What do you think of this series?

What would you do to inpove this series? (Game spot gave Romancing SaGa (The ps2 verison.) and Unlimited SaGa low scores so I want to know what would you do.)

They are good, but look... I don't like the gamespot's grade (because FFX, FFVIII, SC3...) These two SaGas are regular games.

1st) of all the story, what do you can expect for a rpg without the good story.

2nd) Inovate the battle system or/and level up system. Even that you make a system that is alike for people, sometimes appear somebody that think the system is interesting and different and buy (my case).

3rd) And at last the item quantity and sidequests. As long remains things that you didn't do you will play the game, at least good part of the RPG players are like this.

PS: Square-Enix strikes again. See what I mean with "since Squaresoft changes the name it's no more the same", Square could work better on this game.

Well, I have Unlimited SaGa, but I've never finished it... I don't think I'll finish it either...

I have SaGa Frontier 1 & 2, Unlimited SaGa and Romancing SaGa. I did a quick run of Romancing Saga to try it out once and it was very interesting. I like the battle system of it though and the music I think is very good. Romancing Saga isn't on my list as a "must beat" game so I won't be playing it for awhile. ^_^;

I to also have Saga Frontier 1 & 2 and Unlimited. I am not ultra impressed with Unlimited as I was with Saga Frontier 1 & 2.

On a side note, The only real battle system I really liked was either Tactics Ogre or Final Fantasy 2 (The NES FF2, not the SNES FF2) Tactics Ogre I just liked because there was so many creatures you could get your team. PLus, you could have a multitude of people during battle at one time. A couple of fighters, couple of Valkyries, couple of mages, and couple of dragons.

Final Fantasy 2 for NES I liked because the character stats was not based on your characters experience points, it was totally based on how focused you put your characters in combat. Like if you focused on pure attack power, your strength and weapon power would go up,and sometimes your HP once in a while. Or, if you focused on magic attacks, your magic skills and MP would go up. But the amount of skills and how often was also based on how powerful your enemies were. So, the best tactic was to attack yourself so you would gain levels faster, but of course heal yourself before you die. xd

Wasn't the FF tastics was somewhat based on Tactics Orgre? Ya, Final Fantasy 2 is fun, but I wasn't able to get far in Origan. By the way this is getting off topic somewhat, but what version was the closest to FF4's hard type?
