At 13, there is no absolute possible way your going to get a good, crisp, strong band.I've tried doing that many times when I was younger and no one is serious at 13.

Find people to play other instruments. Have fun.
As a rule of thumb, if you somehow find yourself in a gig and can't play well, put on a good show with lots of energy. Keep up the energy even after you can play well as best you can. Have fun.

Finding some people your age that play is a good start to getting a band together. I myself as a bass player haven't had much trouble finding a band but yet i haven't really looked. Dancing with myself and I are still looking for a drummer for our band but hopefuly the asain guy I work with will buy a drum set friday! and be with our band.

Wait till you acquire friends that play guitar, bass, or drums, and just hook up with them and start jamming. I don't like to go out and find peopl i dont know, same age or not, and start jamming with them, because you don't know if your styles and/or personalities will gel like you want them to. The best route is making friends with other players. I still havn't found a drummer that isnt an a*****e here, though :

Drummers tend to be in high demand, thus the cocky attitude. Not such a great thing.

you have to build a drummer, get them when their younger so then you can make them into what you want them to be. Our drummer is asian and is kind of stupid (and bows alot) so hes not an a*****e. Get an asain drummer!

Yes, yes you should. It'd be fun molding someone into what you want them to be just make sure they don't try coming on to you or some s**t like that later on......People can be creepy

Well I say you have to have chemistry and enjoy playing with the guys you create a band with. At 13, you might be young and a bit immature but you can start a band if you want, just play and have fun
