A black-tipped tail flitted through the air as a young female cheetah bounded through the brush, her red eyes darting around her.
"You're going too fast again," a calm voice called from behind her, resonating from the maw of a pale, older cheetah. His legs wobbled uncertainly as he padded across the ground, eyes half-closed and unfocused. It had been like this for a few weeks now, since she found the blind-cheetah half-dead. It began as a game to her, he knew, but she hadn't left him yet, and he was grateful for that.
The younger of the pair whined quietly and tilted her head back as she called. "You're just going too slow, Dosari!" Bara's words seemed to have a hint of irritation, but her voice had a playful tone, one the older male had grown to distinguish. Since she had met the pale one, she had become begrudgingly accustomed to the words 'follow me'. Sometimes her mischievous nature tugged at her to skip further ahead, but her conscience often kept her restless curiosity in check. She slowed her pace, jumping over a fallen tree limb before calling back to him quickly. "Branch.."
Dosari groped around at the floor as he moved behind her, before finding the obstruction and darting around it. He smiled softly in the cub's general direction and raised his voice a bit. "My little guardian angel.."
He couldn't see her nose wrinkling in distaste at that, but he chuckled at the faint sound of her grumbles.

Zakiya slowly moved through the long grass, her pace slower than usual, even for this femme, who was usually such a sedate walker. The reason for her snail's pace was the discovery of surprising news: she was pregnant. She'd first noticed not that many days ago, at the first tiny bit of movement. Not much, but still noticeable. She supposed she should have caught on when her belly began growing, but she had rather lamely blamed that on the fact that she was remaining in one place for once in her life, so she wasn't burning as much energy and fat. But now she knew better. She was going to have cubs. The thought both overjoyed and terrified her.
And speaking of cubs... what was she to tell Korou and Tama? How would they take the news? Would they be happy? And how would she manage looking after more, when those two already occupied her completely? Sadly, Kiya did not know the answer to these troublesome questions. She could only find out as time went by. That's how she dealt with most problems: meet them head on when they came at you, and try to deal with them as best you can.
With a sigh, the female finally looked up from where her light purple eyes had been scanning the ground in front of her, watching her dark, spotless legs disappear in the grass. She flicks an equally spotless tail behind her as she notices the two other cheetahs directly in front of her. A soft smile stretches her maw. A cub, and a female at that. It had been a while since she'd seen a female cheetah, even ones older than this little femme. And a paler male behind her, too. Possibly a young father? No... they bore no resemblance she could see, so perhaps not.
"Hello!" she abruptly calls out, deciding she'd engage them in conversation, if they weren't too wary of her, as others sometimes tended to be. She was worrying her mind over this pregnancy and her current cubs, and she did need a distraction. These two might provide it for her, if they were friendly enough.
