to her usual spot, by the coffee table. Now, was there anyone else present that she could jump?

"You a walking plant?" Murmured a soothing voice next to Mayu's ear, whom belonged to Loki. "I would think it's past time for pruning, don't you agree?"
Stepping back, the hyena-boy shoved his goggles down over his face to rest at his neck, before staring simply at the girl.
In a way, she reminded him of Paestri, but he knew this wasn't the cute girl he knew; Paestri had pink hair and dark skin, after all.

Nearly jumping at the boy's voice, Mayu turned to face Loki with a pout. "No! And that would hurt!" The girl winced at the thought of chopping off her lovely branches. She pushed herself up from her sitting position and twirled her hair around her fingers nervously. Where was Kimiko at a time like this? She wasn't ready for confrontations!
"I've never seen you around here before." She murmured, then straightened herself up. "My name's Mayu. And yours?"

"Loki." He murmured softly, tilting his head. Was she not offended by anything? The hyena-boy smirked, now circling around her.
"So what are you, exactly?"

"Okay, then." Mayu smiled, glad to have met someone new. Even if this "someone" had offered to cut her branches, but she waved that away. Mother had said to be open to new people, of course.
"Erm ..." Mayu had to stop and ponder on that question. She wasn't stupid, per se, but she was a bit unsure herself. Kimiko was a human, and Verde was a Jumi ... Ah! She was a Legend, of course.
"I'm a Legend! A Legend." The girl said, nodding to confirm her words.

"I know that, dipstick. I meant what kind of Legend you were." Loki sighed in exasperation, rubbing his forehead. Honestly, some of the Legends he had met lately...

"Oh, right, right." Mayu grinned sheepishly. "I'm not really sure, actually ... And I don't think my mom really knows as well." Scratching her head nervously, the girl wondered if admitting her cluelessness was really a good thing to do.
"I've dreamt about ... about the Japanese army before, though. And cherry blossoms." Murmured Mayu after a while, recalling back to the times when she was a baby.

"Japanese army?" Loki was lost, but now he was curious, and the look in his eyes clearly said so. "What is this... army you speak of?" He had never heard of an army, but he did know of cherry blossoms. Reaching out, he plucked a petal off of her branch, staring at it curiously.
"You look like a tree." He didn't mean it as an insult.

"There were lots of horses! And men in armor!" Mayu chirped, gladly recalling the details. They were fresh in her memory, and she was happy to share the tale with others. She saw no harm in it -- they were only dreams, right?
Mayu didn't take the comment as an insult, and she actually got to pondering about it. "Yeah, I don't get that either. Though I did hear something about a lady landing in a cherry tree. From the skies or something." She concluded with a nod, wondering if she was jabbering on too much.

"... No, it was in my dream!" Mayu said with a frown, although the aspect of carrying a fully grown person on her branches did sound a bit amusing. She had to laugh at that.

"Could have said so..." Loki muttered, rubbing the back of his head.
Though, he did have to admit to himself, this was a rather nice change to his mundane blackouts and memory loss-slash-gain. Sighing, he let a small grin grace his face.

Mayu smiled. There, she had made a new friend. Well, it was more of an acquaintance. Whatever.
"So, tell me about you. I've been jabbering on about myself all this time, and I know nothing about you." She peered at the boy curiously, hoping she was not being too nosy.

"You already know my name... my specialty is exorcising demons. Though I'm trying to find out more by talking to other... Legends, really." A sigh was made, and he leaned against the wall, shutting an eye as he stared at the floor. There was nothing more to say, really; the lesser one knew about him, the better.

"Oh? Sounds interesting." Mayu nodded, shuddering at the thought of demons. "You mean demons ... like ... the scary ones in horror movies? Or are they different?" She wasn't quite sure how to convey her thoughts. She had never been one for small talk, even though she was rather chatty when worked up.
