A lot of people (yself included) started listening to Japanese music via Anime songs, whether they were the themes or not. I was wondering, did you guys have any particular favorites? Or maybe, any songs that got you to look up the artist/band and thus get you into Jrock?
There are some pretty good theme songs, in my opinion at least. Whether on an artist/band's albums or not. Like Gackt and Pierrot, who had a song for the soudtrack of Texonalyze and Get Backers.

I may have started being a fan of J-Rock just over 3 years ago, but I've liked anime music for a couple years longer than that. As for favorites... I have too many. xD http://www.armitunes.com/I frequently listen to that station. 3nodding And actually... Vampi got into J-Rock because an indies band was going to be playing at a convention I was going to. So, I looked them up and voila, instant J-Rock fan. :B~

"Ichirin no Hana" by HIGH and MIGHTY COLOR (from Bleach, even though I've never seen the show, but the song is awesome. xd ), and "Shining Collection" by Iceman (from Gravitation) are my two favourite anime theme... songs, whatever. But it was definitely because of anime that I started listening to J-pop, which I've started listening to again recently. xd
I personally became a J-rock fan because of Ariadyne essentially going, "Gackt has great music. :3 Go listen to him." Which is a little odd because now, neither of us listen to his music much anymore. xp And that was less than a year ago.

Theme songs is how I got into Jrock.
I love the assorted Naruto, Zatch Bell, and Zoid themes aswell as Jrock songs from AMVs. The Bleach theme is pretty cool too (I have the Japanese DVDs). Actually, I look up songs off of AMVs I like to find out more about artists. That's how I'm starting to get into Dir En Gray. 3nodding

I really like the song "Shangri-La" by angela from the series Soukyuu no Fafner. It's really catchy, and I think angela has a nice voice. ^-^
(Not to mention that series is really cool so far...)

Merciless Darkness I like the theme song to "Pretear". Oh, me too!~ And I like the songs from [insert long list of anime here]. I love the song "Sound Life" from Trigun. <3 (It's the song Rem sings.)

I got into J-rock through the FMA theme song. I love L'Arc~en~Ciel's music, i've heard their stuff from back in the early 90's to today, and wow, do they sound diferent but they still have that old school touch.

I still hate "Ready Steady Go". I didn't like it before FMA and I don't much like it now either. I mean I love L'Arc~en~Ciel and all just not that particular song.
