I found this while poking around YouTube the other day. Although I have a feeling some of you might have seen this before, judging from the "special thanks" section of the credits, I just had to share this with those who might not have. (Btw, I suppose one could consider this slightly spoiler-ish...it IS an ending, after all...) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bZLKVrZ4Blw&search=sonic the hedgehog 2 ending I can't even begin to imagine how long this took to put together, and I swear, whoever did it needs to seriously get hired by Sega. This stuff could almost rival the CGI work seen in recent games...

Hey, thanks for that! You're right, it was sweet. I can see I'm going to have to spend more time at Youtube... Maybe when I get a computer that'll stream this stuff properly...

I love Youtube.com, it's perfect for watching the goofy Sonic Underground episodes and the other 2 Sonic shows for that matter, brings back the memories so well.

That's pretty amazing, but I shouldn't be surprised. This is the age we're moving into, after all. The means of media production are now becoming cheaper and available to the common audience. Amateur movie makers can put together seriously good films using over-the-counter editing software and pretty basic digital video cameras. Hell, I can get a half decent 7 to 8 minute movie on my camera, and it isn't even a video camera. I watched a Star Wars fan movie in January too, and the special effects, while not as good as Revenge of the Sith, were at least as good as Stargate: SG1 or Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, and that's saying a lot.
I like the age we're moving into; it's an age of amateur movie making and Internet streaming. Soon we won't need Hollywood anymore. :p
Anyway, that movie is probably the closest to my fantasy we'll ever get; a modern 3D remake of the older Sonic games, in particular the whole three-game Death Egg story arc. A very nice find. *adds it to his favourites*
