Solaris had been wandering alone again, a predicament that has worn the former omega to skin and bone once more. In his former pack, he at least got adequate food and water; but hunting has never been a top skill of his, and his paranoia at being on his own has made him jumpy and restless. In the night, he starts at every little sound...during the day, he dozes inbetween attempts at catching meals or wandering. He rarely covers more than a few miles per day: his gait is slow and meandering, as if he had no intention of actually going anywhere. It's less of a carefree attitude than a desolate, lost one.
He used to make most of his kills with his seer powers, but paranoia set in further. What if someone had been "listening" to him? What if they were following him even now? What if...what if?
So when he arrives at the borders of these packlands, his nose and mind had both started working. Numerous wolves; a pack that's done well for itself. A pack, presumably, that he could get lost in, with none the wiser. Nobody looks too hard at a skinny, half-starved omega.
So Solaris flits through the trees, whining to himself and to any ears that may be nearby, his tail held low in submission as, for the first time in years, he actively seeks out another wolf.

It's at this point that he senses another mind in the vicinity.
Wolves, he had discovered in his forays, were distinctly different from all the other muddle of creatures. He's not a deep enough thinker to ponder why this could be: he just knows a wolf mind from a not-wolf-mind, even if he doesn't make an effort to extend his powers out. It's there, all the time, like some extra sense.
It also makes him feel particularly vulnerable, like an "I'm here!" sign to anyone that might be watching.
This mind is definately a wolf mind, but he pulls back his sense as much as he can, so he doesn't get anything more concise than that. The whine is low in his throat now, a crooning sound that he seems to derive some comfort from as he shivers, trying to pull his seer sense inward as much as possible, much like a turtle into it's shell. His paws have stopped now, without any particular orders from his brain.
But when that whine is echoed nearby, he still nearly jumps out of his skin, cringing backward as he lowers as close to the ground as he can possibly get without actually lying down. He's still poised for flight: he looks like a good wind would send him scurrying for cover. His eyes frantically find the source of the noise. It's a female wolf; a female wolf, moreover, who is having a seemingly difficult time in finding him. Solaris double-checks himself. His pelt is still white and blue, so that can't be it...he stands out quite well against the surrounding brush. Perhaps she just didn't see him at first.
Still cringing, he quakes in front of her, and finds himself, inevitably, babbling. A few words even manage to convey some intelligence. "I'm sorry, my lady, didn't mean to trespass...just come over the border...nowhere to go...don't mean harm to your pack or your pups or your kin or your alpha...please, don't hurt me!" Months ago, this might have been just an automatic response. While it still largely is, he sees the reasoning for it now...and so it's with a slight degree of calculation that he pleads for his own safety.

The squeaking catches the male's attention, his ears flattening faintly as his tail tucks itself as well as it can underneath him. Had Amelie been a male, and larger, he may have even instinctively rolled over on his back and flash up his belly as a sort of white flag of surrender. But he manages to stay upright, his eyes darting to and fro, always slipping past her gaze. It's doubtful that he's looked another straight in the eye for some years.
Oddly enough, his view of his own talents are drastically different than poor Amelie's. While she's seemingly attempting to remain optimistic about the results of her's, he views his powers as merely another tool to assist him in hunting and selfish purposes. It's helped him survive.
His ears slightly unflatten to be able to listen to the female's words, and they both frighten and sooth him at the same time. Her mate's land? She's an alpha female? Vague confusion wars with immediate suspicion. She didn't look like an alpha female...or act like it, either, compared to all the shining examples he's had in his past of the type. In fact, she merely acted downright cheerful. Solaris's gaze darkens slightly, and he shoots edgy looks over his shoulder, as if gauging his getaway possibilities.
"S-Solaris, my lady Amelie. Just Solaris," he quivers out in a voice that's little more than a whisper, but he latches onto the last words in no little confusion. She cannot see him properly? Was she blind? "Forgive me, my lady - I don't understand," he adds meekly.

The questions jumble through his head like frantic puppies ready to be out of the den. But he's had enough experience to keep such questions in check...questions generally got one in trouble, and he'd had enough trouble to last him several lifetimes over. Still, he retains a healthy wariness of anyone honestly open and willing to have him use their name, rather than a title.
Oh, so she is blind. That explains a few things...but those eyes are still eerie. But what did she mean by 'too long, and the lights go out'?
He doesn't really respond to the comment about his name, as compliments are often given by only those who want something in return, usually at a higher price than he's willing to pay. The vagabond shifts from paw to paw, nervous. "Please la - miss Am-ee-l-ee," He stumbles over the foreign name again...it sounds so odd on his tongue. "Nothing travels me, I came this way alone. I have no pack." Not one that he'd admit to, anyway. If they were friends of Reicher, they'd ship him straight back to the alpha...and if they were foes, he'd be just as well off as the former scenario. He won't win either way, so it's best just to lie about these things. He licks his lips, his mouth dry. "Please - tell your a-alpha I mean no harm, didn't mean to trespass...it was an accident." Another cower, even though she can't see it...the habit is just too engrained. Besides, she could be lying...those eyes are just...odd.
All the while, his seer sense is still shrinking inwards. I'm not here, go away, I'm not here, there's nothing here -
