 Having spent the past couple of days moping around his room Ra decided it was about time he got some fresh air. Grabbing a book, his mp3 player and shoving them both in his bag he ventured outside.
It was a warm day, a gentle breeze blowing across campus. Perfect for lounging around and getting a bit of sun on his winter paled skin. For once the courtyard appeared empty. Ra took up a place on one of the benches, took out his book and started to read.

Kayne walked slowly out of the dorm. He still wasn't really speaking to his sister and the room had gotten ubelievably uncomfortable. He wanted desperately to go to the dojo and see Jess, but that would just put him back at square one.
Walking slowly with his hands stuffed in his pockets, he came to the courtyard and it was refreshingly empty, except for Kusani. Kayne smiled a little and walked over to sit down on the bench in front of him.
"Hey Kusani. Are you still mad at me?" he asked, for once his voice lacking its usual humor.

Yes the courtyard was empty, which Xel took up long before anyone showed themselves. He was sitting behind a tree lounging about as he watched the sun play peek-a-boo with the clouds. It was time for him to spend a little down time by himself.
He would have enjoyed it if he hadn't have heard a few voices nearby. Arching a brow he looked behind him to find Kayne and Ra talking to each other. To join them or not?
Pushing off the tree and onto his feet he figured he might as well, there wasn't anything else to do but sit under the tree and sleep but who could do that with someone chatting. "Oi!" he called out softly coming up from behind the two. He hoped Kayne wouldn't hold it against him with the way he acted toward Aine, he was only watching out for the girl...

Ra looked up as Kayne joined him and gave him a weak smile.
"More mad at myself really." He admitted with a shrug, glad of some company. Scarlett had been driving him crazy with her fussing at his depressed mood.
"What have you been up to? Haven't seen you about for a while." He looked over Kaynes bruises but said nothing. It was probably just training injuries. At the call from behind them he looked up to see the strange girl he had met at Sora's dorm party.
"Hi." He said, waving her over to join them.

 Kayne smirked at Ra's answer, and gave his head a bit of a shake. Women, he thought to himself. Kayne had been about to answer Ra's question when Aine's roommate appeared and Ra invited him to join them. Not that he particularly cared. He just hoped he wasn't going to start anything, especailly about the weekend spent with Aine. Turning his eyes back to Ra, he gave an inward smile. What hasn't he been up to would have been the better question.
"I've been training and all. But that's been put on hold. I went to a friend's house this past weekend and got into a load of trouble," he said pointing to his face. "Ended up with a broken rib too," he said placing a hand over the offending side. He looked back over and Xel and tried to gauge what his current attitude was.

Xel listened sitting on the edge of the bench's backside, hands stuffed in his pocket. He was barely listening to their conversation when he heard Kayne's response. He arched a brow wondering what trouble he'd caused at Aine's place...he shrugged it off. He could ask her later if she wanted to tell but part of him had to guess what happened he smirked slightly.
At the mention of training Xel was a bit curious about that, "You train? What do you do?" Training could pertain to a lot of things so it was a vague comment for Xel.

"yeah, sensei said she had got really busy." Ra nodded closing his book and putting it back in his bag. "I didn't like to ask questions, her mode seemed to be set to 'kill' this morning." He smirked and listened to Kayne talk about his weekend. It sounded insane, like something from a movie.
"Wow, when you don't go looking for trouble it certainly comes to find you." He turned and nodded to Xel. "Long time no see." He said smiling and waiting for Kayne to answer her question.

Kayne smirked a bit. Seemed that his over protective vibe was gone. He glanced over at Ra at his comment about Jess and felt a tug at his heart. He wanted so bad to go to her and make it all better again. But he had promised. He looked back at Xel then down at his folded hands on the table.
"I was getting trained in the martial arts, but like I said, that's been put on hold for the time being," he said softly. Maybe for good, he thought bitterly.

"Oh?" Xel said in response to Kayne, "That's too bad..." there really wasn't much else he could say to that. Taking something away from a guy was akin to kicking 'em where it hurt.
He nodded to Ra by this time, "Yeah I guess it has. I've been preoccupied lately." He didn't bother with explainations. As he sat there looking between the two he could feel a sense of depression washing over the group. Rolling his eyes he stood up walking around to the other side of the bench. "Ya'll look really out of it." He commented, though he wasn't looking any better, what with his brother in town, Israel on the brain and Sora withdrawl.

Ra looked between Kayne and Xel. There was definitely a dark vibe hanging over them all. For Ra it was worry, for Kayne it seemed to be an unusual sadness and for Xel, well confusion maybe.
"Heh, sorry." He said forcing a smile. "Girl problems. No offence." He said raising a hand to Xel. "They're just all so confusing."

Kayne raised an eyebrow at Ra's words and glanced over at Xel. What the hell was Kusani apologizing for now? He looked between the two boys and gave his head another shake.
"By the looks of it, we've all got girl problems. But I'm not going to assume. Should we take a poll?" he smirked, attempting to lighten the mood. Despite how empty he felt, it seemed it was up to him to bring up everyone's spirits.

Xel blushed a bit. Opps...Kayne didn't know about Ra's confusion on his gender. He fidgeted a bit, "Its fine, no offense taken really." He turned to look at Kayne giving him a look to just leave the subject alone. God this was getting annoying. Well it served him right being such a blow hard when Kayne had come to pick Aine up. He sighed inwardly, offering a smile to Kayne's comment. Better to play it safe and stay silent.

Ra looked from Kayne to Xel. The comment about Xel having girl problems, the look of warning that passed between them. So Xel batted for the other side it seemed. He gave an inward shrug. Nothing wrong with that at all. It must be odd having girl problems when you were a girl. Less easy to put miscommunication down to gender difference.
"That's a yes from me and Xel then." He said not wanting to question. "Kayne?" He asked wondering who could have possibly upset him ... maybe when he meant girls he was talking about his sister, rather than in a romantic sense.

Kayne's smirk deepened at Ra's question. "Kusani, I was born with girl problems. Cirrus is nothing but trouble. Thus the reason why I sit here today with you fine gents," he smiled, totally misinterpreting Xel's loaded look and shrugging it off. "And believe me... you both are the luckiest of the three of us."

Oh for the love of... Xel's mind went off the charts at Kayne's comment. 'Gents', maybe Ra didn't pick up on it or maybe he thought the boy was dense. Sighing he stood up to stretch tossing his hair behind him. "Yeah girl and guy problems for me.." Whatever, if he was gonna be caught so be it.
