So yeah. Today's the Day of Silence. A day when all of us yaoi fans, homosexuals, and general activists get together and...
Wear t-shirts.
And stay really, really quiet.
It's kind of a backwards method... But hey, it's one that doesn't get us all beaten by police and killed in riots... so it's a start.
Thoughts?

I think that it is a good idea, but ZOMG!!! It is so hard to freaking stay quiet all day. I am a hyper talkitive Rikku type, and bein quiet was hard, I exploded in my last class because it was sooooo hard. But i did last all day until like 1:00

I was thinking about making a thread for this, then declined. Now I wish I had. Anyways, I'm still silent. All of the gay kids and gay allies at school wore pink tday, and I was surprised at just how many people were involved. And it was really cool because a ton of people congratulated me for that I was doing. I love my school. biggrin

My school participated too. There were fewer kids though this year, it made me sad. But those who were wore a blue ribbon. I wore one and stayed silent. 3nodding

u___u I had totally forgotten it was today, and only remembered in last period. D: Even if I was to participate, I would have been the only person in my school doing it. ;__;

I got this awesome black t-shirt with this rainbow thingi on it - it looks like it's for a concert or something... ^_^
I was really surprised how many people participated at my school this year - compared to last, it's a massive difference. As far as speaking goes, I was actually really good at not talking - the only time I blatently spoke was when this one other silency person was TALKING AND TALKING AND TALKING... First I poked them in the head a few times, then I death glared at them while I shoved them in the arm. Eventually I just gave up and yelled at them. It felt good. xd

Those who wanted to stay silent got yellow index cards to pin to thier clothes, and those who wanted to show support for the cause, but wanted to be able to talk, as well, got blue ones. :3
Needless to say, I had a yellow card. XD
Though, it WAS really hard to shut up for a day...^^;;

That does sound cool.
I think what our district does is they have a Day of Silence, follwed by a Night of Noise.
Though, I've never gone to the Night of Noise, so I have no idea what actually goes on there... sweatdrop
