Since someone suggested it in the "original" guild, I think we need a place where we can all get to know each other. Our ages, interests, locations, whatever information we feel like sharing. So everyone, if they want, should post a little bit about themselves. Tell us whatever you want, nothing more, nothing less. Don't worry about being boring, we all have the ability to skip your post if we have to wink

Ok, so I'll start:

I'm Lithwen, obviously, and my real name is Ashley. I'm 17 , in Grade Eleven, live in Nova Scotia (Canada), and have a Dog named Rambo, and a fish named Tre (pronounced Tray).

My interests are typical: Writing, reading, music, movies, Tolkien, and stressing about every single aspect of my life that could have any effect on scholarships.

I used to have big plans to be a rich and successful lawyer, but I've finally decided to persue my REAL dream in life- writing. Of course, since I'll need a way to keep food on the table and pens in my hands, I plan on teaching English. High school would be ideal, but junior high wouldn't be so bad.

As for other activites, I'm the secretary of my school's Key Club (A volunteer organization sponsered by Kiwanis International) and have been elected President for next year. My school also started a GSA this year, and I'm proud to say I was probably one of the first three people to join. Oh, and I volunteer at the local Junior High about once a week. It doesn't seem like a lot, but add a part time job at McDonalds on top of that, and you've got one stressed out school girl.

I've loved Tolkien's work since Grade five, when I first read the hobbit, but didn't read LOTR until Grade Seven. It wasn't until the movies came out that I actually bought a copy, but since then I've become obsessed with all of Tolkien's works and, to some extent, all of his characters, especcially Maedhros.

Anything else of interest?
Well, I've got a boyfriend named Alex. I guess after two and a half years he should be mentioned. Anyone who can put up with me that long deserves all the credit they can get. wink
I also watch Law and Order, CSI, and Lost religiously, and won't go near The O.C with a ten foot pole.

A picture of me (*cringe*)

And, for some reason: Another one (The orange furry thing is a dragon, lol. )

My name is Morgan (or will be once I get it legally changed after college as it would be too complicated to get into now). Let's just say my given name has never suited me and leave it at that.

I'm 20 years old, my birthday is January 1st and I'm a Capricorn. I'm a college junior at Ohio State University- English major. I intend to be a writer. Now I just need to actually finish a book...

I live at home for now, but come September I'm moving into an apartment with my fiancee up around our college- as OSU is in Columbus but I was born and raised in Cincinnati.

I consider myself an eccentric. My hobbies are reading, writing, making things, looking for creative ways to make a quick buck (college, you see...need to pay for it), dressing up in odd garb made by my amazing seamstress friend, sitting outside when it's not too hot and being cute so my girlfriend pays attention to me.

My likes are Elves, books, mythology (especially Greek and Roman), nature, open-minded individuals, literates and many others. Favorite band is The Cure and I have a weakness for pretty goths and Harry Potter.

Dislikes are conservatives who refuse to at least tolerate those who are different- there are many others, but I don't want this to become a rant.

So, nice to meet you all! Beware my quirky sense of humour.

Well, I suppose since we're introducing ourselves here are my stats.

Age: 16
Known As: Sunia or Sunny, I reply to either one.

Likes: Lord of the Rings (obvious), Harry Potter sweatdrop , writing and reading.

Dislikes: Sauron, Melkor and all those crazy baddies that are only found in books.

I still go to High School but that's not going to stop me from writing anything. I don't know what that has to do with anything but in general I love to write. So you'll see a lot of um....sunisms, which basically means quirky sayings and off topic comments. sweatdrop

I'm sure people will see everything about me any time soon. I can't wait to make more friends and debating with people about all things Tolkein or at least discussing such things. Well that's about all for now.

Yay! I love these kinda threads. I like to talk about myself. xd Okay, lessee...
Name: Flannery. I'm named after the auther Flannery O' Conner, and my name means 'flat piece of metal', I believe. xd
Age: 13, almost 14, going into 8th grade. I'm a Libra. ^_^
Pets: I have a black cat named Luna, and a blonde dog named Ivory, and I used to have a fish, but we couldn't take him when we moved, so I was forced to flush him alive by my eeevil mother... (No, actually I love my mom. ^_^)
Siblings: *shudder* Yes... Two horrible little monsters by the names of Lucy and Quincy... -_-
Interests: Lord of the Rings (duh!), X-Men(Nightcrawler is hot!! heart ), anime & manga, shonen ai, slash, art, writing fanfiction, Monty Python, Invader Zim, Monk, Spongebob Squarepants, and Harry Potter (the books, not the movies!).
Dislikes: George Bush (grr), evil conservatives, mosquitos, and having to babysit... -_-
My favorite color is blue, my favorite animal is a wolf, my favorite food are quesadillas, my favorite drink is Powerade, and my lucky numbers are 5, 7, and 13. ^_^
And I actually look like my avatar, minus the hat, and my hair is long and wavy.
I actually read Tolkien's books before I liked them. I read the hobbit myself, and I liked it, but then my dad read me the trilogy, and I got kinda bored and we stopped halfway through the Two Towers. But then I went back and read them out of curiosity, and loved them. ^_^ Thus the obsession began...
Uhh, I think that's about all there is to tell. ^_^ ...Yay!

I'm Sam (antha). I'm 16, I live in Dartmouth NS (Canada). I'm going into grade 11 at Prince Andrew High School with hopes of going to RMC (Royal Military Collage of Canada) afterward, and eventually becoming a historian. I have no pets at the moment. My last was a beige Gerbil I liked to call PeeWee. I have 3 younger brothers, two of them are twins, and the other has a friend who never leaves, so I guess I have four. Edit by Lithwen: You forgot me! If Johnny's your brother, I get sister status!

I can listen to just about anything with a genre, my taste is music is the most diverse of anyone I know. I LOVE watching movies. I rent at least one movie every week. The people at blockbuster know me on a first name basis^_^

The first time I heard of Tolkien was 6 months before FOTR came into theaters. A friend of mine read me the poem/song Frodo sang at the Prancing Pony. I thought it was the origional vesion of hey diddle diddle... sweatdrop
After that I went to see FOTR and instantly fell in love. I havent read much of Tolkien's work, just LOTR and The Hobbit, but what I have read I know a lot about.
My favourite character was Glorfindel in the books, most of the fellowship were too wierd and querky whee

Okey...I shall post about myself.

My name is Samantha (phwa, we have two Samanthas xd ) although I have a ton of nicknames, mainly used by friends on the internet. Other than the obvious Sam and Sammy, my nicknames are Violet, Blueberry, Zam, Shoe Elf, Evil Seagull Demon, Fire Goddess of the Deep South, Soomah, and others I can't think of. I have tons. People randomly give me names.

I turned 14 in January (January 10th, to be specific) and am going into grade 10. My school life is rather strange. I skipped grade two, then in grade four was placed in the Gifted class, and was in Gifted from grade four to eight. Now in high school, there is no Gifted class, so I'm mighty bored in my Academic classes.

I play the Alto Saxophone and the Clarinet, and own each (my brother used to play Clarinet, then quit, so I got his), and go to band camp as well. Yes, band camp. It's not perverted like in American Pie, though. I'm also in bands at school, last year Jr. Band and Jr. Jazz, until I quit Jr. Jazz because it was deliriously easy.

I told that to my math teacher and he said he hates people like me. Of course, he's the one that's also thrown a piece of chalk at me (which I threw back at him, hit him in the stomach) and called me a freak multiple times and a pain in the a**. All in good fun, of course.

I have two cats, my adorable little kitties ^_^ Fluffy and Tiger. I named them when I was 7 and 9, so yeah, great names, huh? Fluffy's sleeping on my bed right now, actually.

To condense about my family..

I have a brother who's 16, three stepsisters who are 23, 16, and 15, and a half-brother who's 2 and a half. He's a cute little guy, although extremely hyperactive. I also have a stepmother, and a stepfather. I live with my mom, stepdad and brother *nods*

Oh, and my grandfather recently got married. He's 79 and widowed. It's really sweet, actually, I attended the wedding (took place in New Brunswick, Canada, where he lives and where I was born), and his wife is really nice. 11 years younger than him, though.

What else..what else. Oh, I live in Ontario, Canada.

See, I could go on for hours...because I have just had a slightly weird life, and I just have a "slightly" weird family. That's the condensed version up there xd

I think that's enough information, haha.

(Lithwen, yew are teh purdy. Marry me? =3)

My life story:

My name is (Mich)Elle, I have no middle name because my parents are un-creative. I am sixteen years old, I have blond hair, blue-grey eyes and am 5'1".
I live with both my parents and my intellectually handicapped sister in a quiet french-english suburb about twenty minutes from Montréal, PQ. I have no pets.
In exactly one week I am going to continue my education at Westwood High School, senior campus. I am in grade 11. After I graduate, I plan to go to Dawson College, into the Illustration and Design program. I'm going to go into graphic design/advertising.

My main hobbies are drawing, reading and the computer. I spend at least a quarter of my day on Gaia/LiveJournal/other sites.
I have diverse tastes in music, but I enjoy J-Rock/J-Pop, Classical music and movie soundtracks (LOTR I-III) as well as bands like The Ramones and other music from before 1990.

I greatly dislike seperatists, stupid fanfic pairings, anything to do with science, my secondary 1-2 science teacher, almost all my neighbours, rap, and just about everything.

Main things that you should know about me if you skipped over the stuff above: I'm tactless, mean, loud/hyperactive, touchy-feely, bitchy and horribly angsty.
My cancerian nature gives me huge mood swings.
My favorite colors are black, silver, gold and dark blue.

You can see the ever-tiniest picture of me on my sidebar at my LiveJournal (OMGPIMP!!1one!). I wear glasses and am seriously half-blind. I can see clearly up to about a foot away from myself.

I'm obsessed with history. I love Ancient Egypt and the 1700s best.

And finally - I read the Hobbit at the beginning of high school, and read LOTR I-III over the span of secondary 2 to the end of secondary four. I actually read 3/4 of ROTK (indexes included) in 3 hours before going in for an operation.

Okay, I'm done.

Well, my real name's Katherine, but most people call me Kat. Or The Elf. It kind of depends on who's talking to me xd [here's a picture of me]

I'm 18 and I graduated from high school in May. I'm going to college in four days eek to major in music education. I live in Iowa, USA, and still will be when I get to school. It's just on the other side of the state (five and a half hour drive domokun ).

I play the violin, sing, paint, sketch, play the piano, read, write and scrapbook in my spare time (the time that I don't spend on the internet). The scrapbooking was good practice when they made me editor of the yearbook for two years in a row xp I loved being in yearbook, but the staff was hopelessly incompetent. domokun

Music is my life, more or less. I've been playing the violin for twelve years and been singing at least that many. I didn't get serious about my voice until high school, though. I suck at the piano xd I just started this year to get ready for majoring in music in college. I love all kinds of music except rap, hip hop, and R&B. I hardly consider rap music though...That's another subject sweatdrop

I read The Lord of the Rings just prior to the movies coming out, and didn't really finish them. One night this year, my dad brought home the first two movies and started watching The Two Towers, and I was instantly hooked - mostly because I wanted to know what the heck was going on xd So I stayed up through the night watching FOTR, and then the next week I went and saw ROTK, cried my eyes out, and came home and started reading the books again. I read The Hobbit in June and have just recently finished reading The Silmarillion, and hope to start Tolkien's other books soon.

Let's see.... My name is Abigail, and this is the third time I've typed up this post. Curse my unstable connection. ;_;

I'm seventeen, going on eighteen, and live in Indiana, though I was born in Britain and plan to move back to London three seconds after I graduate. I'm starting my senoir year tomorrow, and I have two kitties, Sabrina and Shiva, and a nephew thanks to my older sister. ^^

I spend most of my time reading, surfing the internet, playing D&D, or hanging out with my friends.

I'm an aspiring doctor, and once I find a buyer for my arm and leg, I'll hopefully be able to get into medical school and make enough money to buy them back. :p

I've been busted for putting pictures online, so it's no longer available. >_<

Lol, I suppose being co-captain of the guild I suppose that I ought to Introduce myself

My name is Emily Ann(some poeple use my middle name, others don't, you pick) I'm 18 and a half roughly, I have...oh geez. Black, blond, brown, red and caramel colored hair. All Streaks i've put in over the last few years that have blended together. Brown eyes...im just about 5'9.

I live on a small country property just outside of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario with my Mom , Dad, 16-3/4 sister and 13 year old brother. My mom and sister each have a horse, we have five goats, two of them are African pygmis...we have two bouvier de flandres, Julie and Balou, our small pound rescue died a few days ago after ten years with us, and I have three Cats, Wilbur (pound rescue as well, a Gray Persian with gold eyes, with deformed ribs and back legs so that he walks funny) and two kittens who are a few months old, Quinn and Amadeo, both brothers from the same litter, black/white with gold eyes. I live in the basement portion of the house.

I was supposed to graduate gr 12 this past school year but due to the stupid doctors, and multiple problems with my Lupus and Fibromyalgia I failed a few classes due to absence and have to come back for the credits this year. I'm in a re-creational program my councellor at the mental health association set me up with.

I love history, writing and drawing. I'm an avid reader. My goal is to enter into something involving history and literature. I want to be a professor.

I hate shallowness, as most of my friends aren't considered 'normal' and my friends who are considered as thus are constantly making me angry when they talk about certain people because of their looks, so I have dropped said friends and they've graduated without me anyways, now I get to graduate with my sister's class. YAY! There is a lot more but I've talked enough already so...Good night all.
PostPosted: Tue Aug 24, 2004 8:39 pm

Oh, and I spend a lot of time on the net, obviously. I forgot to include music etc. but you don't want to hear about that so...Good night for real now.

My name is Krista; I'm 17 going into grade 12. I cannot wait until this time next year. A picture of me. The pic is old though because my hair is back to it's natural brown color and slightly longer, my eyes are green. Another pic of me, with my cat, this one is later, because the dye is coming out and you can see my roots. Both were taken over a year ago. I have my nose pierced, and two holes in each ear.

My birthday is January 20, 1987. It's right on the cusp of Capricorn and Aquarius, so I tend to have the traits of both, when asked I say Aquarius though.
I live in Victoria BC with my mom and younger brother. My dad lives in Vancouver with his wife, I see him about twice a year.
I have a cat, his name is Frodo. He's black, has no tail, and an extra pad on his two front paws (it looks like he has thumbs). He was sitting on my foot but left to flop on the floor and sleep.

I love Queen; it's my favorite band ever. Also a lot of 80's bands, I love listening to the retro stuff on TV or radio. I also like more modern stuff, just depends on the song.
I should have a job, but I don't (due to the fact that I procrastinate, I'm bad at that sweatdrop ). I want a video camera so I can make films; I also need a job so I can save up to go to film school when I graduate.

I became interested in Tolkien in grade 9 (that would be 2001) when my best friend told me to read the books, because the films were coming out. I borrowed FotR from the school library, got right into it and loved it ever since (luckily I got the Trilogy for Christmas so I didn’t have to keep borrowing it from the library). I've now read The Hobbit and am reading The Silmarillion. Once I've finished the Sil, I plan on rereading both the Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings, then Unfinished Tales.

I guess that's all there is about me. If I have anymore I'll edit this.

I don't know what scares me more: Mistress_D's evil mom (She flushed a live fish!? Gah!), Akiyo's proposal (where's the ring?), or the fact that Alex is cheating on me with Lady-Nightengale.
Probably the fish. sweatdrop

(Aw, you guys are all so kwuuute. xd )

Ok, so about me:

Real name's Katie (or Kate), I'm 18, 5'3, brown hair, green eyes, no tattoos or unusual piercings.
An unfortunate picture of me camping with some friends domokun

Live on a farm in Ontario, go to University, English/Cultural Studies Joint Major.

Favorites (besides LotR) include:
peanut butter
ice cream
soccer (yeah that's me)
Monty Python
irony
coffee
Survivor
the internet
Homestar Runner
music (Tori Amos, Radiohead, Kate Bush, Sarah Slean, 70s & 80s music, various Jazz and Blues artists)
writing, poetry, literature, and words in general
probably some other stuff that I forget as well. It's early here.

I dislike too many things to list cohesively. I'm an angry, angry person. mrgreen

Tolkien appreciation started when I read The Hobbit in grade 6 (approx. 6-7 years ago). Then I read LotR 2 and a half times before FotR came out when I was in grade 11. I'll admit that that made my interest really take off, so I read the trilogy again, and then I got into The Silmarillion, etc.

Random things that may or may not be interesting:
I'm a vegetarian
I hate it when people chew their fingernails
My politics lean to the left
I have no religious affiliation
I have a blue car
I really wanna go to the World Cup in Germany but it'll likely not happen
I have no idea what I'm gonna do with my BA whee
I swear a lot when I drive
I work at a pet food store
I like to write "truth" in quotation marks
Philosophically, I like existentialism
I really like Heart of Darkness by Joseph Conrad

I think that's it.

It's Over!
