(( Yes, my title sucks. XD;; But it should tell you everything you need to know about this thread. ))
Since she had about three hours between shifts at work, Chandra was sitting in the HQ. Sitting with her feet up on the couch, she had her back to the door and The Book spread open on her lap. Every so often she would flip a page, only to frown and flip back.
What she - and no one else - could see was that the pages were constantly shifting. They were trying to hide information from her and Chandra did not like it. Finally, realizing she didn't currently have the concentration to fight the book, she slammed the volume shut and tucked it back into the folds of her cloak.
Leaning back against the arm of the couch, she closed her eyes momentarily.

Messy, rainy weather never bode well for a Legend who had a tendency to dissolve upon contact with water. Puchi currently had her Legend all but stuffed under her shirt, arms clasped round her stomach to hold him in, gasping and heaving as she ran for shelter. Please, please let HQ be close -
With all the pomp and circumstance that typically accompanied a bedraggled scientist with a strange protruding lump concentrated around her tummy, Puchi burst into the HQ with a mighty sigh of relief. She was soaked through and through, but hopefully Lun wasn't just goo in her arms. Well. More so than usual.
"Hey," she said, resting her chin against her chest. From the open collar of her shirt, she could see a pair of white, empty eyes peering back up at her. Well, Lun seemed relatively intact. It had just started raining right before they made it to headquarters.
They'd be stuck here until it stopped though.
Reaching under her shirt, Puchiko pulled Alun free, holding him by the waist as he peered curiously round the room. Puchiko, however, was more concerned with the baby himself, and whether all his limbs were still attached. She turned him this way and that to study him - upside-down, sideways, backwards - in order to make a thorough survey. Indeed he was! Haha!
She was such a good mom.
It wasn't long before Lun's eyes made their way to Chandra, and the orbits of his planets shifted upward just slightly. He was curious. A wide, toothless smile stretched across his face as he raised his hand and waved brightly in her direction. Puchiko, finally aware of her surroundings - and her audience - glanced towards Chandra as well.
"Oh," she said with deliberate slowness. "Hi-iii." Clearing her throat, Puchiko held Alun carefully away from her wet shirt. She probably shouldn't hold him much longer - wet fingers likely wouldn't be good for Alun. "Hey, you think you could do me a favor? Hold him okay? I gotta - gotta dry off, water's no good for him he kind of disappears BE BACK IN A SEC."
Puchi sped towards the bathroom, dropping the baby unceremoniously on the couch as she zoomed past. Alun, for his part, bounced once and then remained completely still, staring at Chandra with eerily unblinking eyes. Then, once more, he raised his hand and waggled his fingers cheerily at her.
((It begins! 8D. And sorry for the bizarre beginning, I got inspired XD.))

Chandra's mouth made a little round "O" as something oddly liquid and yet humanoid was dumped on the couch with her. Ever curious, she leaned her face forward until she was staring right into Alun's eyes. Or what had to be eyes. She noted they didn't seem to blink and thought that odd, although her own long pauses between blinks often unsettled others.
"You," she said, holding up a pale hand to finger wave back at Alun, "are very interesting. May I touch you? I am not wet."
She moved a hand to lightly touch the top of Alun's head. She was curious as to how solid he was. The woman accompanying him, who had so easily abandoned him to a stranger's care, had said somthing about disappearing and water - but he also seemed to hold himself together quite well on the couch. It was a puzzle and Chandra liked puzzles. She found them much more interesting than babies.

Alun met Chandra's stare evenly, though there was no challenge in his eyes - in fact, there was nothing in them at all. For Puchiko the vacancy they held, just pristine white, was far more unsettling than any of Alun's other extraordinary features by this point. Still, it was hardly the baby's intention to be malevolent, or even contrary, and he patiently allowed Chandra's inspection to progress.
Touching him felt... strange. While Chandra's fingers did not immediately pass through there was the feeling that, with a little more pressure applied, they would easily break through the thin yellow membrane and into the baby itself. The skin felt almost chilled, as if Alun had just emerged from a nice nap in the refridgerator, and damp.
Overall, not an unpleasant thing to touch. Slick, smooth, perhaps pleasantly cool on a muggy summer day such as this - but it didn't even begin to approach the realm of "normal." If Chandra was looking for a good way to occupy her time, puzzling out Alun's skin was always an entertaining method. Puchi had been studying its composition and characteristics for a little over a year now, and had yet to find anything truly newsworthy.
In an effort to return the gesture like one would a handshake, Alun lifted a hand and pressed it delicately to the crook of Chandra's outstretched elbow. A strange smile split the baby's features once more. There now! They were properly introduced.

Ah, he was delicate. Chandra withdrew her fingers, not wanting to cause permanent harm to this baby. She did however appreciate his temperature, since she herself was quite cold to the touch. She gave him a small smile, which didn't quite reach her eyes before it disappeared, knowing that mirroring this sort of happy expression seemed to set others at ease.
"Pleased to meet you," she said softly, allowing him to touch her arm. She couldn't help looking at his eyes. He could clearly see, since he had touched her - but they were so different from any others she had seen.
In fact, his almost-liquid composition was one of the least strange things about him now that she studied him more. His eyes, the planets... he was certainly different.
"May I touch one of your planets?" She asked, guesturing to one although she wasn't entriely convinced he could see her out of those eyes.

Kind gesture though it was, the actual purpose behind the smile was lost upon Alun. He already seemed perfectly at ease with the stranger, smile or no - in fact, Alun seemed to be freakishly calm wherever he was - and her efforts were met with the same tolerant, vacant-eyed stare. Still, the corners of his mouth curved upward just slightly, and Alun smiled back politely.
Like Chandra, the smile didn't reach his eyes either - then again, there wasn't much to reach.
At the mention of his planets Alun's eyes rolled upward, exposing only more white, to peer at the spheres tracing lazy, calm circles round his head. Unfortunately the planets were far, far more delicate than his strange, filmy skin, and were not something he typically allowed others to touch. Strange things tended to happen when he did. But he had been playing with them as of late, seeing how far he could take them, where they could stretch and pull and twirl off to.
Well, maybe. Maybe Chandra could touch them. No harm in finding out.
Reaching a hand up, he carefully plucked a planet from orbit, brow creasing with concentration. For a moment all the planets stopped moving, nearly backing up into one another like a train halting suddenly in its tracks. Then, gradually, the wrinkles in Alun's forehead ebbed away and, one by one, the planets began bobbing round merrily once more. Smiling like always, Alun spread his palm and with a gentle, wobbling motion, the planet weaved its way over to Chandra.
It made him feel a little dizzy, but it was nothing severe. The other planets were moving visibly faster, and a hundred other impercetible changes had been made in order to make up for the temporary loss of that one planet.

Wide-eyed and holding her breath just a little, Chandra reached out to just delicately brush a fingertip across the surface of the planet Lun had sent her. She could appreciate the amount of effort it seemed to have taken him to send it in her direction - and somehow the change in the other planets' patterns made her reluctant to really grab a hold of and study the planet she had been offered.
"Thank you." She sat backwards, having still be sitting quite close to the young Legend. She certainly wasn't normally clumsy, but everything about Lun made Chandra want to be very careful.
Not that she didn't like Lun. He was quiet for one, her own preferred state of being, and he was different.

The planet Lun had selected for Chandra's inspection was, for obvious reasons, rather small - but it was among the larger planets in Lun's little "galaxy." Holding it felt much like holding a snowball, and thin white trails followed after Chandra's fingers. Clouds, most likely.
Here was hoping she wasn't accidentally destroying any tiny cities!
While Alun made no immediate reply to Chandra, he eventually gave her knee a neat little pat and settled back comfortably, hands folded quietly on his lap. He took the opportunity to instead inspect his new couch companion. She certainly seemed a good deal older and taller than he was, not like the other Legends he had met - they were all babies. And she had a funny looking book with her as well, though to Lun it appeared to be nothing out of the ordinary.
It was at that moment that Puchi decided to schlep herself back in, still wet but with at least drier palms. "Sorry about that," she apologized, pulling her wet shirt away from her chest with a series of sharp, sucking noises. "Alun's weird, you can't really have him in water for long or he literally goes to pieces. I mean he grows back or something but - "
Shaking her head, Puchi realized that she should probably introduce herself first. "Hi," she said, extending a hand towards Chandra. "I'm Puchi, and that's Alun. You got one of these tiny babies too somewhere?"

Chandra sat up straight and extended a cold hand to Puchiko. Her eyes widened slightly in response to the question about babies, but otherwise she had a constant serious expression.
"No," she said, a little too loudly for the small distance separating her and Puchi. "I do not have children. I do not believe any of the current Legends have produced offspring."

Puchiko shook her hand warmly, arm pumping up and down vigorously in typical Puchi fashion. Eventually, Chandra was released from her grip and Puchi ran a hand through her wet hair, bits and ends sticking up as her hand passed through them. "Oh, you're a Legend? My mistake - I thought you were a guardian like me or something. It's kind of hard to tell, all sorts of weird folks out and about snatching up kids left and right. I mean, not kidnapping or anything, just - well. You get my drift. Either way my apologies, stupid error on my part."
The planet, no longer the center of attention, seemed to sulk for a few seconds as it dipped lower, and lower, before suddenly snapping back into Lun's "halo" of planets. The yellow Legend reeled slightly, blinking his eyes rapidly before relaxing once more into his Buddha-like calm.
"Hope he hasn't been a pest or anything," Puchi said, gesturing at Alun. He had a tendency to do stupid things that made his guardian's life considerably more difficult.

"Yes," Chandra said, blinking slowly at Puchi. "I am a Legend. I do not make a practice of snatching kids."
She really wasn't sure where to go from there momentarily, but she shook it off. It was doubtful this woman had snatched Lun although that was what she had, to Chandra's mind, implied.
"He has not been a pest," Chandra said, watching Lun's planet return out of the corner of her eye. "He is quiet calm and quiet. You have a good child. His planets are very intriguing."

"Too quiet, if you ask me. It's almost impossible to get a reaction out of him." Puchiko sighed, moving to squat in front of the couch and pat Alun lightly on the head. Alun blinked placidly in return, hands still folded on his lap, and glanced sideways at Chandra in a manner that nearly seemed to scream "I've never felt so patronized in my entire life."
"I mean, I've tried poking and prodding him, and he isn't even ticklish." To prove her point Puchiko stuck the tip of one finger into Alun's arm and wiggled it around. The baby didn't even seem to notice, and instead occupied himself by rearranging his planets into different patterns. Puchiko frowned, pulling her finger back. "Only thing so far that seems to get him going is classical music, go figure. I can't stand the stuff personally, I get bored."
Suddenly the scientist brightened, and she turned to Chandra with a grin that seemed a little unhinged. "Hey, if you find him so interesting you wanna have a go experimenting on him? Nothing inhumane or unethical or anything, I mean, I'm not a bad person. It's fun to watch him drink a milkshake though."
The possibilty of a milkshake seemed to finally grab the attention of Alun, and he sat up straighter, planets wobbling in earnest hope.

When Puchi began to poke at Lun, Chandra sat forward a bit in alarm. Did children enjoy that? She knew she would not have, although it had been mentioned she was an abnormal child.
"Classical music is nice," she piped up. "but I find the emotions the compositions are meant to evoke difficult to decipher."
A milkshake? It had to be a drink, since it was used as the argument of the verb to drink - but Chandra had never actually encountered something that went by that name.
"A milkshake?" One of her eyebrows lifted slighty, a very obvious sign of confusion for a rather expressionless person. "I would be interested to see what a milkshake is."

"Flavored milk?" Chandra reflexively made a horrible face. She disliked milk and the texture of it. But if Lun liked it, she would not want to deprive him of it. Still looking doubtful, she stood up from the couch. "I am not sure, but Lun appears excited. Let us go make these milkshakes you speak of."
