Has anyone else felt a little out of place around Gaia. The other day I had someone start talking to me about random things. The more I talked to her the more I had to explain meanings of things. I started getting the feeling that I was talking to a young teenager so I ask how old she was.....she was 10. I'm more than twice her age. It just got me feeling really old. I guest we'll just count that as a bad day, just wondering if anyone else has had a day like that.

I'll be fishing, minding my own business, until someone comes along and starts what seems to be a very intellectual conversation... but the more it proceeds the more I realize they are talking about their favourite pokemon episode, the coolest thing they made in art class that day and their cute boy crush in grade 6...
I just kind of feel that I want to be back in the day... gonk

There are a few that can hold a conversation but for the most part they talk about their shows(anime) and school and boyfriends/girlfriends, which is not the same as us talking about ours, totally different relationships. That is how I got here, because I was looking for adults to talk to.

Personally I choose not to feel that way. Instead I feel that those people are just to young for something as kewl and good as Gaia. if they continue to bother me I suggest politely that they go do there home work or clean their rooms..
That being said I have had some amazingly good conversations and found out at the end that they were 13. So I don't want to paint them all with the same brush.

I'm sure its happened to others, but I've had people call me a pedaphile just for being on here. I haven't done anything, just that I actually come to this site. I saw one lady get called that and it shocked me. I mean its bad enough kids are getting cell phones but does our time to relax and get away from it all have to be taken too?

Oh, don't get me wrong I'm still a big kid at heart and usually I'm either watching cartoons or playing video games, and I'm not saying that all people 16 and under can't hold an intellegent conversation, I'm just saying that more often than not it seems to drift into the old high school drama i try not to remember.

I enjoy my conversations with the young'uns. The conversations can be spirited as well as intelligent. I use caution, however, when looking through the forums and choose my subjects carefully. There are somethings that I will not discuss with children. As an adult, it would not be right. I'm sure you guys know what I mean.

I never ask people their age because I'd rather not know. I think age is a silly thing anyway. Afterall we can't control when we are born. But we can control how we act and relate to other human beings. I'll hold a discussion with a 5 year old if the conversation interests me. 3nodding Yet sometimes I find it difficult to talk to someone older than me or my own age. It all depends on the individual I believe.
