The clear water of the river sparkled with diamonds of light from the morning sun, moving and shining with the small ripples in the water. The bright sun and sky foretold the day to be a clear, cloudless one. It would be a relief from the rain that had plagued the area the past few days. There was already life stirring, bugs and small animals went about thier business in the weeds along the stream and the plains beyond.
A pair of pink eyes opened slowly as a beam of sunlight shone down on the face that held them. The wold dog growled at it, not wanting to be woken up. He sighed and stood anyway, shaking off the sleep from his body with a few shakes of his blue and white coat. He licked his lips a few times as he padded towards the small stream he had been living by for almost a week now. He hadn't seen anyone come by here, and the scents that filled the air told him that no one had been there in a while.
Jeuri hoped no one would come by any time soon. The fairly nice looking dog wasn't the most friendly, his appearance giving off a sense of beauty and kindness, when really he was the exact opossite.
With a sigh he flopped to the ground, yawning widely and wondering what to do for the day.

Jamaa quickly came into the Pride Lands from the south, keeping his body low to avoid detection. His golden eyes shifting to and fro; Jamaa was sneaking away from the pack....again.
"Good." he straightened himself up knowing he was safe from any eyes or ears. "Now Jamaa can relax, that he could." he sighed, But Kizaki will probably wander away again and Temari is gonna kill me.... Sometimes the brown earthly dog wondered why he even wandered from the pack lands.
Jamaa went into a slow trot heading toward the main watering hole.

A blue ear flicked around as he heard soft steps approaching. Jeuri opened one eye, looking upon an earthly dog coming closer towards him. A soft growl escaped from the white and blue males throat as he stood. He was fairly large, most definitely bigger than most, although he really hadn't seen very many other dogs in his life. And he liked it that way.
"Who are you?" He called out in a gruff, slightly aggitated voice. He was sitting across the stream from the other, and he was glad. He wasn't in the mood for a fight, although Jeuri would fight anyone if he was provoked enough to do so. Pink eyes watched the other closely and with a suspicious edge, never wavering from thier target.

Golden eyes jerked over at the other canine, just as tall as himself. The blue white fur colored canine said something that was carried away with the wind. However, Jamaa caught two of the words. 'who' and 'you'. Who are you?
"My name's Jamaa, and you?" he called back. It's not often one sees another of his species outside of his/her own pack especially one of unique colors. Curious, Jamaa set a paw into the river, making his way across. The colors of the wild dog grew brighter as he got closer.

Jeuri wondered who this other male was, and he eyed the dogs colors with a slight curioisty. He had never seen colors like that on another creature before.
Wary, Jeuri stood on all fours, his stance a defensive one. "I am Jeuri. Why are you here?" He asked, watching the other closely. He stood his ground as the stranger approached.

"Shhhh!" he hushed. "Jamaa is trying to get some alone time from his pack. Jamaa came back here because he lives here." he explained. Jamaa noticed that this dog was feeling uncomfortable. Reluctantly, Jamaa sat down showing he comes with no harm to this dog.
Jamaa caught Jeuri eyeing him. "What are you looking at?" Jamaa smells like wet dog...

(Sorry for that delay, had to let my neighbors dog out. xP)
Jeuri eyed him for a few moments, then nodded slightly, still not completely trusting this other dog. "Oh, I didn't think anyone lived here. But if you live with your pack, that means this is thier land as well?" He wasn't happy about being told that he was intruding on another packs territory, but he was one to respect that, ad he would leave if he needed to.

"What? Oh no, this land belongs to Mufasa. Jamaa would dare challenge the Lion King." The Pride Lands belonged to the lions of Pride Rock. "Jamaa was born here, and I still have a den here. The Pack is in the south." he cocked his head slightly.
"Something bothering you, Jeuri?"

Jeuri raised a brow. Mufasa? Who was that? Noticing the do sitting down, he followe suit but remained tense. "No, not really. I'm just thinking." He said, looking distracted. He certainly wasn't the friendliest wild dog in the world. "Why did you venture from your pack?" He asked suddenly, watching the other with mild curiousity.

Jamaa dipped slightly, bringing his head back with a smile. "Just like to be free for a while. So many pups running around. My daughter often wanders too so Jamaa often has to go find her. My mate has her way of escape. It's hectic." He laughed. It wasn't often he talked to another about himself, let alone a stranger.
"Jamaa feels like Jamaa has to escape from it all, y'know?"

Jeuri nodded slowly. "I understand." He didn't really, since Jeuni had never had children. He had once had a mate though, and Jeuni doubted that he would love anyone else after that.
With much effort, Jeuri pushed the past aside, knowing now was not the time for dwelling on it. "How many children do you have?" He asked, mostly because there was nothing else to ask.

"None." he said bluntly. It was true, Jamaa himself has no offspring of his own. Temari, his 'mate', was already pregnant when the two met. Kizaki and the two other boys are Temari's pups. However, Jamaa sees Kizaki as his own because of how close Temari and Kizaki are to him. "No pups of my own. Just....not yet."
What baffled the dog was the way he acted as he spoke. It was as if the dog was reliving something, something bad. "Are you okay?"

Jeuri did indeed look like he was reliving something. His eyes were glazed over and he had a distant expression. As the other spoke, he was shaken from his memories and he focused on the present once more.
"What? Oh... Yeah, I'm fine. Fine." He said softly, shaking himself from his stupor. "Sorry." He wasn't sure what else to say, so the two sat in an awkward silence.

Jamaa cocked a brow. "Are you sure? You look troubled."
Jamaa stood up, moved around Jeuri. He lowered his head, pushing the dog. "Come on, lets go to the watering hole. It's a good place to calm yourself. What else do you got to do, right?" he said, nudging him.

Jeuri held back a growl as he stood. "Please don't push me." He said softly, his voice filled with anger. He hated being told what to do, and even more so, being pushed around. "I can do it myself." He walked to the river and took a long drink before wading in slowly.
