The Managers. Why didn't they listen to the Phantom, I don't understand that. He gave them warnings and he was blunt about everything. So why were they so stupid?

I think that's a bit strong... I don't think the managers were stupid. Who appreciates being told what to do anonymously in a place they just bought?

"We will not submit to terrorists."
Same line of thought.

Please, Mademoiselle. Read the rules, you need to write with correct punctuation and make your font the correct size. Thankyou.

Well you just have to put yourself in their place. You just bought an opera house, when suddenly this nutter in a mask sends you letters saying "cough up my payment NOW" and "let's have this little nobody chorus girl take the place of our biggest star". You'd probably ignore it/wonder about the sanity of this place.
The managers are my favorites by the way.

I agree, you have to be put in their situation. My favorite line from one of them in the 2004 (is that the right year?) movie, the whole deal with the notes:
Roul: "Is this not the letter you wrote?" Firmin(i think): "And what is it we are meant to have wrote? Uh... written."

Think of it this way: you just purchased a renouned Opera house, only to find that there is some lunatic in your basement sending you notes demanding cash and telling you how to run the Opera--and if you don't, he'll drop chandeliers, kidnap your leading ladies, and kill your most competant stagehands. I don't know, but most people would not react kindly to such having their jobs hijacked.

I didn't think that they were stupid, they made me laugh. Though really if I were in there place I would have searched for more information about a Phantom. Though they didn't do a thing during Past the Point of No Return, they just sat there and watched for the most part. I would have followed through the trap door if I were them. Oh well I think they are not stupid, they were unknowledgable to what the situation was.
All they know is some guy they havn't seen is calling down from the ceiling. I loved Notes though.
"These are both signed O.G, who the hell is he...Opera Ghost!" I love those lines.
