Is it just me or.... are there none left? All of the kids who're known to be gay/bi at my high school are sooooo feminine. I personally don't find that attractive sad , being as that i'm not really feminine. I dress nicely and if you heard me talk, you wouldn't think that i was gay/bi. (some people you can just sort of tell by the way their voice sounds, i think) . I don't knowwwwww, are any of you guys more.. er.. masculine?

If you call me femme I will stab you with a Taco Bell spork.

I really only know femme guy.. out of the.. holy crap.. I dunno.. 50-75 gay guys that I know?

I sound straight. I guess I "look" straight (though not everyday- not at work anyways). I just plain act eccentric.

There are PLENTY left. You just gotta get out of hs to find them. Don't worry young padawan. You will find your butch men.

I think that when a lot of young gay men discover that they're gay, they feel that they have to act like it to. Many of them don't know real gay men in real life, so they usually only see them in the Media, and you know how they're portrayed in the media.. so as I said, I think they feel that since they know that they're gay, they need to act like that. That, or that's just who they are and they can't help but act like that.

I'm sort of a femme. It's not my fault though really.. I just sound naturally feminine, dress nice, and I'm fun/out-going. Combine the 3 and you get a femme.

Well, I'm not a man, but I can comment on perception. whee
I know straight men that act feminine, but I would only describe a few of the gay/bi men I know as even close to such. I mean, I knew that they (meaning the masculine guys) weren't straight, but it was more woman's intuition than their way of acting.

There are all kinds of people out there, some more concentrated than others and some more willing to flock with the crowd than others. The "flockers" note that it's socially unacceptable to be LGBT in some areas, and that it's even more unnacceptable to be a gay man and actually act masculine. Sometimes, if you're out, you get forced into a role that you may or may not want to play.

I'm masculine...I personally can't stand all the femme guys running around. I mean really if I'm going to date a man I want to date a MAN...not a woman with a p***s. I'm bi and am about ready to break up with my BF because I just cannot stand him and his whole femme thing he's going through. I've talked to him and that's it...no more. In fact most of us don't like femme guys, most of us don't even like talking to you...I'm a fairly clean person, I like fashion, and I'm eccentric; but I've been known to not shower for a few days because I don't give a ********, or even just go out in public with something god awful because I don't give a ********, and basically just shut my damn mouth(that is my definition of opposite of eccentric...just shut the ******** up). So really all you little gay boys that think you're cool because you can act like the media says you are supposed to act if you're gay/bi, just ******** quit be yourself and stop following "gay guidelines" s**t. I could go on so much more, but most of you by this point want me dead, so ******** it.

I guess you can't call me femme, but I do have some of the "typical" charictics (ie. talking with my hands, and the "hand thing"). Other than that I'm quite masculine.

it's not that I hate femmes, just sterotypical gays. The lisp, limpwritedm whiney, etc.

and wtf is up with the whole metrosexual deal, if you're gay, be gay, if not, and you act that way by choise, you're a wannabe.

I don't think in order to be masculine you have to skip showers, nor do I think practicing good hygiene makes you a femme. I think everyone should practice good hygiene. Would you honestly want to date or be close to someone who hasn't showered in a few days?

Other than that, I mostly agree with what you've said.

EDIT:

Also, I see a lot of femme haters out in this thread. THis is complete bullshit.

I'm not masculine 100% of the time, and i'm not efemminite 100% of the time. i'm somewhere in between, and that's just my personality.

My personality governs the way I act, not my sexuality. Which I expect is the same for... well... everyone in general.

Speaks loads about you people ripping on femmes. Maybe you should take a step back, breathe, and examine your self before you start telling other gays how to be gay "The Right Way".
