Q.I've noticed that in the character development section, all the character profiles seem to be exclusive to an individual Roleplay. I see titles like "[X] Y", where X is a roleplay and Y is a character. Is it okay post a character profile that is not restricted to any particular roleplay?
A.That is a great question!
While we like for characters that are currently in an RP (especially an RP in the guild) to put that in their title, the answer is YES it's fine for you to post any character in there. I look forward to reading it.
Q.Okay, so I just got accepted yesterday or so to join-but I don't have photoshop & usually they make you have a picture of your RPing Character. So I can't get a picture of her. Does this guild make you have a picture of her/him to RP?
A.Another good question.
NO you do not need a picture for your character. In fact we prefer that you describe your character with words. Pictures are good supplements, but it's your ability to describe your character with words that's more important to RP.
Q.I also have a question about pictures. Are we allowed to use a picture as an overview, then describe it more thoroughly in detail as to what our charecter looks like?
A. Yes, but please as a courtesy do not paste an image directly into your post if it is large, just link it.
Q.Do you have anything against basing RP's on TV Shows, Movies, Novels etc?
A.Yes, you can create fan RPs. Just make sure it's set up nicely, like you should be trying to set up any RP!
Q.I was wondering where I should put a board offering me to draw their RP characters. I don't want to put it in the wrong place, also, am I allowed to do this? : D
A.Yes, you can make a thread about drawing people's character profiles. It goes in the main forum.

Q.I got a question, can we ask for a private tutor, temporary?
A.Yes, that is a great question. Go the Questions, Answers, and Tutors subforum. In there is a sticky about tutors. On the last page or two of the sticky some good tutors have just posted about their services and given contact information. You can contact one of them.
Q.I have a question how do we donate to the guild?
A. Please send a trade to the
School of Dedicated RPers mule. Donations to the mule can be used for contests and other things.

here. One is a slide show so it may not work on your computer.
Q. i wanted to kno how to enter a RP. Do we just go up and say, "hey i wanna join" or what?
A. That depends on who is running the RP. Most people explain in their first post or somewhere on the first page how they want you to join. Most people want you to post a character profile first. In fact, unless you already know the other people and know that they are good players, or unless you are doing a one-on-one RP where you can tailor things more, I wouldn't join an RP that does not require a profile or does not explain how to join. When you can look at the other players' profiles you get a good idea of what level of RP they are at and how much effort you should put into your character if you decide to join.

A. Yes, it only starts counting once you post here. If you donate by sending a trade to the mule, it won't show up in the guild stats.
Q. What are stickies?
A. Stickies are threads that stay at the top of the page no matter what. On Gaia they actually say "Sticky" but on other forums they might not. Announcements also stay at the top but above stickies.
Q. Am I allowed to post a link to one of my outisde the guild rp's? If so where? What about RPs outside of Gaia?

Q.I do have a question: are dice-based games common here, or is it mostly freeform? Nothing against those that play freeform, I play it from time to time myself if I like the idea or can't find a dice based game, but I don't really like freeform a whole lot. I greatly prefer dice based games, though I always hope they retain some flexibility and don't turn into roll playing instead of role playing -- but the framework a regular game system provides is highly useful, I've found.
A. It's mostly free-form, but Gaia has a role dice option that you can use. There have been structured RPs here in the past.

A.Ok, go visit the Level 1: Beginners subforum to start RPing. Go to the Questions, Answers, and Tutors subforum to ask questions about RPing and read advice. Go to the Character Development subforum to post your character profiles. Depending on your skill in writing, you might be able to jump into an intermediate or even an advanced RP. RPing is about writing and getting along with people, so experience, while certainly helpful, does not always determine where you start.
Q.Now, my only question--do you have to get a character profile set up before you jump into an RP, or can it wait until after? Or does it have to happen at all?
A.That's up to the RP that you join. Most GMs require a profile so that they can get a sense of your RP level and/or if you've read and understood their setup.
Q. I just remembered my question. I have a roleplay in the gaia forum, but it seems to have died. I was wondering if I could start it again here?
A. Yes, on the main guild forum.
Q.Are guilds exclusive, or can you join more than one...?
A.You can join as many as you want.
Q.I'm more of a fiction roleplayer, and I roleplay in third person. >_> I don't know if that'll be a problem. I hate roleplaying in first and second, it just makes me feel weird.
A.Most RPs want you to RP in 3rd person.
