I'm not saying that Shounen-ai is bad or anything, I just don't like it much. I just feel that it's...kind of weird... stare I just think, OK? That's my opinion. Am I the only one here who doesn't like Shounen-Ai? Even in other Anime?
(Just so you people know, I can tolerate the hugging stuff but anything more than that to me is just gross.)

Shonen Ai doesn't appeal to everyone. That's the truth of the matter. Priestess, I don't agree that you should say that to her, ya know? It'd be like me going up to you and saying "Yo, someday you'll wake up and realise that that Lirin/Yaone fic is damn hot!"
Myself, I think Shonen Ai is cute, and I heart yaoi. If you don't feel that way, good for you. Completely understandable. A warning though: Saiyuki BEGS to be yaoi-ized, so I'm not sure many people will hold your opinion in here... sweatdrop

Well, yeah. I kind of agree with your warning, Snapelicious... I also don't like Yuri, or Shoujo-Ai. And well, there's a small chance that it may be possible to change my opinion, but just not now.

I agree. I'm not a big fan of shonen-ai (especially when it goes really hardcore O.O). But in some situations it does make me laugh. Not a big fan of yuri either, but if anyone else likes that stuff its ok

Goku: @_@;;* There are some boy/boy pairings I'm ok with (and I say that lightly) like KaiXMax from Bakuten shoot beyblade and possible DaisukeXTakeru from Digimon...but none yet in Saiyuki...and 'yet' will probably be never for me...^^;;

I seem to have a slightly different look on shounen-ai. I don't mind it if the AUTHOR has a REASON for the pairing. I hate it when CLAMP turns their characters a little off straight for no reason. I mean, in Gravitation that's how the characters are so I don't mind. Same in Sukisyo. But in Saiyuki it's not the author doing that to their characters, it's the fans. I don't approve of it in Saiyuki but again, everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

Fluff is, you know, non hard stuff. Almost like WAFF (Warm and Fuzzy feelings).
Slash is the same as Yaoi, but it applies to non anime things as well. And Yuri. Slash is both.
But it's true, reading Saiyuki, it's really hard to miss some not so subtle undertones of yaoi. But people will see what they want.
