Hello guys, this is the OOC Thread for my Forgotten Realms campaign. All the game-related (or not) table chatter can go on in here.
Please look at the Campaign: Forgotten Realms: Play Thread or the Call for Players thread if you would like to join in.

I've never plyed in this setting before, do you know of any websites that can show me how I can build my character? I was also wondering if it would be okay to make an evil character or if that doesn't lend itself to the Forgotten Realms world?

I am getting a list of links to FR resources on the web that will be posted with my campaign background in the Campaign: Forgotten Realms: Play Thread as soon as I have it finished. But really, making a straight PHB character for this campaign is not going to hurt you in any way. Playing an evil character will be more of a challenge for you than for me DMing, as we get farther along in the adventure many of the players are sure to be doing good deeds and saving people, and you will be along for the ride.

Basically the easiest ways to fit an evil character in would be:
1. The character seeks redemption from her evil ways by joining a group of heroes.
2. The character is an agent of some organization that would like to know what the PC's are up to, or see them fail.
3. You could play a bad-guy in the adventure, though this may limit your playing time and options.

Since this is the OOC thread I think we are safe talking about this here, since Player knowledge and Character knowledge are different things. Noone should be using information gained it the OOC thread to help them in the game, your character wouldn't know any information from this thread.

I posted a list of links for online D&D sourcebooks and character creation in the beginning of the character sheets thread. Go ahead and check them out.

Hey guys, we now have 3 players for this campaign! I will be changing the opening play post to contain info on your current situations (which are listed in the 1st post of the Play Thread). You can go ahead and post your first action as Hiei has already done.

Ok, I posted the next turn finally domokun

Yes, I do give story awards based on dealing with non-combat situations creatively. This may not be a non-combat situation for long.

Hey Hunter, I'm not sure if you saw it, but there has been 2 action posts, one on the fire in town, and one with raiders attacking, is your post for after the raiders and alarms?

out of curiosity, are we o=gonna hafta protect some of the town guards or is that a bonus? if so what is the incentive for a true neutral to do this *more to self that our dm*? oh well, i have a desicion making thingy, i read for a death of a skeleton familar *ironic and contridicting statement* that it takes 100gp and 24 hours (not sure can someone please authenticate this?), but if it feels right, i'm cool with the usual familar rules. the question would you rather have me follow the 24hr/100gp dont send a child of one of the guards into the area near the battle scene. if you want me to follow the normal familar rules send a child of one of the guards into the area near the battle scene. biggrin
