Well not really 4 stomachs as 4 'digestive compartments' or chambers. Cattle aren't the only ones; goats, sheep, camels, llamas, giraffes, bison, buffalo, deer, wildebeest, and antelope also have 4 chamber stomachs. They are a class of aminal called Ruminant... any hooved animal that digests its food in two steps. First by eating the raw material and regurgitating a semi-digested form known as cud, then eating the cud, a process called ruminating. A cow will chew on her cud for 8 hours a day eek
I used to have cows and goats, and was forced to learn such things by my grandparents. Butchering day had the advantage of physically handing and viewing the organs. gonk
I love goats, they have personality the day they are born, they are the best. heart
Sorry for hijacking... good joke mrgreen
