Wow, I'm Catholic, and I had a whole CRAP LOAD of mental blocks when it came to masterbating. Heh, I thought I was going to burn in hell for a long time eek . Fortunately my friend Jaclyn (She of the common sense queens!) Kind of explained it to me in a way that I understood better I think. It's natural, and as long as you're not sleeping around, or choosing to be 'easy' with totally random guys (as a few of my 'good church girl' friends did at the time) it should be nobodies business but your own what you choose to do with your body. Even if what you do is considered 'bad' by other people. I think that's right. As long as you take care and responsibilty for what you do with yourself, and feel no regrets, have fun!

Of course it's all right. You may want to keep the information to yourself, though, since parents usually prefer not to think about their children's burgeoning sexuality. Your friends may be so embarrassed about their own masturbatory experiences (especially if they're religious) that they'd feel obligated to joke about it or put it down verbally even if they wouldn't actually think badly of you for it. But, short answer, it's fine. Just don't hurt yourself.
