With the resurgence of new members, comes the need for another one of DA's intellectual topics. This time, on all the species of the Hellsing Universe. I welcome intellegent debate, but avoid negative verbage or bashing. Otherwise I will tear into you.
Moving on:
Humans: Humans are the dominant species of Earth. They lack magical abilities, and have par physical attributes. However, Humans make up for a lack of power with the shear population and will power. According to Alucard, Humans are the only beings capable of killing monsters.
Vampires: Being capable of great power. Vampires physical attributes far above any humans'. Most even have certain magical abilities, such as teleportation and whatnot*. For more information on vampire subspecies, see my thread on Vampire classifications.
Werewolves: Ancient species of pseudo-humans. Apparantly, in Hellsing, Werewolves are actually capable of transforming into a "wolf-man" at will. Werewolves are also capable of physical strength greater than any vampire's, and perhaps even greater regeneration skills. According to Alucard, they are all but extinct. In fact, he speculates that Captian Hans Guensche is the last of his kind.
Ghouls: Similar to Zombies in most respects. However, instead of an autonomous, souless, corpse fueled by insatiable hunger; Ghouls are more like semi-sentient puppets controled by a vampire. Ghouls are formed when a vampire decides to wither transform his victim into a ghoul, or feeds on a non-virgin**. Ghouls have great strength, but are unable to preform advanced combat manuvers.
(More when I think about them.)
-Doc and Major are not listed because I don't know how to classify them.
-Schrodinger is an experiment created by Doc.
*See my topics on Vampire classifications.
** Non-virgin clause only applies to Dracul vampires, and Freaks cannot spread vampirism, and therefore all their victims become gholus.

Just to remind you, you forgot catboys. And when we find out whatever Doc is (they say he has six fingers), you can post his species here.

So, what are Doc and Major? I mean, at first I thought they were vampires, but then we see Major chowing down on regular food. And they haven't aged in 50 years.
Oh, about werewolves. The Hellsing version is actually near the correct/traditional werewolf. Werewolves are traditionally humans who have taken on the attributes of a wolf through some means (these means can range from drinking from a wolf's track to not going to confession for 20 years). These creatures could change into their beast form at will. The whole moon thing was made up for the first werewolf movie. They're sometimes portrayed as the servants of vampires, but in a fight a werewolf has the advantage over the vampire. Werewolves are different in each culture, as are vampires. That's all I can remember at the moment.

That's all I can remember at the moment. I haven't included Doc and Major because of that reason: we don't know what they are. Perhaps some general undead being. I assume they'll tell us sooner or later. And I'm glad to see someone else knows the difference between folklore and movie werewolves.

And He is Human. Yeah, it mentions that regenerators are humans who have been altered by some means, not a seperate species.

So what if some people mistook you for a girl. *cough*me*cough* It's better than pretending to be something you aren't in such a weird obsessive way. You can't seriously talk to people while pretending to be a werewolf. They'll laugh at you.
