Fayina Tao was slinking through the woods in a stiff manner, though sometimes she'd wince once she put weight on her front, left paw. That's where Stray had bitten down, and held on. She wasn't in poor shape, but nor was she in good shape. She had a gash obver her right eye, the blood was sticky and almost dry now, as well as some blood about her neck and shoulders, probably the worst wound she'd gotten. Or perhaps the most intimidating one, to her mind?
She wasn't on the search for a body of water, or even a nice place to get clean. She was still needing some sort of prey. Though she'd had no such luck since Mr. White had left her alone, and she didn't realize it was from the distinct wolfs' blood smell, smeared about her. Both her's and Stray's, to be honest. She was lucky she'd given almost as good as she got, otherwhise she might be dead from trying to attack the male again.
Her thoughts were flickering too fast for her mind to get a good grasp on them, but she liked it better than having not hunts, like what happened when she'd been fighting. She didn't realize that was what hunting did to her mind. No expression reined over her face, her tail was slightly tucked and her ears straight up.
"Come out, little bunnies." She murmered. That was the easiest for her to catch, though her favorite was deer.

When Fayina hear the other's voice she froze, eyes darting about as her body stay as still as a rock. Her hackles rose slightly as her gaze landed on Bastet. At first she thought him a dull gray, just that. But then she realized his pelt did hold patterens, and her eyes automatically trailed them. Her ears flickered, almost as if they were trying to catch his words literally.
After a moment she swallowed, eyes moving to meet his own, but they slipped off of his face again. His pelt was much more interesting than his eyes. "Help? No the last who helped me hunt was attacked." She stated, matter of factly. And she said it as if it was nothing, like attacking a hunting companion didn't even matter! "Though I guess I got the worst of it." She muttered quietly, more to herself than to him.
"Need what more than rabbits?" She sounded slightly suspicious, not realizing it was a joke. "Your help?" her head tilted, if that was the case then it made no sense. Wasn't he offering his help in hunting rabbits..?
She didn't realize that he was in fact asking if she needed any help with her well-being.

"Pretty?" She questioned, a foreign word to her. She shrugged it off and continued on. "You can thin away to nothing? Fayina was unaware.." She looked thoughtful for a moment before breifly letting a smile touch her maw, feeling that this one was a bit nervous. Nervous wolves made her uneasy, and nervous herself. The smile had fled once right after she showed it, though.
Hunting alone was probably the first thing she needed, to be truthful. She didn't want to attack another wolf today! "Er... perhaps I will wait on the hunting. I could use some water though, if you know where it is?" She asked slowly, her gaze moving over the land around them. Yes, she supposed she could keep him company, it was boring being alone. "I don't do very well, hunting with others.." She said slowly, her tail pressing against her legs and her ears flicking back, a breif moment of shame, guilt and perhaps anger.
"But I do well at swimming." She said, meaning this as a bit of a joke.

Fayina moved to her feet as he did, tail flicking back and forth a few times before hanging limp. "I like swimming." She repeated, then shrugged. "What is fishing?" She'd never been fishing herself, she liked deer a lot. Though it was hard to pull a single deer down by yourself, so she often stuck to eating rabbits and other small animals.
"Bastet?" The name rolled off her tongue in an amused manner, and she said it a few more times to herself. Quietly, of course. "Fayina Tao is my name, but shorten it as you wish, as it's in our wolfish natures. Why do you think names are shortened?" She asked, not bothering to tell him that she wouldn't remember his name anyways; at least, it was very hard for her to remember a name. But she liked the ring of his, so there was hope yet.
"A shortened name lacks the power a full one has, yes?" Though not all wolves agreed with this, which struck her as funny. She believed it firmly, and firmly was how she believed most of her ideals. "Bastet is a good name. You wouldn't want it shortened to Bast, or Tet." Well, in Fay's view he wouldn't want it shortened, but it was really up to him.

Her left ear flicked as she walked along, listening to his response of what fishing was. Catching rabbits, underwater? Actually that sounded like fun! Her muzzle slipped into a bright smile for a few moments, longer than her normal show of expression. "Better than land meat? I wish to try this fishing.." Though she secretly thought she wouldn't be good at it. The smaller a thing was, the harder time Fayina had catching it. "Do they kick.. or bite?" Her head tilted, looking to him. Even the thought of a fish kicking you was amusing. Fayina didn't make the connection of the little silvery things she always saw in the water as being fish. Which made her seem horribly dense, really.
And on the whole name subject? She'd never thought of it that way. She cringed slightly, she didn't like when things burst her 'perfect' logic. "There isn't?" She'd never fully trusted someone, she couldn't even remember a time she'd spent with a wolf that wasn't longer than a day or so. An equal? No wolf was truly equal to another, that was just crazy. "I apologize. If you do not feel.. equal with me.. should I call you Bas?" She looked to him, eyes wide and a bit confused. How could shortening a name make someone feel equal? She swallowed and looked away, eyes seaking out the water they were going to.
"A nice name? Thank you." She said, softly and quietly. She usually thought of it as an annoying name, wondering why there were two distinct parts to it, why it did not run together so smoothly as others' names did. She whined slightly, though she didn't mean it to be audible to the other. This meeting was making her feel decidedly awkward. All of the other wolves had never really questioned her beliefs, or offered their own in response anyhow. It was odd thinking differently of something you'd thought to be one way for such a long time. "Bastet is a very interesting wolf." She finally said, and she ment it as a compliment. "I think I will enjoy fishing with you."

Squiggle? What the hell was squiggling! Well, she'd just have to find out, wouldn't she? So what she knew about fishing, so far. They were tastey. They squiggled. It was tricky getting them out of the water. Well, that seemed like little information to go one but she could always watch how Bastet did it.
Rank exist only in pack. Fayina almost froze when she heard that, it wasn't true! No, rank happened everywhere! Her eyes were wide when he caught the eye contact with her, and once he broke the connection she continued to stare at him. Though this wouldn't continue for long, seeing as her paw hit sharply against a small rock, and with a sharp breath she looked down at it, lip curling slightly. Her left ear flicked at his other words. Bast as a friend? Well she'd never actually had a friend before. She wondered what, exactly, did friends do for you? It was a pity, really. She liked his full name very much, but if calling him Bast ment he was a friend... and she wanted a friend, well she only saw one sollution. "Okay, I will call you Bast." She said, ears perking.
"Pain? Oh no, Bast does not make Fayina hurt.. she hit her paw on a rock." Sometimes Fayina could be so... oblivious. Uncomfortable.. yes. "I just... I feel.." Something told her this was wrong, wrong wording. She didn't often tell others how she felt, about anything. Unless it was through other words besides 'I feel'. (if that makes sense o-o) "This meeting has brought new ideas into my mind." She finally said, looking quickly around, almost in a panic. But seeing no one, not that anyone was following her, or even looking for her, she calmed.
She eyed the large rock a moment, it looked kind of slippery. Well, as in Rome. She lept easily enough, even landed pretty well. Minus slipping a little, which quickly made her press against the other for support. Though that seemed to surprise her even more, as she flinched away from Bastet and had to waver a little longer to come to balance. She took a deep breath and eyed the water, about to apologize to him when she saw the little silvers. "Oh!" She exclaimed, leaning forward and down to peer at them. "This is what fish is?" She asked slowly, glancing toward him. "I never knew you could eat these." Well. Those were more like minnos, and who ate minnos? She needed bigger fish.
