neokitsune Temari didn't move, she didn't make a sound, she barely breathed. Her eyes were wide and staring at something that she couldn't really see. So much had happened... but she knew in her heart that what happened had been enough. She was gone, the only daughter she ever had and may very well ever have.
But now the tears were completely gone. She was just; a general wreak. A sigh floated from her long golden muzzle as she shivered in the heat of the afternoon. ninja

Jamaa was coming back from his old den for a quick run. THe mud colored canine was really excited to see his family again. Kizaki running around or possibly painting in the pack den. Demani and Taho are probaby playing with the other members. At last, Temari is probably waiting for him....furious that he left without a word again.
Jamaa entered the pack lands and immediately saw Temari sitting idly, motionless and still very much alive.
"Temari!" he instantly rushed to her and bent down. "Temari, what is wrong?" something was defiantly amiss here, but what?

neokitsune Her emotionless jem colored eyes turned and stared at Jamaa. They were unnaturally wide and completely dead. She may have been breathing, but that didn't necisarrily mean that she was alive. Not really anymore after all.
"Jamaa."She said in a ghostly whisper. She was afraid that if she said something more that the tears would start again. She thought they were gone, but when she saw her mate, remembered how close he had been to his step daughter. Something in her large golden chest twisted and stabbed her heart. ninja

"Temari, what is wrong? What has happened?" he asked franticaly. What could possibly be wrong that would affect the female like this? He shook her, "Temari, you got to tell me right now! What is wrong!" he barked. His eyes were filled with rage and yet showned worry and fear.

neokitsune "I tried... really I tried." She said in a soft voice. "Really... really tried." The golden dog simply fell limp to her side as she was shaken. She didn't care what happened anymore, she had given up. She wasn't hungry, though she hadn't eaten for some time, even before and she didn't care what went on around her anymore.

The dog's eyes went wide with shock and terror. Kizaki....his only daughter, his step-daughter, is....gone? How can this be? Yeah she would run off to places, but she would aways call out if she ever need help. How?!
"...gah..." he couldn't say anything. He wanted to cry out, but could not. He wanted to bark, but could not. He wanted to scream, but could not. He wanted to run, but he could not. He wanted to scream, but he....coud not. Jamaa was completely paralyzed. He had lost the closest thing to a child, ripped away from him and Temari. He had no strength left. His limbs gave way as he fell down onto his mate as tears rolled down his muzzle.

neokitsune Temari glanced up at her mate with glazed over eyes and she licked his muzzle, trying faintly to lick the tears from his chocolate fur. She felt miserable. "This is all my fault. I could have done something, but for once in my life... I wasn't fast enough. And they have arrows." She looked over at her shoulder where the stick end of an arrow was jutting from her skin. This was wrong, she had stopped bleeding, but she couldn't make the pain of the wound or the pain of the loss go away. "It's all my fault that your daughter is gone, that... my... daughter is gone. I'm sorry." ninja

Jamaa jerked himself up emitting low growls from his throat. He reached down, snapping the thin, arrowhead-less arrow. He reached down, licking the wound.
"Temari, it's not your fault. It was mine. If I stuck around the pack more with you, we both could have save her." he growled as he paced back and forth. Two-leggers...the disgusting filth of the African savannah. The growls grew louder during each pass.
"Where are they!? I will get her back myself!" he barked. "Temari, where is she? Where did they take her?" he growled in a blood thirsty tone that would make the weak fall and the strong tremble.

neokitsune A harsh yelp came from her as the stick was jerked deep in her shoulder. She almost threw herself down on the ground to block that shoulder, it hurt so bad. What else could she have done?
But this tone... this was Jamaa at his most feirce. And it was her fault, she hadn't been able to follow them, she'd simply crawled back to the pack like the useless sack of wasted life that she was. Her ears fell to the sides of her head and her tail curled under her. Being barked and snarled at wasn't what she needed right now. She wanted to get her daughter back, but she didnt' know where they were. Curling back on herself, her tears ran down her muzzle again and she shook her head sharply. "No, no no no! I won't let them hurt you too. I won't!" She jumped forward and pinned him to the ground. Blood spurted from her shoulder and she yelped uselessly in pain and anguish. "You can't go there, you'll only die. I can't lose another." ninja

Jamaa laid there, his head tilted over, tears flowing. What are they going to do...? THey have lost her to the two-leggers that plague their land, the land that belong to the animals. They have defiled and reaped their land of it's resources and inhabitants. Now they have taken one of his own. Though Kizaki was not blood-reated, she was his daughter. He laid there under the weight of his mate, motioness.
"I....can't...." he whispered.
What could he do? If he went after the humans, they would attack and possiby kill him. If he went with Temari, she would be in danger especially in her condition. He coud not involve the rest of the pack, his pride simply won't let him. He has lost her and he could do nothing. What if they take Demani or Kahopotiki, he'll lose them too. What if Temari attempted to get her back out of regret or anger. He has failed as a parent...he has failed to protect his family.
"...I'm sorry..."

neokitsune Temari stared down at him for a long time and finally got off of him and standing to face the savannah beyond them. Somewhere out there her daughter was living a different life. She knew that she was alive in her heart, because had the humans wanted her dead they would have killed her pup on the spot and killed Temari as well, though she had moved too fast for them to kill. One lucky shot with an arrow had been all that had gotten her. That had been enough though.
A soft sigh floated from her. "I told you, it's not your fault. It's mine. I wasn't... fast enough. The wind was blowing against me and I... I was just... weak. It's punishment." Her eyes widened again as tears fell down her face and rolled off of her muzzle. "I'm a failure. But I know that she's alive." ninja

Jamaa laid there on his side as tears streamed from his gazed eyes.
"She is alive..." he whispered. "...she is our daughter, Temari. She can fend for herself." he paused. Oh course she could. She has been with the both of us. She can run just as fast as Temari and fight just as fierce as Jamaa.
He pushed himself up, bracing himself on Temari. "It's no ones fault, Tem. It was nor yours' nor Jamaa's." he nodded. "Kizaki will come back again. She has to." he nuzzled her, resting his head on her neck. "....she has to."

neokitsune "It is mine, it's all mine. She's my daughter, Jamaa! I let her go off on her own too many times! I knew she could take care of her self, so I took it for granted that she was larger and faster and stronger than all of the others! It's my fault!" Temari cried to him and shoved him from his feet. "You don't understand!"
How could he, she admitted that he loved her to death, that he loved Kizaki even more. Kizaki was his baby, though Temari loved all of her children the same. Now one of them was gone and part of that was just... gone. ninja

Jamaa snapped around closing his maw around her ruff, roughly but not to hurt her. The muddy colored dog cried as he did so. He could not let her do this to herself. Battering herself will not bring Kizaki back. Small whines echoed from his body into her's.
"Don't do this, Temari." he told her, muffled by her neck. His ears spayed and his tail swung very slowly. She will come back.
Feeling that she has calmed slightly he let go of her neck. "Temari?"

neokitsune Temari didn't even make a noise when he bit down on her. Normally she would have snarled playfully and batted at him, but now she just cast him a look out of the corner of her eye and shook her head. He still didn't understand did he?
"I have to. How else am I supposed to take it? I can't go get her, because if I die my pups will have no mother at all and I can't let you go get her, because if you die the pack losses a garudian and my pups would lose a father. Our pups would lose a father. And I'd... not be able to do anything... you just don't understand." She said in a ghostly voice. ninja
