My favorite composer is Tchaikovsky! heart heart heart He has such a unique style and I can listen to him no matter what mood I'm in.
Who's your favorite composer and why?

Tchaikovsky is by far my favorite composer, with Beethoven not far behind. I love Tchaikovsky best because of his "Hell take all of you" style and sound. Playing his stuff makes me feel deliciously evil, and, as we all know, there is nothing more interesting than a deliciously evil violin.

I'm rather partial to Tchaikovsky as well, along with Bartok and ... I forget his name... Dvorzak. (sp?) The intense composers, I guess.
I started to list the composers I like, but a little under halfway through I realized that I pretty much like every famous and most non-famous composers that I've ever heard. whee I'm not very discerning.
But I must confess that I have a soft spot in my heart for Vivaldi.

Shostakovich, always. His violin concerto makes me cry. His fifth symphony makes me scream. His work is so emotionally charged, I can't listen to it for more than 2 hours a day. At least, he's my current favorite composer. I still love all of Mozart's choral work. Requiem, c-minor mass... amazing.

Beethoven all the way. It's his music that started my interest in classical. At the moment I'm very interested in Chopin and Schubert, though.

Shostakovich...ah, i LOVE his work. i actually haven't found a composer that i really LOVE to play, even though i've been playing for nearly 3 years. that reminds me, did Mozart actually FINISH his requiem before he died? *puzzling...lol*
